They got hit hard by the Fall 2024 hurricanes, but they're back!

Drove by so many times because I thought it was just a dive bar. But what a surprise. The food here is amazing. Even their run of the mill items are prepared to perfection. Love the Octopus, and the Cuban. Always exceptional.

I can't say enough truly amazing things about this place! I called last minute in the middle of a tropical storm and they were able to accommodate 20+ people for my rehearsal dinner. They provided AMAZING service, even better food, and an environment that was so welcoming we will remember it for the rest of our lives! I can't recommend this place enough! A must try if you are in the Bradenton/Anna Maria island area. The food was wonderful and the overall price was not bad at all!

Blood orange cosmo and old fashioned

Good Cuban sandwich and great cosmo. Potato salad is ok but different. It's chopped potatoes olives onions and dressing. Good food but wish the menu was bigger and had more dinner choices.

Spicy grilled octopus

Great place for lunch or dinner right by the beaches. The menu is like nothing you're going to find in the area. The word fried is nowhere to be found on the menu. The small plates are perfect for a light lunch or get several to share. We've tried several of them. Every one is a winner. BUT, the spicy grilled octopus is amazing. Tender, sweet and spicy. So good we ordered a second one last night. Gotta try. And say hi to the owner Bob while you're there. He's always there and the perfect host.

Cheese plate

Food is always delish. The cheese plate is really good. Always packed but the servers and bartenders are always so pleasant.

When you drive up to this place, you think that there is no way this is the place that has great reviews. From the outside it looks like a complete dive . Once you get inside the ambience builds. It's part sea shack, bistro and dive bar. It was our anniversary, so we made a reservation. When we walked in and said our name, we were shown to a table that had a reserved sign on it. That was really cool and a nice touch, even though the restaurant was pretty empty (8pm on a Sat night?!?!?). We started out with two of their signature drinks, the smoked old fashioned, done with rum, and my wife had the coquina. My smoked old fashioned was simply amazing. Smoked at the table and in the top 5 drinks I've ever had. I tried my wife's coquina and it was so good as well. Our server was really good and honest about food and drink opinions. We ordered a cheese plate to munch on while looking at the menu. A nice presentation of cheddar, havarti, and house made sage cheese with some toasted bread, olives, candied nuts were really good . Next came the beef Bradenton and the soup of the day. The beef Bradenton lacked flavor and the beef was over done. A miss on this . The soup of the day was a mozzarella cheese soup with broccoli. Sooo different, unique, and excellent. Every bite was delicious . For main courses, I got the arroz congri and mojo pork. We live in Southeast Florida and there's always a debate about Miami Cuban food vrs Tampa area Cuban food. I'm biased to southeast Florida Cuban food, this version of congri and mojo marinated pork was really really good . Pork was amazingly tender and moist . The congri hit the spot. The side of mango and papaya really upped the level of the dish, My wife got the shrimp gambitto. The waitress told us it was the most popular dish. I thought it was good, but not amazing . Pasta was a bit over cooked and the dish was very oily. It had great flavor though. For dessert we tried the key lime pudding . It would have been much better had it been served in a graham cracker shell or topped with graham cracker crumbs. It needed that graham cracker texture to balance out the creamy ness of the key lime pudding . It was just ok to be honest . Overall I'd say this place is a huge hit if you order correctly. I am giving credit for the really good service and the risk the chef is taking with some of these dishes. You can tell real thought goes into the menu.

Great Menu.

Great selection of entrees! I had the Cubano sandwich which is the best I've had. Really is an amazing menu, lots of choices. Note: this isn't a burger, fries and fried fish place, much higher end restaurant but at great prices. Hello Augie

Do they have happy hour?

Their website says they have "a great happy hour" but we've only gone for lunch or brunch so I do t know for certain.

Ok. I've done all sorts of Yelp searches for this area, and but somehow i missed this place on my…read moreradar. As we wandered about looking for someplace for dinner (the place we had intended for the evening was maxed out with one large party, so needed to look elsewhere) realized we just happened upon a place we had driven by a couple of times called "The Doctors Office". They had a beautiful garden area outside where people were dining, but it was a pretty warm night, so decided to check out the inside - where we found a really cool space and were greeted by the host asking: "Do you have an appointment?" (Get it? Doctors office...reservations...appointment!? Too cute a play on the doctor's office thing! : ) Well, we did NOT have said appointment (and the main dining area was quite full!) but thankfully there was one table remaining in the back lounge area, which was through a hidden door made to look like a bookshelf! This area also had its own cool vibe. Waiter (Matt) immediately placed two little medicine cups in front of us - to sample their cherry rum punch. Delish. I ordered a cocktail (cannot recall the name but along the lines of a manhattan) while my DH stayed with red wine (boooooo-ring! ; ) We shared the smoked salmon appetizer (super yummo!) Then on to dinner. OK, we're talking seafood country here! But, over the course of the several days we've been here, I ordered seafood every single time. I adore seafood but was ready for something else. So, was being realistic when I ordered something on the beef realm. Got the short rib dish and it did not disappoint. It was excellent. Maybe not the "easily shredded with a fork" ones I have had elsewhere, but certainly super tasty and not at all tough or fatty. DH got the shrimp-lobster tacos and said they were incredible! No leftovers coming home with this guy! Our waiter, Matt, was new to this establishment (but not waitering) and was attentive and personable - above and beyond. Would highly recommend. No, you're not going to get any water views (this place is sort of hidden away in an obscure spot behind a plaza) but well worth the visit!

The appetizers and drinks were good right off the bat, but things went downhill from there. It…read morestarted looking like it was going to rain, so we asked the hostess if we could move inside if the weather turned. She rudely told us it would be fine and that we could just move to another table if we started getting rained on--which made zero sense since we'd still be outside. I figured everyone has a bad day, so we let it go. Unfortunately, the entrees were disappointing. The portions were way too small, the food wasn't nearly good enough for the price point, and the fish was severely overcooked. I probably wouldn't come back here for dinner, but if you're just looking for a good spot to grab drinks, it's worth a try.
