I'm here for the week for work and the office's deli just didn't tickle my fancy. I came out here for lunch and ordered the two slices lunch deal. Basically, it's half a pizza and a fountain drink for $8! The pizza is good too!! Not very oily, the toppings have flavor, and it only took a few minutes for the food to be ready. A colleague had a meatball sandwich and she liked it. I might try their pasta next time, but then again the pizza was good so I'm tempted to stick with a safe option. Was brought here by my girlfriend and had never heard of it. It apparently just opened up after some construction was done. It is inside of a gas station convenience store. Sounds odd, but still has a small seating section and a TV to boot. If you don't get a drink from them, they have plenty in the coolers on the convenience side. I got 2 slices, which gets you a free fountain drink. The slices are HUGE (1/4 of a pizza). The guys that work there aren't the most outgoing and friendly unless you're a regular, but I could careless about that. I'm there for good food. I really like Slice a lot! For many reasons... They are close by to me, the are VERY reasonably priced and most of all they remind me of when I lived in the North End (which is a time that is very close to my heart!). I just wished they stayed open later!!! Heck I would take open on Sundays but I totally understand, everyone needs a day to rest! Love the sauce, the cheese is fine but my only complaint would be too much corn meal on the peel. This is just me being picky though! Great job guys and keep doing what you're doing! read more

I live about three minutes from 'Slice'. For years, I've driven past this tiny little hole in the wall not thinking I was missing anything special. Time after time I found myself trying different pizza joints only to get a sub par pie. Finally, one day I decided to give this place a shot. Thank God. This place has great, what I would describe as 'Italian style' pizza. There is not one part of the pizza that isn't tasty. The dough is fairly thin and carries a 'brick oven' flavor, though I don't believe they use a brick oven. I could be wrong. The sauce is delicious, with a fresh taste of tomato. Last, the cheese covers the pie well, has a nice flavor and isn't greasy. I typically request my pizza 'well done', for an extra crisp. Since my first initial taste test from Slice, I've since gone there every time I had a craving for pizza. Recently I grabbed a buffalo chicken calzone and that too was really good. Prices are also very reasonable,and food is made quick. In the end I'm upset that I never gave this place a shot, shame on me. From now on I have a great place to go to get a bite to eat that's not far away from home. UPDATE: This place is still really great and well worth it. I come here about twice a week. The best pizza in Wakefield by far. Don't listen to any negative reviews, this place is a hidden gem. read more

OK, I know I have reviewed this place numerous times in the past but there is a REASON for this, the food.....it's that good. This place deserves the praise I give, they earned it. I went in there tonight for a "Slice Signature Sub" and "Eggplant Parm Sub" and came home with a gourmet meal and a free large pepperoni pizza for just being a customer the owners said, for no reason, they didnt make me wait or because they messed up my order or anything, just because...... That, to me, tells me they care, and if they care in general, then they are going to care about the food, and it shows easily...... The location is hidden they way it is on purpose, they bring this joint to Boston, Regina wont stand a chance, this place has amazing pizza and sandwiches, only place to eat in wakefield, if you dont know about this place, forget that your sleeping, you flat-lined, homie.....trust me, call 911 or come try a slice or sub and tell me I am wrong, cause I am not, and the staff in there are real people that care...they should change there name from SLICE to SARAN, cause its a WRAP! read more

My family owned the Pasta Pot in Woburn for 9 years. They had the BEST pizza. The Slice had replicated the recipe using the same dough. It's simply the best around. I mean a slice is 1/4 of an entire pizza! Boneless wings and salads are great too. read more

Got a grilled chicken garden salad and a buffalo garden salad(Not on the menu but they made it). Both chickens were gross, the grilled chicken tasted like fish and the sauce they used for the buffalo was gross. The salads weren't great, I think they used bagged lettuce. It definitely wasn't fresh and their house dressing is gross. Also got a slice of cheese, which looked like it was sitting on the counter all day. It didn't taste bad after I brought it home and reheated it. The pizza was prob the only good thing that I got. read more

It's true. Their pizzas are delicious. I got a pepperoni slice for $3.50. It's Yuuuge. Basically two slices as one. The crust is perfectly crispy and doughy. The sauce, the cheese, everything. Too bad they don't deliver because it would be our go-to pizza shop but I don't mind picking it up. read more

