The food is amazing here i wont deny it,everything is good,personally good service and ambiance is really good i like it tbh i would definitely recommend! BUT be warned the cooling system here could be better..they have fans so sitting somewhere just to stay cool in a hot day is a struggle,if you come here choose wisely where you sit...that's the only issue here other than that everything here is so perfect and i have nothing bad to say about this place
I can confirm S'mac still has it going on. Really nothing much has changed. The interior takes me back to my college years, it's still orange hued and woodsy, but now there's self ordering kiosks! Choose your size and your flavor option. If you're feeling bold, create your own combination. And in a few minutes you'll be delivered crusty, cheesy, goodness. I ordered the alpine, which came with mushroom, rosemary and fig pieces and left satisfied. The figs added a nice sweetness. The mushroom cut through the richness, but there was still plenty of cheese for that cheese pull. Truthfully I couldn't even finish the small size, because it was so much. But still, S'mac scratches that nostalgic itch of food that still hits after all these years.
The masala Mac was really yummy. Super flavorful and the cheese was great. Like the different sizes they have too. Service was pretty quick.
I don't know how many years I've been coming here but I don't care how far the drive is but it's worth it! The service is still the same, fast pace and great! I wish the place was bigger though. There is nothing to complain; The food is done to perfection, made your own way/ how you like it.
Unfortunately I don't have many pictures of this little corner spot. My kid and I decided to grab some mac n cheese after our long ass day in the city before heading home. This place did not disappoint- it's really not the spot for sit down and dine in - if i had pictures you'd see why. However the mac was bomb and a great serving size for the both of us. I added some grilled chicken to it for the sake of protein. You place your order at the kiosk and wait - food was out in less than 10 minutes. I definitely recommend this spot and i will be revisiting. Next time i will take some pics of inside.

I found this place because I literally searched for "Mac and cheese" as I was craving my favorite food! There's a similar concept in Houston, so I was thrilled to find a new Mac-and-cheese-devoted restaurant in my new city!! When I arrived, it was almost 3pm so the restaurant was pretty empty, although it actually started to pick up a bit by the time I left. You order directly from a kiosk and you'll pick a table number so that they can bring it to you as soon as it's ready. I did a build-your-own option as I'm vegetarian and also wanted a specific flavor due to being a cheese snob. The Mac came out quick, piping hot and oh so fresh! It's served in its own little skillet, which helps keep it warm and is also just really cute. It was sooo delicious!! I combined gruyere with Munster cheese, added spinach and garlic then topped it with bread crumbs. Mmm mmm MMM! Also, they have a water dispenser near the entrance to the kitchen! I was happy that flavored sparkling water was sold here as I don't drink sodas, but I also snagged some free water while I was at it. Since summer is here, just know that they don't seem to have AC here! The restaurant was very open-concept. I chose to sit near a fan and the open "window" area in order to enjoy a breeze along with my meal.
I'm not the biggest mac and cheese fan but S'mac is a game-changer. The Masala did not hold back on the spices. So much flavor that adds depth to plain ol' mac and cheese. The Buffalo Chicken is packed with chicken pieces and plenty saucy. Honestly, a "nosh" was plenty enough for me since it is a very heavy and loaded mac and cheese. My boyfriend housed his "major munch" no problem (big appetite). S'MAC is a super casual spot--they have little kiosks in the front to order and you grab a number and a table and wait for a fresh mac and cheese skillet that they serve you.
Self order spot. If you're craving a Mac n cheese day, this is your spot. They have lots of options to add on, garlic, mushrooms, broccoli.. everything! You can choose to add bread crumbs which I recommend. Happy I made a stop here while visiting.
Have known about this place for years, but never stopped by until recently - not bad! Good variety of menu options of Mac 'n' Cheese, very filling portions, and reasonable-ish prices. It's a relatively small, laid-back joint with just 1 chef and 1 other person running things - yet people get served promptly enough. You can serve yourself water from a tank, or you can order any number of soft drinks or beer as well. They have a touchscreen ordering system that's pretty straightforward, you're given a number and served within 5-10 minutes tops. If it's your first visit, definitely recommend the sampler platter - has easily enough food for one person or a solid amount to share for two, and you get to try all of their main varieties of Mac 'n' Cheese in one go. We felt that their American option (as classic as you can get) was actually their best item in the end - with a few contenders for second place (including the 4 Cheese and the "Cheeseburger" options). Everything is quite customizable no matter what you order - you can add more cheese, more breadcrumbs, more sauce and so forth for literally anything on the menu. Their smallest size for any one flavor, besides the sampler, is plenty for a single person - but you can scale up if you want to share with other people. Their largest "Party" size costs $69, kinda curious just how much tonnage of Mac 'n' Cheese we're talking about there. Fun spot, would come back for sure.

