I ordered online and got 4 tenders fries and buffalo sauce for dipping. I open it after getting back home. The fries were cold and undercooked as well as the chicken and I got ranch. I drive back up there and was told it would be remade. I get my food for the second time and the chicken was still cold!!!! No steam or heat on the chicken at all. My first impression was the size of the tenders. Only slightly bigger than a McNugget. These tenders were real chicken but underwhelming. We had to hang our coats in the basement; they smelled so strongly of grease after our half-hour visit. I ordered the three-piece tenders with fries. My husband ordered the five-piece tenders with fries. Texas Toast is a filler. Do people eat it? We wondered how families with two and three children can afford to eat there when the three-piece tenders meal is a small meal for $6.99. Tried this place out last night as a last resort after the first two places my family and I attempted to go were crazy busy. When we first walked in I expected to be greeted by a slightly annoyed cashier since it was about 45 minutes before closing, this wasn't the case at all. The cashier was enthusiastic about explaining the menu to us newbies and you could tell he really liked the food as well as working for this company. The prices were a bit steep for fast food, in my opinion, but we soon found out it was worth it. We all got chicken strips and some of us opted for Mac and cheese instead the standard fries. I would definitely recommend doing so, the Mac and cheese was perfectly cheesy and very flavorful. Everything was made fresh as we ordered it and our chicken came out piping hot and was very good. Their homemade sauces were great as well, everyone tried something different so we could share, some of my faves were the spicy BBQ, the slim sauce and their house ranch. After we finished the cashier again came over to talk with is about our experience and brought us to go containers. He also recommended their mason jar desserts, they looked delicious but we were so full we had to pass until next time. read more

GREAT place to eat! Finally something different from your typical fast food joint. Loved the fried mushrooms and you get a ton. Homemade sauces are tasty. Chicken tenders tasted like real chicken and were hand breaded, you get a lot of food in a meal....finished it off with a Reese's dessert jar...mmmm...is all I can say. We were looking for a place to eat July 4 when lots of places are closed and this place was open. We each got the sampler of 3 wings and 3 tenders and substituted cole slaw and potato salad for our fries. BTW the potato salad has bacon. We also added an order of fried okra to share. The drinks came with the meal and the total was $24. This was good food. The sides were big especially the okra. We ended up taking food home. We were there about 8pm. Love this place - great atmosphere with nice décor and it is always clean. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We do drive through sometimes as well, and it is a bit longer wait than McDonald's, but the food is freshly made when you order it, so worth a little more time. The food is yummy - I love the Slim's salad - very tasty. Other favorites of mine are the tenders with gravy dipping sauce, mac and cheese, fried mushrooms, potato salad and the strawberry cheesecake dessert in a jar (that you get to keep!). My husband really loves all the different dipping sauces and sometimes orders his tenders "grilled and shaken". Prices are about what you would pay at similar restaurants of this quality. Went on a Saturday at noon. Great service and the food was fresh and great. The restaurant was very clean, too. Three of us ordered a 3 and 3 (3 wings & 3 tenders), a 5 tender and a 3 tender, fries, fried okra and fried pickles. Slim sauce, ranch, gravy and bleu cheese. We had enough food to feed two more people, which we took home with us. The bleu cheese was really good and the chicken was great. We also tried a jar dessert, which was yummy, too. Visited for lunch today. I had never heard of this place before as I am from out of town, but the Yelp reviews were great so I tried it. I had the 3 and 3 combo (3 tenders, 3 wings) with Mac and cheese. The wings I had were tossed in buffalo sauce. Tenders plain. Both were fantastic. I could have ate 3 more of each. Mac and Cheese was great as well. The Texas Toast that came with it was great also. It had a slight garlic taste. I got ranch dipping sauce and gravy for my other dipper. The gravy was not special but went well with the Texas toast and the tenders. The real standout was the wings. They were possibly the best I've ever had. The restaurant was clean and new looking, quick service and delivery of food. If I had the money I would start a franchise back in St. Louis, to introduce everyone there to this fantastic place. Only negative would be the portion sizes are a little small for the price. My meal cost $10.10, which is a little pricey for basically 6 pieces of chicken and some Mac and cheese and bread. The menu is limited and they are VERY SLOW. It took over 25 minutes from when they handed us our ticket to when they delivered our food (time is stamped on ticket). Ok. I stumbled upon this place yesterday after getting my carwash. It was getting late and I was hungry. I pulled in and looked up the website from my car and decided I would give this place a try. I love chicken fingers and I was hoping that this place would fill the void of not being near a Raising Canes or Zaxby's. When I walked in I was greeted with a smile. They guy taking my order was very nice and he gave me time to look over the menu because I told him I had not been there before. I like that they offer strip/wing combos because I was able to try two things at once. I had the 3 strip 3 wing combo. I had teriyaki wings with cayenne ranch and I got a slim sauce. The slim sauce looked like Cane's sauce so that's what I was expecting. The food took a little time but it wasn't a long wait. The tenders are really good. They have a nice breading and they were juicy. They are also a nice size. The wings were ok. I probably will not come here when I have a craving for wings though. The fries were ok. They were kind of dry. I liked the cayenne ranch sauce. It had just the right kick. The slim sauce was ok. I kept tasting something sweet and it threw the flavor off for me. The Texas toast needs work. Now on this, they really do need to take a page out of Canes book. The bread was limp and I didn't even see the toasted marks. It was not buttery and it was not crunchy. I threw it away. I like the design of the place. The service was great. I didn't try the dessert in a jar. I'll have to try that on my next visit. read more

My wife and I are always looking for new places to eat for lunch and she works from home so she meets me at whatever place we decide on. So this means two cars and double the gas so it better be at least half way decent and most places are. We walked in Slim Chickens off 40 HWY and noticed it was a "fast food" type restaurant and not a "be seated" type place. Ok, no problem except - Yikes! The prices are pretty high for fast food! My wife doesn't eat much so she asked for the Kids Tender Meal. The lady behind the cashier said, "Please hold on, I have to ask my manager about that." My wife and I looked at each other puzzled. She came back and said, "You have to be 14 or under to order that meal. My wife said, "That's Ok, I won't eat." I looked at my wife and said, "Let's just go somewhere else." We left and I don't think we'll be returning. Who doesn't let ANYONE order from the kids menu these days?!?! I could see if it was children 14 and under eat free, but it wasn't free. 400 pm 7/15/16. I made my first visit a couple hours ago. I rarely give 5 stars to any restaurant. A WARNING to all who are nut allergic!! The deserts are made at the same time and may contain nuts. I bought 2 of the Strawberry Cheese cake deserts and they had nuts in them that shouldn't have been. To the owner, a warning sign must be posted at the check out/dessert case. I visited the restroom soon as I walked in and it was clean even though we visited during a slow period. I enjoyed the chicken but, should be a bit lower in cost. Also, my great granddaughter and I both got luke warm fries while my wife got hot fries. Not a complaint, just an observation. The cashier was friendly and courteous as was the others. Courtesy, on your part, in this type of establishment is to police your own trash to alleviate the employees workload. Don't blame the employees for not clearing tables. This is not full service restaurant. I did not witness anyone of the employees standing around. They all kept busy doing their job. It is nice to see employees that appreciate their job and care for quality which is VERY rare in an establishment that serves food. I hope this continues as I will visit frequently. As a side note to the owner. Build in Liberty, Mo so I don't have to drive so far. read more
