We ate at Slickers for the first time this week, and couldn't have been happier with our experience! After being out in the Florida heat, it was absolutely wonderful to sit down and feel the cool air. The food was amazing. We highly recommend the Grouper sandwich, and the Cuban was the best we've ever had! Our server Rory was so helpful, and recommended the Kiwi-tini, which we loved! We had such an amazing meal here last night. The apps were the perfect size, and delicious. Try the whipped goat cheese bruschetta! Amazing!! Our dinner was absolutely delicious. Its been a long time since I have enjoyed a meal out. the Shrimp Gambitto was fire! In a good way! Just the right heat, the shrimp were huge, and fresh!!! I was informed the dish I was ordering was spicy but that was an understatement! I broke out in a sweat from the meal and two hours later My insides are still feeling the burning. Ps. I'm a person that likes wasabi. There was nothing that came with the meal ie: salad, bread to assist me with my burning palate .., then I ordered coffee , which I must say was absolutely the best French press coffee but but when I received my bill it was $10 more... just for coffee. !! I have heard great things about this new restaurant for a few months and finally experienced it today for myself when I attended a luncheon there. The menu looked amazing with some very unique food choices and there was a second menu with interesting drink specials. I enjoyed a delicious flatbread and a glass of wine. Don't hesitate to eat here and for that matter drink here! Thankfully the bartender Rory talked me into the octopus. To say that it was amazing is a understatement. I woke up the next day thinking about how I could eat it for breakfast. I will say I'm a sucker for olives and capers and thankfully they didn't skimp on either. I don't drink alcohol so Max at the bar made me a delicious drink that was spot on. No fluffy pink drinks with umbrellas in them thank God. I would buy that drink by the gallon poured over ice while by the pool. I like to eat out but it's rare for me to be this excited about going back to a place after I've already been there. We had dinner last night at Slicker's and it was a 5-star experience all the way. The staff were super friendly and made sure we were enjoying ourselves and our drinks were always full. We decided to order a bunch of the small plates so we could try a lot of different things. Our favorites were the beef carpaccio and the spicy grilled octopus, but everything was delicious. We finished dinner with the Creme brûlée and purchased a $50 gift card for my brother so he could come try it out. Looking forward to many more visits. read more

We tried the cheese board and it was amazing! It had some unusual cheeses that were quite tasty. The Shrimp BLT was also very enjoyable. As well as the Shrimp Gambitto. The greatest of people, incredibly intelligent when it comes to cocktails, max is the bartender of the century. The food is also extremely well prepared and tastes great. Literally did a 180 to go back to the quaint little place for there bloody Mary bar. Met Brandon who was very charming and told us that we had to come back sometime for their food because he said it was amazing and they had been opened for one year. After a day of sailing on Sarasota Bay my wife and I decided to cancel our main dinner reservation and try Slicker's Eatery for dinner. I am so glad we did because it made for a perfect ending to a perfect day. The menu was very eclectic and the food was divine!! Brandon and the other server Ryan were incredibly charming and had exceptional customer service skills and great personalities. It was most impressive for the owner himself, chef that night, brought our meals to us and later we saw him interacting with several tables and then he even cleaned a table himself and wiped it down which was most extraordinary. We enjoyed everything we had from the drinks to the appetizers to the main meal to the desert and will definitely come back to this very unique restaurant...Possibly even tomorrow morning for the bloody Mary bar again!!! My husband and I were lucky enough to participate in a soft opening for this restaurant. It did not disappoint. This will be a great addition to the very few excellent restaurants in our area. They served Chef's selection, so we were surprised with what was presented to us. We had the Beef Bradenton which was cooked perfectly and tasted delightful, then the Charcuterie Plate that had an assortment of Boar's Head meats, cornichons, and house jams, it all complimented each other very well. We then had the Arroz Congri Con Pollo, the chicken was tender and juicy, and tasted great with the black beans and rice, and fruit salsa.
