Judy the bartender was very kind and attentive! Made a pit stop before going to Fan Fest & I was so glad I did. You can't come to Buca and not order the bread! Will be back when I go to Universal again.

Julio provided great service. The food was delicious and tasty. We sat at the table where we can see the chefs cooking each meal. The chicken fettuccine with broccoli was delicious and tasty. Perfect place for a birthday party. The vibe is alive. Perfect place to dine before or after a movie or visiting the park.

Really good food. I prefer it over Olive Garden; it tastes more authentic and real compared to other places where it can be obvious the food was microwaved. The place serves family-style meals, so everything you order comes as a huge portion, which is great but also can be expensive quickly if you don't watch out. Ordering that main dish with appetizers, a salad, and dessert can cost you big, and you may not even eat it all, so it is very important to look at the menu and only get what you can eat. Most small plates can feed a family of four. I and my wife with kids ordered the chicken carbonara, and between the 4 of us, we could not finish and still had leftovers to take to lunch the next day, so it is a big plate. They have a family meal promotion currently at $40 for pasta salad and breadsticks for 40 people. Remember, all family size is a lot of freaking food. We got that last time, and we had plenty left over, and I highly recommend it. My last visit was great, but for whatever reason we were put in the back with the bigger parties, and they were loud, which was odd because there were plenty of solo booths in front that were empty while there were other booths in the same area occupied. This annoyed me a bit, but overall our visit was great and service was fantastic. Loved the food!

If you want amazing Italian food, this spot is already a win... BUT if you get Moisés as your host, you just unlocked VIP status We come here ALL the time--lunch, dinner, random cravings--and somehow Moisés always knows exactly what we want before we even say it That level of service? UNMATCHED. The best part... we don't just come as ourselves We pull up as: El Chavo Quico La Chilindrina And every time, Moisés plays along, makes us laugh, and turns dinner into a whole experience The food is always * Big portions (perfect for sharing) * Flavor on point every time * Comfort food that hits different after a long day But honestly... the reason we keep coming back? Moisés. He makes us feel like family, not customers. If you come here, do yourself a favor: Ask for Moisés. Trust me. We'll definitely keep coming back... whether it's lunch, dinner, or just El Chavo getting hungry again

Our fave dinner spot after a long day at Universal! As an Italian myself, this is one of my fave spots. The food is always fresh & quick service! We even ordered to go & it was ready in 15 mins. You have to try the spicy chicken rigatoni (marinara + alfredo sauce mix) , it is my fave dish & it inspired me to learn how to make it at home. My hubby loves the pepperoni pizza, they will cover it with meat. The place itself is cozy and there are tons of decor on the walls to look at/appreciate. Our fave italian spot, highly recommend trying. Lil secret tip ask the front to be seated in the kitchen, there is a booth back there where you can watch them cook the meals and the waiter will explain the process. So FUN!

This is inside Universal Studios in Los Angeles, CA. We arrived early weekday evening and surprisingly we were seated immediately. No lines no waiting. Inside is tight & elevated noise level. Food serving portions are family style which means it's a huge serving. The food quality & taste is not what it used to be. Even the price is much higher than before. Well, it's LA and it's inside Universal Studios lot! Parking will also set you back a few dollars.

After a long day at Universal we ended our day at Buca di Beppo! It was crowded so I'm glad we were prepared with a reservation. We ordered the baked rigatoni, spicy arrabiata, and chicken Parmesan. All the portions were hefty even for the regular size. The only thing I would say needed some work was how soggy the parmigiana was. 3/5 The baked rigatoni was amply served with the sauce tasting pretty good. 3.5/5 Spicy arrabiata wouldn't be my first choice but the crust was good somewhat lacking flavor but serviceable, undercarriage needed some work. 3/5 But what made our night was the service, we had a great waiter who had our corner well attended.

Pope Room for my daughter's birthday party!!

