absolutely incredible donuts! my husband is a chef and has created and made his own donuts. with the talent comes picky and very specific taste and HE LOVED THEM! We had one of each of the following : matcha, fruity pebbles, crumb cake, trail mix cake, apple fritter& a peanut butter pillow! my favorite easily was the crumb cake which seems simple but the cake was perfectly cooked and not dry whatsoever! absolutely have to visit when in SLO. read more

This place is delightfully delicious, such an array of colors and flavors. I was overwhelmed. Price is a little steep, but it's well worth it. All the donuts I've tried are absolutely amazing, and don't forget the flavored coffees they have as well. Creme Brulee being my favorite dessert, I just had to get the Creme Brulee donut, yummy. I strongly recommend you stop by for donut coffee. read more

Words can not describe how amazing these donuts are. Not only do they taste incredible but they are so beautiful and unique! Early Saturday morning and all they have are a limited selection of their over sweetened fancy donuts. No glazed basic donuts. A glazed donut!! How do you call yourselves a donut shop?! Talk about a VAST selection of donuts!! And major choices for vegan and GF donuts. It took me a minute to determine which I would try on today's trip. I went Thai Tea, Galaxy (IG fave, basically a colored, marshmallow masterpiece), Sangria cake, Lavender infused, Fruity Pebbles, matcha (getting the VAST reference?) and a Thai Tea to drink. They change the specials every month and they change the options every few hours. Totally different than anything I've seen in the Bay Area. The employees were super nice and helpful and I didn't feel rushed to make decisions even with several customers waiting behind. A pretty large area to sit and work on your laptop or eat a treat. In the hour that I needed to work on my computer they had a ton of foot traffic. When they didn't, they were cleaning (good sign!). Strange Doobie Bros music selection playing (considering the staff were all Y Gen??) but I can forgive that!! Cute little space, games to play with friends if need be and a Music area for artists to perform. Plenty of parking out front. This is definitely a step up from some Dunkin! read more

Lots of beautiful pictures and nice seasonal specials, but last Sunday it was just the regulars and they are just regular. I bought 4 donuts, and only truly enjoyed the old fashioned. It's simple, cake donut with light glazing, sweet but not obnoxiously and just clean. The red velvet did have a cream cheese frosting, but had almost as much frosting my as donut. The cake itself was pretty good, so wiping of excess frosting fixed that issue. The chocolate cake donut with coconut shavings on top was exactly as described. Again not too sweet, pretty solid choice if you are in to those flavors. Lastly the Thai Tea. I had hoped this would be unusual and good, but the Orange frosting on top barely added any flavor. So the donut was basically a plain donut with coconut shavings, not what I envisioned and not something I liked. read more

Great place . Pretty clean. Staff was okay. I was exited that they had gluten free and vegan donuts they were pretty good for not being regular donut but the lavender one was terrible. I felt like I got punch in the throat with drops of essential oil. Very pleasing to look at but nothing super special than other donuts if anything the créeme brûlée one was the most delicious one out of all. read more

it is impossible not to love this place. Sure everybody loves their donuts. Galaxy donuts, who would have thought. But it is also a great place to study with good WiFi. You just need self control so you don't end up weighting like 400 lbs. - So I wrote this review, started thinking about SloDoCo Donuts, and I am now in the car heading over there for a fix. I go in there at like 7:00pm and not that busy....and they have NO Maple donuts or Maple Bars. Heck most of their shelves were empty. SLO Donut Co and you don't have Maple donuts and a pretty freaking small inventory of DONUTS!!! Then I ask when they will be making more and the guys like "I don't know maybe after 8". MAYBE after 8:00. Are you guys amateurs or a real freaken donut shop? Disappointing. read more

I'm not a donut person but SloDoCo donuts are bomb!! I've never had donuts like these!! It's good quality donuts, everything we got was on point flavor wise!!! I really enjoyed the matcha green tea and lavender donut!! Also, the Nutella stuffed pillow was my favorite! I will definitely come back here the next time I'm around SLO. read more

Wow, they are open 24/7. This reminds me of Psycho donuts in terms of the crazy flavors but they are much much better than Psycho when it comes the quality and taste of the donuts. Probably the first 24/7 donut shop I have ever been to. I like the layout of the store, selection of the donuts, the Cal Poly staff vibe, and atmosphere. I have never ordered drinks here. Just donuts. I have tried some of their vegan and gluten free donuts. They are okay. Their regular donuts are pretty good. Some donuts don't have a strong flavor like their Thai tea donuts or coconut donuts. Sometimes they have cool themed donuts like the galaxy, Star Wars tribute or the tie-dyed colors inside of the donuts. Pretty sure they aren't naturally colored ones. read more

