I'm glad we decided to try this place today. We shared the chicken tenders, okra, and mac n chz. I LOVE the mac n chz!!!! It didn't taste like fast food mac n chz at all, super delicious. The tenders were really good too, and so many dipping sauce options are available to go with. Next time I will try the fried chicken. Our first experience was thru the online app. I came to pick up my order, and walked into an empty store but not acknowledged by the girl working there. I said I was here to pick up an online order and just got a "yea". Then she walks by after grabbing the order and without saying anything, drops it on the table. I'm standing right there, and she can't even at least say "here's your order". I awkwardly walk toward the bag to kind of look thru the stuff to see if it's mine, and it was. I tell her my order came with drinks, "oh I forgot" and without a smile or any eye contact, hands me the cups. The last few times I have eaten here the service has been good thru the drive through or the Doordash person was alright. The good itself not so much the wise its fine but could use a tad bit less salt. They continue to forget times when I do doordash. Today my doordash was missing the dressing for the salad. And the manager seemed very unbothered when I advised her that I had to come there to get dressing that should have been included in the bag to begin with. time before I didn't get my drink. It Would have been nice to Hear some sense of an apology but she just looked at me and asked so do you want the dressing and drink. Umm yea that would be nice since I paid for it. You all should maybe try getting some customer service training from Chick-if-la granted they have never forgott anything from my order so there's that. We have used Slim Chickens drive thru several times as well as in house dining and the food has always been hot and fresh. This last time ( take out ) the food had evidently been cooked ahead of time. The French fries were limp and soggy, as well as the toast. My chicken wings were definitely not cooked when I ordered them, greasy and cold. My wife's chicken tenders were good but the fries and toast we the same as mine. read more

Went today for dinner. I ordered the same thing I order every time. And honestly, every time it's a crap shoot on whether I'm going to get what I ordered. Seems like the people who make food at this location don't care about their job. I randomly got TON of tomatoes on an Smokey cheddar wrap which does NOT come with tomatoes. This place is great if you need a quick chicken and waffles fix without going to a sit down restaurant. I always get chicken and waffles here and the waffle is really good. The strips are pretty good too and are similar to Cane's in that they are both way better with some type of sauce. I like their buffalo sauce. Had to wait for my food in Drive thru for 10mins. I had to pull up to wait . Upon receiving my food I checked to make sure Ive received everything ....my fries was very cold . I told the worker ... re said okay ... please tell me why did she send the Mgr out . The Mgr question me about my fries . She started out saying the just came out fryer . The chicken tenders were good, but the fried mushrooms and peach fried pie were EXCELLENT. We tried the blue cheese, honey mustard and buffalo sauces, and we were happy. The wings are great. My issue is with pricing on extras such as dessert, sides or sodas. When you order a combo, they ask or you want to upgrade to a large drink for $.50. What? No discount pricing when you purchase a combo meal? The soda costs pennies. If you do upgrade, they give you a plastic cup. Do you get a discount with the cup during future visits? NOPE! Desserts are very pricy. Sides are even pricier. They aren't nice when you ask about the extras being so high. I like the food, but don't plan on visiting again. My 8 wing combo meal came with a side and Texas toast and a 16oz drink. $10.60. I think that is pricey for a drive through. This part of my post is to respond to the gentleman from Slim Chickens. I realize there is a discount for a combo price, but maybe you didn't read my comment properly. I was commenting on outlandish charge to upgrade to a larger soda being a whopping $.50! McDonald charges $.39 to get a larger fry AND a larger drink. Soda fountain drinks have the most mark up. It's costs pennies to upgrade a soda. It should be a discounted upgrade charge if you purchase a combo meal. No more than $.25. I also see that instead of addressing my issues, you instead used this as an opportunity to place a few advertisement. You didn't respond that I've been treated poorly a few times. You didn't respond when I said you shouldn't be charging so much for combo upgrades, or adding a side or purchasing a dessert. You basically ignored my complaints in favor of promoting your business agenda. You made me want to return even less. I notice there was absolutely no apology for your employees being rude to me. You might have won me over if you maybe offered my a one time free dessert. Nope. My concerns were ignored. I won't be recommending your company to anyone! read more

ZERO STARS! I've had Yelp for years and never felt the need to submit a review until now. Spent $28 here and the only thing that was somewhat decent was the Mac n cheese. The chicken doesn't taste like it was cooked all the way, potato salad had more mayonnaise than potatoes, and the fries are loaded with salt. I ordered the fried pickles and they were just thrown under the chicken tenders so by the time got home they were soggy and gross and they made my chicken have a slight taste of pickles. And they also put the sauces in the box so they are hot by the time you get home. They obviously need to train their cooks proper cook times before someone becomes ill. read more

This was my first time here and Its alright. The food itself doesn't necessarily taste bad, but Raising Canes is better in my book. I got the 3 strip meal and ordered through the drive thru and as we were driving away I was a little upset that the fries were a little cold. I got home and realized I wasn't given Texas toast with the meal, but noticed I had a TON of fries, which maybe is to make up for the no bread, I'm not sure. I did like the strips and the BBQ sauce. I think part of it could be that this location is very new, like I said this was my first time eating there. Probably will try again sometime. read more

