I just wanted a salad, and at $14.75 for what's essentially pizza-and-salad-bar territory, the math stopped mathing. So my party and I did what any reasonable people do when a "cheap lunch" stops being cheap: we pivoted to sushi down the street, which at that point felt like the actual smart move, not a consolation prize. Great call, honestly. Here's the real gut punch: on my way out, defeated, I spot a sandwich board -- an actual, physical sandwich board, standing right there in broad daylight -- advertising the SAME lunch buffet for $11.99. Not a special. Not a typo. Just a sign, casually contradicting the human being who'd quoted me $14.75 not five minutes earlier, like the left hand and the right hand had never been introduced.