Highly recommended by my friends, and it didn't disappoint. They have a beautiful assortment of donuts to choose from, and everything I tried was really good. I got the galaxy donut, freshly baked from the oven! The galaxy donut has a marshmallow flavored glaze, and it's a bit on the too sweet side, but I still like it a lot. The Thai tea we ordered was bitter after taking a bite out of my donut. Ambience is super casual, and there's plenty of seating. They also have some board games stocked up for you to play with friends. It's also open 24/7 apparently, so if I were a strident at SLO, I'd definitely be here quite often. read more

You haven't truly experienced SLO until you've tried SLODOCO. They have an extremely wide assortment of donuts and are open 24/7. I usually get the old fashioned, buttermilk bar, plain cake, or just a bunch of cream puffs. Although I don't really like donuts, I do enjoy the ambiance here. It's a cute study spot with decent WiFi, a cool place for dessert, and a pillar in the SLO community. read more

I got only their gluten free donuts. The lavender was overpowering and tasted like an actual lavender plant. I definitely would have preferred a more subtle taste. The maple was good but both donuts were pretty dry and not very flavorful (this happens with gluten free). It's hard to make an excellent gluten free donut so if you're dying to have a donut, this will curb your need. read more

Seriously SLO DO $2.40 for a regular chocolate bar? What the heck I?!! When buying it I ask , "Has the price increased? Seems higher." Response " Just a little bit." When up at the register paying, I say again, "Seems prices are higher?" Response " Just a little bit". Seems that's the response staff was told to say when questioned. This wasn't any large or even fancy donut. As plain as can be. And the price increase wasn't "just a little bit" it was A LOT!!! You've lost my business by trying to rip me off. Very pretty donuts but that's about it. I felt incredibly rushed while choosing what I wanted and there was no one behind me waiting. The staff are not warm and looked like they wanted to be anywhere else. The donuts had the weirdest taste to them I couldn't place it but every donut had it and I had to throw them all out as no one liked them. The only semi decent one was the creme brûlée but it was soggy and falling apart at the bottom since they piped it up the middle from the bottom and not through the sides. Very pricey for pretty mediocre tasting donuts. Not a fan, won't be back. read more

Jessi and Jake Pickering are kind of the cool kids in town. They surf, they're nice, and they have great taste. So, Jesse and Jake started a donut shop that embodied their personal style, and put their passion for excellence into developing some of the world's most perfect, most creative donuts. They sell locally roasted, ethically sourced coffee and espresso that is custom blended for SLODoCo (and delicious). In shadows cast beneath a quiet moon, I ventured to SloDoCo, a sweet retreat, Where even when a doughnut does not swoon, It's better here than anywhere you'll eat. The boysenberry pillow stole my heart, Soft and rich, a dreamy cosmic feast. The old-fashioned too, a simple work of art, Elegance itself, to say the least. Though others didn't shine quite as bright, The chai cream cheese and maple missed, But even so, compared to most, the bite Still left me craving what I couldn't resist. The pumpkin spice was pleasant, though not grand, And lemon jelly tried, though it fell flat. Yet lavender gluten-free, so light and bland, Still ranks above most doughnut shops I've sat. Then came the devil's food, a bitter bite, But better still than many I've had before. The mint, though cold, did not extinguish light-- A taste unique, worth giving one more score. Perfect late night munchies spot. The great thing about SloDoCo is that it's open 24/7, so it's really one of the few places to grab a quick bite to eat when it's 2 in the morning. The donuts are absolutely delicious; I've only tried the chocolate pillow (literally a chocolaty chocolate pillow), the maple bacon bar (my favorite - tastes just like pancakes and maple syrup), the peanut butter pillow (too much PB for me), and a bunch of different sprinkled or plain donuts. I usually try to keep it somewhat "healthy" by just getting a small maple covered old fashioned donut; their old fashioned donuts have great chewy texture and taste. The environment of this donut shop is very casual and inviting; usually tons of college students hanging out or people studying/on their laptops (free wi-fi!). The staff is very friendly and polite, always asking you how your day was; if you follow them on twitter or facebook, they have daily contests where you can get yourself a free donut! A bad experience can cost businesses revenue and lost customers. Poor customer service creates a ripple effect, damaging a brand's reputation. For many people, faith is a core component of their identity. It is probably best to err on the side of caution and not express opinions on religion, especially in front of customers. During a recent visit, one of your staff made several disparaging remarks related to a coworker's beliefs. Your employees cannot assume that any comments, so long as they're directed at a coworker's religion, cannot be harmful to customers. Christianity is the most dominant religion and has been for centuries. SloCo should consider training staff on customer service and proper etiquette when attending to customers. The success of a business relies on several factors, most importantly, how a customer feels after they leave. read more