So comforting, so good. Fair price for the portion size. You really can't go wrong with the flavors here. It could've been a tad bit spicier but that's just me.
Best spot for winter cravings and rainy day remedy! They have a substantial size menu- They have 3 sizes but honestly the smallest is alot(Nosh). The mac n cheese is super creamy and cheesy so even the small size is enough for 1 person serving. We got three flavors and shared. Best was their Chicken tikka! Loved mediterranean too-Alpine was just ok. Must try if you are a mac and cheese lover. Its not high end dinning place so yeah seating is pretty casual but they have alot of tables. Liked the casual vibe. Will defo return!

I was excited to try a spot dedicated to max and cheese! I opted for the sampler as that would allow me to try a variety of dishes they have. Surprisingly ate the whole thing by myself, which I probably shouldn't have, but it was too good not to! I particularly enjoyed the alpine and the Cajun. Ordering was easily done at a kiosk and we sat down with an order number and our dishes were brought to us. The place was clean and decently populated for an early dinner time. read more
Had this for two afternoons for lunch. Overall all of the flavors I tried NEEDED more salt/seasoning and to be cooked longer. Way too loose mushy. 4-Cheese Nosh: Basic mac, needed more pepper and salt. Napoletana Nosh: Ate this the most, the basil was tasty and the tomatoes were a bit too much. Way too wet. I liked it the most though out of all of them. Buffalo Chicken Nosh: I am not a blue cheese fan so I ate around that, but it sort of tasted like bottled buffalo dressing. My least fav. read more
The concept of this place is really cool although I can see it being a little over priced because at the end of the day it's still just mac & cheese, but I have to say i've tried three of the flavors and all of them are really unique and tasted really great. my favorite one was the masala mac & cheese because I liked the fusion of flavors. I could also see it being really great for colder nights when it's raining and you want something comforting. I've gone back twice and plan on continuing to go there. The only downside is if there's not a lot of seating so you might have to wait a few minutes before you get to sit down . read more
My friends and I popped in here as we have been dying to try this spot forever and finally made plans to try it. We opted for the sampler, which we noted in other reviews that said it was small. Honestly, it was plenty for 3 people to split. We had a fun time eating each section in sync and deciding which was the best. I do think a few of the flavors are too similar, but I don't think it's as some reviews mention that everything tastes the exact same. I didn't think the food really stood out to me as anything crazy special. It was more the novelty of the place that drew me in. I would opt out the breadcrumbs, we had a hard time splitting them up because of the topping. (My favorite flavors, if you were wondering, were the Cajun and the Napolenta) The dining- in experience leaves something to be desired. Think of very fast casual pizza dining. The type of place you probably have to clean the table yourself before you sit down. Their menu is a decent price point and I will add that while I am not vegan or GF, I saw they had both options for people with these dietary restrictions. This always makes me happier to dine at a place that is more inclusive. I don't think I will make a special trip to come back and try this place again but if I were, I'd try the buffalo chicken mac. Visited S'MAC for the first time this evening because my wife has been wanting to try their mac and cheese and because we had time to kill before our movie. She ordered the Alpine in the nosh size (smallest size). My wife rated the mac and cheese a 4/5 while I would've rated it a 3/5. She said it was delicious and the slab bacon was her favorite part. She would come back. Here is why I would rate it a 3/5 - I'm not a Mac and cheese guy. The only mac and cheese that has ever brought me joy were ones from Noodles and Company. I'm confident S'MAC has better mac and cheese but hey, I like what I like. Although the Alpine mac and cheese from S'MAC didn't bring me joy, it certainly brought joy to my wife who is a mac and cheese person. So if you're like her, check it out! If you're like me, ehh the decision is yours. 4/5 Yelp stars. My wife will return on her own LOL. read more

