So you know where I am coming from, I think that the best pizza in Boston metro is from Santarpio's. Their crust, sauce and home-made sausage are second to none. However, Slice is the best I've had in the Wakefield area. Their crust is chewy and thin. Their sauce has flavor. They don't skimp on cheese. Their salads, rice balls (arancini) and sandwiches are equally fresh and delicious. They are nice people who give you a huge quarter of a quality pie and soda for $5. What's not to love? read more

BEST PIZZA EVER!!!!! And I've been searching! Just had a slice but can imagine what a fresh whole pizza is like!!!

I am only giving Slice 3 stars not because of the food, which is quite good, but because of the service. We are pretty regular customers, my kids LOVE their Buffalo Chicken Calzone, but everytime, and I mean every time, we've ordered take out the food is never ready when we arrive to pick it up. We often have to wait at least 5-10 more mins on top of the amount of time they initially give when placing the order. They never apologize which should be pretty standard customer service. I can't understand why they haven't figured out the whole timing thing yet. They've been in business for a few years now,I definetly think the kinks should be worked out by now. This place is fantastic! From the pizzas to the paninis to the calzones, I have never had a bad meal here. I highly recommend the Chicken parm sub. This is no ordinary subshop chicken parm, this sub is the equivalent of something served in my grandmothers kitchen in Italy. Simply delicious. The eggplant rollatini is also delicious and is better than any restaurant in the north end or around this area. Bottom line if you are searching for real italian food not impostures who throw garlic and cheese on foods and call it "italian," this is the spot for you. read more

I have never tried this place till today. It had been closed and is now apart of the gas station that has been at the fork for a long time. The round pizza has a nice thing crust and is crispy with a good cheese belnd. The sicilian is also very good and I like the sauce as well. I definitely recommend this place. 2 slices and a soda ran me about $6 but the slice of a round pizza is 1/4 of the pizza. read more

We recently moved to the neighborhood and Slice has become our go to place! The pizza is delicious and their Slice Salad & Slice Sub are incredible! Delicious sliced breaded cutlets served over lettuce, red roasted peppers, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes with a white balsamic dressing - so, so good! Recently tried their tuna sub (and I admit I am very weary of Tuna) it was fantastic, one of the bests I've had at a sub shop. Definitely a must try! read more

A month ago I came in around closing time to grab a slice with my dad. I accidentally forgot my Michael Kors bag on the chair. I went there and they were closed because it was Sunday I went again Monday it was closed for the snow storm I called right when they opened on Tuesday morning and spoke to a male who said he would call back but never did. My dad went in and the girl who was working the night I lost it was there when he went in and she actually told him she put it under the register for me but it had gone missing from under the register. The manager said he would call back. A week later we still heard nothing my dad went back in they took his number again and said the manager would call him and he never did. So we have one good employee who found my bad and saved it for me and someone else who stole it. I haven't had one update. It's a shame because I really liked the place. My place of business ordered there often along with many family and friends. It's a shame that this happened and nothing has been done. read more

This place is my go to place when I want something on the go or when I'm pressed for time because they are fully staffed and I never have to wait long. Their Pizza is fantastic and their pasta dishes and chicken cutlets with tomato cream sauce is mouth watering. This place is always clean and the employees are extremely friendly. Slice is like Adrian in Rocky. When we first see her you think, well nothing too great. But when she takes off her glasses, lets her hair down and puts on some make-up, well she's a beauty. This place is like that. A restaurant attached to a gas station...who would go in? Well go in you must. This pizza is better than any pizza in Saugus! We make the ride at least once a week. The pizza is thin crust, large and as close to a New York slice as you can get away from Original Rays. The menu is very limited, but what they do they do well (pay attention Chesecake Factory! ). The pepperoni is very spicy; the broccoli rabe is bitter and great. The sandwiches are solid, try the mozzarella and prosciutto. Calzones are made from the same great dough and are stuffed. We have not tried the pasta yet, that is next on our list. The place is very clean, but the attitude of the staff is a roll of the dice: sometimes great, other times stiff and aloof. Listen owners! You're in a gas station, not Newbury Street, relax a little! One important caveat: parking is close to impossible, just a few spaces out back. But if you and the cougar don't mind waiting for a space, this is a great little place. read more

AWESOME! Quality and freshness is key and they have it at Slice. I have been there three times over the past six months and every time, it has been exceptional. The first time, we had the pizza and it was great. I have ordered the Slice Chicken Cutlet twice - absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked cutlets with prosciutto, roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella, drizzled with balsamic dressing. In my mind, there is a place and a time for prosciutto, roasted red peppers and balsamic dressing, not necessarily a huge fan. But, I took the recommendation of the guys working there, I was told I would not be disappointed AND I WAS NOT! This sandwich is fresh and delicious, a perfect combination of flavors. I also tried a bite of the Pressed Grilled Chicken and this is just as good as the Slice Chicken Cutlet. We will be back and would highly recommend to anyone looking for fresh, high quality food. read more

Slice has the best pizza in Wakefield (and we have a lot of pizza places!) Try one with ricotta and you'll see what I mean. Their calzones are also great, but the best thing on the menu is the Slice Salad. read more

In essence, Slice is a hidden gem. Located in the back corner of a gas station convenience store, they serve some of the best and largest pizza slices around. The pizza was really good. My kiddo isn't very adventurous so we got you basic pepperoni. Everyone has their preferences, but for me it was perfect, the crust wasn't too doughy, the sauce was flavorful, and there wasn't too much cheese. Depending on the day parking is a little tight. A group of us from work order here regularly and are all hooked. Everyone get something different and is always excited to go back for more. Pizza, fries and subs are all delish. My personal favorite is the chicken parm.. although I have heard the eggplant is amazing as well. I went in for the first time today to try a slice and take home a calzone. I was greeted by a very friendly, enthusiastic owner. It's so nice to see that these days for a change. The place was very very clean! I loved my pizza slice! Thin crispy crust and very fresh. No frozen anything here. And the calzone, excellent dough! Beautiful flavors! I feel like I was at the OTHER version of SLICE. I went in and waited to place my order while an employee was on the phone with the boss. The other employee was friendly but could not take my order. I waited a while for my eggplant rollatini (very nice tasting) and slice of pizza (cheese pizza was pre cooked and left on the counter - size was large and that is the best I can say). I got in the car and took a bite of an ice cold pizza slice. I got back to work and was so busy I stared at my slice for an hour before I could get to the microwave. I heated it and it was not GREAT SHAKE. I will not be back!! read more

This place is the best around. I occasionally get there pizza which is great but their calzones are unbelievable packed full of goodness. Definatly recommend giving them a try if your in the area. Prices are very reasonable too. read more

I've been coming here since I was little and it was a tiny little building before they renovated. They have AMAZING food and the staff is great. I love all the workers here they're awesome guys and their food is to die for. It makes me upset to see them rated lower because of the parking, which really isn't in their control. Got a salad today from slice. The portion was good...salad was a bit flavorless including their house dressing. The girl who rings up customers is rude and has a horrible attitude and made me feel like I was inconveniencing her for being there. Found two hairs in my salad and am now disgusted. Safe to say I won't be back. read more