Celebrated my daughter's 13th birthday here. Requested for the Pope Room and we got it! We take turns between Pasadena and this City Walk location. The energy's awesome - perfect for any type of occasion. We've celebrated birthdays and graduations with Buca. It's family style and the portions are HUGE - most importantly- they've stayed consistent. Consistent with quality, taste, portions and service. (When I say we've celebrated many milestones here, I'm talking for atleast the last 15+ years and it's always awesome.) This time I decided to get 3 orders of the 4 for $49 deal that came with 3x garlic bread, salad, pasta, and entree. Plus 2 pizzas and Trio Appetizer - Enough for all 13 of us PLUS a leftover take home container for everyone. *I definitely recommend their specials when they have them- wonderful deal for half the price. 10 out of 10 for me!!

    Buca Trio Platter

After a long hot day at Universal Studios, this place hits the spot!! Around 7pm on a Wednesday mid-June, we were able to easily get a table upstairs without a reservation. Portions are HUGEEE and are def meant to be shared. Everything was tasty, especially the Eggplant Parmigiana and the Baked rigatoni. I would also get the Buca Trio Platter again for the shrimp and calamari. Pizza wasn't memorable... everything came out to $28, split between 7-ish people! Service was a wee bit slow, but the guy was friendly. It's cute that they take DSLR photos and come back with the print for sale (i think for $5 each?) at the end. Would def come back.

This is my first time visiting. It's one of my husband's favorite spots to go. I enjoyed the family experience. They truly make you feel welcome. The staff is very friendly. They help guide you through a very narrow walkway. The restaurant is on the upstairs so you walk past the kitchen very clean everything is very well put together then you go upstairs about three flights of stairs and they take you to your table. There's a lot of history on the walls. There's just a lot of art and then you sit down they take your order while you're eating or before you're eating they come around and they take a souvenir picture and they will sell you additional pictures for $25 each absolutely gorgeous pictures. We ended up buying two and we enjoyed our food. It was very delicious. We spent $201 I believe but all the portions are share size they're not individual so if you go by yourself, you better be ready for a doggy bag because you're walking out with leftovers. Will be back to try more yummy food soon.

Went here for dinner. The place was okay and lighting was just right. The food was good. I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread enjoyed it. The service was okay as well. Overall, a decent dinner spot.

    Really good Chopped Antipasti Salad

Food and service: 5 stars Pricey for a casual meal, thus the 4 star overall. Had the appetizer trio. Would not recommend the spicy shrimp unless you can handle SPICY! I enjoy a little, but it was too hot! The calamari & fried mozzarella were both yummy. Antipasto chopped salad is not to be missed! And we also enjoyed the special shrimp linguine. Delicious meal with leftovers. Great, friendly and efficient service provided by Moises. Fun environment.

    Joe Z.

Everything was good. The portions were great. Although tasty, the pricing is a bit much especially for appetizers , $27 for fried mozzarella is insane. I paid that for their pepperoni pizza. I recommend just getting a family meal instead of piecing together entrees. The ambiance of the restaurant creates a perfect environment for family and friends to dine and get-together. Service was good and our server was very helpful. This is the City walk location so you might want to make reservations if you plan on going on a weekend. The house bread is amazing!

From my first call to restaurateur Eric to make a reservation earlier in the week, the experience was as warm and personable as can be. Within minutes of our arrival, we were greeted by co-restaurateur Antonio, and we instantly felt like family at the beautiful, private table they had thoughtfully reserved for us by the window. Our wonderful server, Jessica, made the night even brighter. We started with some Peach Puree Bellini Prosecco that was crisp, refreshing, and beyond amazing. The food arrived with impressive speed, but the quality was truly second to none. My wife absolutely loved the special of the night--a Tiger Shrimp and Asparagus Linguini--and my Angus Beef Bolognese with savory short rib ragu was easily the best I've ever had. Antonio and Jessica checked on us frequently, chatting about the day and the amazing history of the restaurant. This was NOT just a night out at a "restaurant." The trattoria had low lighting and looked like a romantic little Italian villa with Sinatra music lilting in the background. It felt much more a date night place than a business dinner. First, the wine list by the glass had excellent, very interesting and offbeat selections. The bottle selection was really superb. Then, as a starter, we shared a white bean and lobster appetizer. It tasted absolutely amazing ... and a dish that neither of us had tried before. Our very seasoned and polite waiter told us we would enjoy it. Next, he had the lobster ravioli, and I had the salmon. Both were really cooked to perfection and wowed us. Lastly, for dessert, we split this most amazing pistachio gelato that came cut into slices with finely chopped pistachios sprinkled on top and a most delish type of pistachio paste?? inside. Angelo, the owner, stopped by and chatted with us during the meal, and we felt as though we had almost dined in someone's private home with a most amazing meal.