Good Mac and cheese. Major size is pretty filling but can have left over since it's so much cheese, I reccomend ordering nosh size then a large salad since it's so much cheese to eat without no side if you get major and mongo size. Buffalo chicken was my fav so far since it had meat in it. Without any meat it just feels like too much cheese and no side. read more
First time at S'Mac. Got the Buffalo chicken Mac and cheese because how can you go wrong with that. It was so good. Wasn't spicy at all. Had big enough chicken pieces in it and blue cheese cooked within it. Would definitely come back again when I'm in the neighborhood. read more
I can't wait to come back!!! Fortunately I visited around lunch time and it wasn't very crowded or crazy as the reviews suggest. I actually enjoyed the kiosk ordering, made it way easier but again with a bigger crowds and busier times I do think they should have more staff. Aside from all that, the food is sooooo delicious! It's just basic mac and cheese dressed up!! I had the Neapoletana (Pizza flavor) Mac n' Cheese which was heavenly! In retrospect I should've sat down there and eaten, it was a perfectly cold day outside and I was insanely hungry so somewhere between those conditions this meal was incredible. The small size is Nosh, then Major Munch, then Mongo, and largest is Partay. Ofcourse, there are many other vegetarian options to try so I will certainly visit again. I would also recommend coming w/ a crew so you can enjoy their sampler skillet with multiple types of mac' n Cheese read more
Came to S'MAC with a friend for lunch. It was super spacious with plenty of seating and with COVID, everything was contactless which was nice. There are so many varieties of Mac that it was hard to choose but I ordered the Mediterranean and my friend did a build your own. The food came out quickly and it was SO GOOD!! Super cheesy and all the toppings were delicious. My friend has severe allergies, so S'MAC was a great option for her as they have gluten-free options and allowed her to build her own mac! I also love the community fridge initiative they have. So delicious and allergen-friendly, would definitely go again. read more

I'm a big mac n' cheese lover! I saw their food advertised on a social media account so I had to add it to my list when I was visiting NYC. The portion size is really good and the flavor is great! Very creamy and great crust on top. Pretty good variety of mac dishes to choose from. I definitely recommend. read more
S'MAC has an absolutely myriad of Mac N Cheese possibilities, it's kind of bonkers. You order at a kiosk which is nice because again, the possibilities!!! I loved the variety in Mac n cheese flavor profiles and cultural fusions. I ended up getting the buffalo Mac n cheese to go. It was super delicious and had all of the things I'm looking for in a Mac n cheese - elbow macaroni (bc duh), a golden, crispy outer layer, and of course, extra cheesy factor. Def hit all the marks there. It may have been a bit too salty for me but that's also because it was buffalo flavored. Still very enjoyable. Docking a star because my friend got the vegan version of the regular Mac n cheese and it tasted sweet in a weird way, meaning that it was likely made with coconut milk (which makes sense because its cheaper than cashew milk for instance) and didn't quite have the Mac-n-cheese taste. They have some seating inside and outside but it's fairly small overall. I'd definitely come back and try more of their stuff! read more

i came to s'mac on a saturday around 12pm (i think they had just opened?) with a friend who has celiac's disease, so it was GREAT that there is a gluten-free option for the mac & cheese! they have you order from these self-service kiosks now, but they provide you with plastic gloves so you don't have to actually touch the screen, which was thoughtful. there is a dining area that's separated from the kisoks by those thick hanging plastic things. there's free water as well. we ordered (1) nosh size tikka masala mac (gluten-free and (2) nosh size mediterranean mac without the olives. it's nice that the kiosks make it so easy to customize the dish as much as you want, and they show you additional costs for anything as well. i thought the mac dishes were just okay, definitely novelty, and not something i would eat every day. however it was neat to try once! read more