Really Like the buttery croissants , but really the place needs better customer service! I'm very disappointed today ( Oct 14th, 2015 ) at around 9 am went in for my favorite donuts. we ordered a large cup of coffee, but I accidentally spilled half of it all over myself, from the high counter. I was charged for another cup, two more dollars for a small, they threw me a rag and said wipe it up off the floor and counter for myself. RUDE! It spilled all over my new clothes, and they would rather me wipe their floor then the coffee off of me. They did ask me if I got burned.. YES on the extra charge of coffee. all you cared about was your floor and money. pretty rude guys. Thanks alot , you used to be my favorite place. Pretty low. read more

On an escape weekend from the Bay Area we wandered into the newly opened Active donut shop because hubby loves coffee. Friendly welcoming staff create a comfortable environment. They serve a menu of drinks with a cloud which is homemade cotton candy. This is quite popular in Asia for the goodies. Hubby had his standard cappuccino with two shots. I always ask him to rate the drink on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best coffee drink he has ever had. This was 8 to 9. 10 for him is having cappuccino in Italy. High bar! The owner was there and he asked us if we liked the coffee so I told him about the rating. He was thrilled. We returned the next day for another coffee and donuts look forward to coming back. read more

I have to respectfully disagree with most here: these donuts are very heavy, the dough just isn't light or fluffy like how a donut should be. Tastes like you're eating bread. Couldn't stop chewing the damn thing. Beyond that thanks for making all the donut shops raise prices bc of you guys. I feel bad writing this bc the staff is nice and I'm sure the business owners mean well, I just wish you'd take a look at just how heavy the dough is in your products and stop raising prices year after year for the same product. If you want a real, lightweight donut made by Asians who are master bakers go to Sunshine Donuts. But thanks to these guys I gotta to pay a $1.25 per donut when it used to cost $0.85 two years ago. read more

Hands down the best donut spot in San Luis Obispo! Everything here is always fresh, and you really can't beat the value for how great the quality is. My absolute favorite has to be their maple bars--they are soft, incredibly fresh, and perfectly made every single time. Beyond the amazing pastries, the staff is super friendly and welcoming, making it an even better place to hang out or get some work done. SloDoCo is just a fun place to grab a nice variety of donuts. Before Covid they would have live music and comedians, but for the time being it is easy to swing by and pick something up. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon because it is such a great place to hang out, meet friends, or study, but in the meantime it is easy to pick up something and it feels safe with the limited people allowed inside, hand sanitizer at the door, and distancing between customers. It is nice to still enjoy the array of donuts and pastries while waiting to be able to chill inside again. It is kind of a requirement to visit SloDoCo if you are a Cal Poly student. read more

Excellent donuts and shop...My family and I came in the morning and tried the Nutella, Boysenberry, and one of those new docro things. All 3 were some of the best donuts ive had...unique, not too oily, and just the prime amount of fillings. The coffee was also delicious. The reason for the 3 stars is the rude service. We were helped by an unhappy girl of red-ish hair with visibly forced politeness...I felt we were bothering her by simply being there. Other customers before us seemed dumbfounded as well. I love coming to this place for studying late at night. As a college student, it's really hard to find places besides the library to study late so this place is a great option for that. I have been coming in a lot more recently and always have such a good experience. The music is always really good and the customer service is always great. The past two times I came a girl Miranda helped me and she was so friendly and genuinely seemed like she liked her job which is hard to come by. The line was out the door and she helped me really fast but was still very personable. I'll be coming back! read more

Donuts are good, but slow customer service. Always takes forever to get a donut. I have actually walked out a few times because I didn't want to wait in line 15 minutes for a donut. They need more help at the counter. One time I came in and there were a bunch of kids working in back who didn't come to the front to help us in line. Also, my favorite donut is always out. I have come in to get a custard filled donut 4 times and every time they didn't have it. Perhaps they should make more?? read more

Just left SLO location and I am disgusted. Watched the girl come from the back with a glove on...OK . she used that hand and put my 2 donuts in the bag ...ok. Kept the glove on took my money..made change with the glove on and then proceeded to get the next patrons donuts using the SAME GLOVE. COVID ASIDE , MONEY IS DIRTY . But the girl (Andie) behind the counter is the worst, and it looks from reviews that I'm not the only one that thinks so. SloDoCo is always getting creative with their flavors and designs, which definitely brings more people in to see what is new! Definitely a stop you have to hit to truly experience SLO. The galaxy donuts have thick marshmallow icing, and while it looks awesome, it wasn't edible. Besides that, love the wide variety of flavors and their apple cider is fantastic. read more