In a city full of drive-thru chicken options, Slim Chickens is an unexpected surprise. More options than Raising Canes, and (much) less expensive than Chicken Express or KFC. The wings aren't "wingstop" or "BWW" good, but the sauces can hold their own (we had honey BBQ and cayenne ranch). And their jar desserts is the best dessert option for a drive-thru anywhere. Some of our order got messed up and we were missing one of our meals out of an already big meal. NO BIG DEAL. The most amazing two employees helped us out. There names were Sonia and Jalen! They were so kind and helpful getting us even complimentary desserts and constantly checking on us to make sure our visit was the best that it could be! Not bad, typical chicken joint. IMO it's basically the same concept as raising canes but better. I like how they offer several different sauces to go with your chicken instead of just honey mustard. They have 4 huge flat screen TVS with something different on each TV, typically sports. So if your tired of looking at your stupid phone there's that option to watch TV. read more

Been wanting to try this place since it opened and now I did and don't ever have to worry about going back! Terrible food. We got a tenders meal and an order of fried pickles. The fried pickles were so salty that they were inedible. The chicken had the opposite problem, absolutely zero flavor. It came with "Slim Sauce" which was a cheap imitation of a competitor's sauce. It also came with fries which were not good either. The only redeeming quality about this meal was the chicken was definitely of a high quality. Pretty good. It was very busy this evening and my husband waited for a while in the drive-thru. Totally understandable since they just opened. I'd say the food is good quality, but could use some adjustments. Chicken is as close to a homecooked tender as any of the box joints can give you, but could use a step up in the flavor department. To claim it's life changing is overstepping by a large margin. Mango Habanero is my favorite sauce. The fries were way over salted, and I wish the seasoning mix had a little different flavor balance. A little sugar might actually make a big difference (a la Wingstop). Okra was fine, macaroni and cheese was great. Like, gr9, even. Overall I'd say it's good, but I'd need another visit to really determine whether or not this is a place I'll keep in heavy rotation. We've seen this place in our weekly drives through the area for groceries and our weekly dinner dates. After more than a month of suggesting Slim Chickens to my wife for a quick dinner, I finally got my wish. The environment was very warm, welcoming, and clean. And the staff seemed friendly as well. I also have to give Slim Chickens props for offering several condiments. There were too many to choose from and with a hungry wife, I chose ketchup. I got a puzzled look from the cashier and I probably should have tried one of the sauces, but having never been here before I decided it was a good idea to go classic with my Chick Plate (Fries, drink, and 3 tenders.) My wife ordered the chicken and waffle plate (3 tenders, an unhealthy dollop of butter, a generous portion of pre-poured syrup, and a Texas shaped waffle.) I washed my hands in the restroom and came back to the table and was surprised by how quickly they had served us our food. However, Slim Chickens is fast food so I shouldn't have been surprised. What truly surprised me was that Slim Chickens charged us $16 and we got pretty small portions. There are several fast food chicken chains that I have sworn off over the years for charging me too much for tiny tenders. These were child sized and I'm a man, so I wasn't too happy about that. The waffle was large, which was great for my wife and it also tasted great too. The french fries were also better than most other fast food chicken establishments. But coming back to the chicken, this was worse than most. Fried chicken that isn't crispy is one thing. Chic-Fil-A does this and I believe Raising Canes does this as well. At least they have flavor. Slim Chicken's tiny tenders had no flavor. They were fried and they were chicken, but they were also devoid of flavor. When my wife begs me for fried chicken and this is what we get, I had to apologize to her and tell her this wouldn't happen again. We can get more chicken with more flavor and at a better price elsewhere. read more

So normally the service here is great, today was not normal. I'll be the first to admit when it's hot my patience runs thin and today is HOT! I ordered through the drive through "large fry and large sweet tea" the guy hurried me through and I got no total due until I pulled to the window. $10 and some change! When I protested he said you wanted a large tea and the ginormous fries? I corrected him and apologized that I just wanted a normal size fry. He changed the total and told me it was $5.79. I started to get my money out, as it was the first time I was given a total and he disappeared and closed the window. Again normal doesn't apply here because it's HOT out. He finally comes back, takes my money gives me change and then vanishes again. I waited an additional 5 min until he handed me a ginormous fry and my drink. It wasn't bad service it just wasn't GOOD service either. Little tip Slim, when it's hot out get people their drink first, prior to chattering with your friends from the comfort of the air conditioned building while we sit with our windows down facing the sun waiting on you. The cayenne ranch chicken sandwich is bomb! The chicken could've been a tad bit more preseasoned but it was still tasty. The fried pickles were great except for some of them being clumped together. The chicken and waffles were delicious but the chicken could've been crispier and I'd order it without butter or butter on the side cuz it does it soggy quick. Condiments make a huge difference. The fried mushrooms are the best ever! The problem with getting them to go. No matter how many times you ask them not to, they put the ranch in the thin little plastic cup in the box with the mushrooms. You get home and the cup is a melted blob and you mushrooms are soggy with ranch dressing everywhere. Just put the ranch in the bag separately and problem solved! read more

First time at Slim Chickens, and this location is obviously still going through its "shakedown" phase (this location just opened). But very friendly service, and the food was quite good. I don't know if the chicken and sauces are any better than Raising Cain's (a VERY similar eatery) but Slim Chickens has a far broader menu. Certainly worth going back. read more

I went to Slim on a Saturday afternoon. Customer service was great, and the food smelled promising. I got in the car to drive home and I sampled the fries. They were warm, but clearly cooked too long. Super crispy. I don't prefer my fries this way, but I know some do. As for the chicken -- it was sub par. I know they offer a whole lot more but I think that's what is so special about Zaxbys and Raising Canes -- they stick to something and perfect it. Not everyone is going to be Chick Fil A. The chicken was soft and the slim sauce really didn't have much flavor. I don't think I'll be back to be honest. My 7.99 could have been spent somewhere else.