Great food here, truly a hidden gem. A lot of my former co-workers used to RAVE about this place, and after recently moving down the street I decided to give it a try. I have eaten here 5-10 times, and honestly havent ventured far from the pizza and subs. Thus far I have been thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food, politeness of the staff and the apparent tight knit customer base you can see every time you go in. First the people behind the counter, wonderful keep your cool kinda people. Slice gets so busy during the noon time, during the dinner hours because their food is so delicious. The pizza is the best I've had, a slice is like the size of two pieces. They have delicious salads, and I've had the slice salad with chicken. I love Regina's (North End only) and Lombardi's in SoHo, and this place is right up there. I've had sandwiches that blew me away as well. Thin crust (really!!), fresh toppings and a great sauce. I just have to review this place. It is amazing. I want to start by saying, I don't even go into gas stations for snacks/chips/etc, so never in a MILLION years would I think that my new favorite pizza place would be in a gas station!! my boyfriend even said to me "what made you try that place? its not a type of place you would just normally try" and he is right.. but DONT let the fact that this pizza place is in a gas station deter you. You will NOT be disappointed!! The slices are HUGE! and they are soooo delicious! the sauce is great and it always comes out PIPING HOT! the ONLY negative is that it is always busy at lunch and you need to call in your order ahead of time otherwise it will take an awful long time. My boyfriend & I just discovered Slice and we think its great. I personally prefer the greek-style pizza places (House of Pizza in Wakefield - yum!), but he likes Slice so much more.. he compares it to "real new york style" pizza and would eat it everyday if he could. Since the pizza isn't my thing, I usually get a sub or salad. The subs are good, fresh rolls and all. You also have the option of ciabatta bread for some sandwiches, which is REALLY good!! I get salad's a lot as well, the caesar salad is great and the slice salad with the house dressing is absolutely delicious. The staff is always really friendly and the prices are fair... we always call the order in and it's always ready when we arrive. The are only a few downsides to Slice. I dont believe they deliver yet, there is limited parking (the place is tiny!), they only sell cans of soda, no bottles and they are not open Sundays. none of these are a big deal to us, just observations that might be helpful. read more

A year ago I would have given Slice 5 stars without hesitation. However, my last 2 orders have made me reconsider my once favorite pizza spot, which is a travesty. I've been going here for years and I could always count on stellar thin crust pizza and delicious sandwiches. I don't order pizza often, so when I do get it I'm more than excited. I definitely recommend the Grilled Chicken Pizza, which has been amazing every time I've gotten it, most recently about 3 months ago. However, I ordered the Italian Sausage pizza about 1.5 months ago and it wasn't great. Not horrible, but something was missing. Then a week ago (2/2/18) I ordered the Prosciutto Margherita Pizza and dare I say, it was awful. Probably one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. The entire pizza was dried out, almost like it was old and sitting out for hours. There was very little flavor and a skimpy portion of prosciutto, which in this case was actually a good thing because the prosciutto was totally dried out and tough. Honestly, close to inedible. I hate to say this, because I've always recommended Slice to people I know, but the quality is not what is was 6 months ago. Maybe I just had a bad pizza chef these last 2 orders? Or, maybe Slice isn't as good as it used to be. :( Based on the last 2 pizzas I got here I wouldn't return (also $16 is too much for a bad pizza). Based on all the previous good experiences with Slice I've had, I'd give it one more shot, but I'd be very nervous and if it wasn't great that would be my last visit. Now, if you asked me about 2 years ago where my favorite pizza place was, I might say Slice (this place). However, that changed last year. Last year, they reopened their business after merging with a gas station. I was glad, I hadn't have their pizza in almost a year! So I came back the day of the reopening. The service was pretty happy and I got a cheese pizza. Now, I believe the old Slice before the renovation had a thicker crust (which I like better), and to me it seems like now the Slice pizza has a crispier crust. But to me, everything else for the pizza stayed the same: sauce, greasiness, cheese, etc. Anyways, they merged with a gas station (I believe it's something Prime), and inside the Slice building is also a mini-gas station convenience store. They've got all the snacks and drinks you'd expect, which is a huge plus for those that like to stay in the building and eat their pizza. They only have around 4 tables, which are mostly filled. The lines are sometimes long depending on the day, and there is a TV which I believe is set to a sports channel. But it is a family business and there's no peanut oil, and I like how it's causal. So, I'll give it 4 stars :) read more