My fiancé had been wanting to go here for a while and we live down the street so we figured we'd try. Angelo came out and was extremely sweet and accommodating as well as our server; honestly every one of the staff were extremely sweet and helped me pick out what to order. The super Tuscany wine was amazing, the appetizers, (Roman Pruscetta and the Caesar salad) were incredible. The Pastas were also out of this world. This will be my new spot for taking anyone for a nice dinner.

Well now... Where…read morecan a chef who has worked in the industry for 20+ years go and not complain about ANYTHING... Not many places. We tend to pick out every little detail, everything out of place, every miscalculation and any mistake. I couldn't find one tonight. From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted with smiles and warm energy. An energetic room (at 5:45pm) and a stage set. I've heard great things, I've anticipated this for months. Going into anything with high hopes is always a risk. But I felt at ease within moments. First cocktail at the bar... quick service, tasty drink, what else do you need? Sat... Somm, server and commis de rang all touched the table within a couple of minutes. I tend to spend too much time looking at menus and this wine list set me up for an adventure. Page after page of stellar picks at prices you won't find at restaurants of this caliber. Value after value! We settled on a fun Italian white, Chardonnay with Nebbiolo... yes a white with Nebbiolo. Oh how it worked with the food.. Oysters and Sashimi... Crudo... Apple Salad... Each delivering multidimensional flavors and textures. Peru meets Japan meets Cali farm to table. The pace and timing of each course perfectly delivered. As we moved into our... Croquettes... I was genuinely speechless. How did these taste like the enchiladas I grew up with? Chicken confit, burnt tomatoes, grana padano salsa pepian... It worked with the wine in my glass. I could have spent the entire evening dabbling with the raw menu and starters but it was time for something more... Risotto... is never to be missed. You should always judge a restaurant serving Italian food based on a few things.... A pepperoni pizza. Their "fresh bread" The level of cook on their pasta And.... How they cook their risotto. This made the table go silent. You really just need to try it.. Dinner wrapped up with an Olive Oil Cake and a glass of Takaji and this may have been the perfect pairing to end the night... fresh, uplifting and harmonious in every way. This was long and poetic but the bottom line is that this place is worth visiting regularly. There were a dozen things on the menu that we missed that looked good. I'll be back soon and I just wish I lived closer!!

Even though the restaurant was busy, we were seated quickly and immediately offered our choice of water, which was a nice touch and set the tone for a great evening. Our server, Daniel, was fantastic. He introduced himself, shared a little about the restaurant, and made us feel welcome right away. After taking our drink order, he was incredibly knowledgeable and helped guide us through the menu with excellent recommendations. We started with the octopus appetizer, which was absolutely outstanding. My fiancée couldn't try it due to some spice allergies, but I can honestly say it was one of the best octopus dishes I've had. For our entrées, she ordered the duck and I had the New York steak--both were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional. Verse delivered a truly memorable dining experience, and we can't wait to come back. One more shoutout to Daniel for providing such outstanding service and making our first visit even more enjoyable!

There's a tiny front area that feels like someone's living room which I love, and the back patio is very cozy too. They also have larger tables for big groups and a bar area. The food is mexican fusion, really fresh with flavors in perfect harmony. Last time we tried the lobster tacos, and I immediately ordered another. The burrata pear salad was fresh and refreshing, and the butternut squash enchiladas were so yummy and comforting. I can't wait to try more dishes! Would it be my top choice for Mexican food if I'm looking for a traditional taco or burrito? No, but this restaurant markets itself as a modern spin on Mexican cuisine, and the food is solid overall. At my last meal I ordered tacos and shared one taco entree with a friend. Each taco order comes with two, and the duck confit had a great mixture of savory and sweet flavors with the goat cheese, bean puree, and pickled onions. I shared the fried chicken tacos with my friend and found it to be unremarkable. On the other hand, the seasonal cocktail that I ordered was well-made and made me curious about trying other alcoholic beverages when I return in the future.