amazing mac and cheese for a reasonable price! the only thing i disliked about my order was that the bacon was too thick and a bit burnt (too hard to bite) (also salty). i ate around it, but the rest was so good (my friend's was also so good) that i am keeping this at 4 stars. i will try something else next time to avoid the bacon but will definitely be back. it is all self serve but the place could definitely clean between customers better. worth it for the food! read more

I eat at smac probably 3 times a month, so I consider myself a bit of an expert. My current flavor ranking of the ones I've tried thus far: 1. Mediterranean 2. Cajun 3. Buffalo 4. Neapolitan 5. 4 cheese 6. Alpine (extra breadcrumbs) 7. all American Don't order extra breadcrumbs unless you like the taste of sand. While all of them could benefit from a little salt and pepper, the top 3 are really amazing, with tons of flavor in every bite. Alpine would have been better without the breadcrumbs. also, the major munch is an absolute ton of food for the price. Definitely worth it, most people will have leftovers. read more

This is my go-to restaurant when in the area. Because they specialize in Mac and cheese, it's always so satisfying. The Mac and cheese has the perfect stringy texture and creamy sauce. The breadcrumbs add a nice touch. There's lots of different size options so you can have a small meal or really do it up. My partner and I shared the nosh size and left full, but it might not be enough if on an empty stomach. The people are really nice as well. It's self-serve for the most part but when they bring you the food they're always friendly. The place itself is cool, has lots of seating, and is never too busy. There's outdoor and indoor seating. We love it and have been back many times. read more
This place was great! I am a Mac n cheese fan so it was a must for my NYC trip. We did do a takeout order after a long day out. We ordered three different dishes and sampled each one. Our favorite was the four cheese; fairly basic, but so good. We also liked the buffalo chicken. The Parisienne was definitely the most unique, but it was good too! The portions are generous. Three entrees was way more than enough for three people. Anyway, definitely check it out if you're a Mac n cheese fan or even if you're not! read more
Omg the mac & cheese is off the chain 4 stars but they have a serious in house order priority major issue going on here ...... We arrived at 8:05 pm 2/14/19 the place was moderately busy to getting ready to be slammed .... We were a party of four, we sat & my wife made the order took maybe 10 minutes or so using their self serve order system .... ( honestly we don't care for that we rather have a human take our order especially when it's your 1st time eating at the place honesty my wife had no one to ask any questions to ...... one guy taking the money & running the orders to the table.) The problem; you place your order and wait they give you a number to put on your table; What I witnessed was that for over 45 minutes none of the tables orders were coming out however their delivery guys were flying in & out constantly; they were taking care of their deliveries over taking care of the house the customers staring at you directly in your face..... I've never seen that before it's unheard of !!! So from ordering at 8:05 pm we finally got our plates @ 9:10 pm ..... I actually called from my table to ask him where's table # 23's order ??? He was like let me check ... came over to tell me another 15 minutes or so ... omg really ??? We heard the cook slamming pots & pans yelling asking for help so clearly they are under staffed !! Also a particular delivery guy..... a black gentleman wearing a red helmet & has mint electric bike stood out to me .... this guy thinks or maybe owns part of S'MAC because he cuts off all the other delivery guys and yells at the cook telling him where's my orders !!! And behold this guy gets his orders; we watched him come & go at least 5 times with a about 2 to 6 orders per run .... HONESTLY THIS DELIVERY GUY MUST BE HITTING OFF THE COOK WITH A LIL MONEY AT THE END OF THE NIGHT !!! You need to fix that because me & a few other tables both observed the same thing .... THIS KILLED OUR OVERALL EXPERIENCE WITH RESTAURANT........ it's a damm shame when the owners stop caring and keeping a thump on their business ..... I probably would not return & couldn't recommend this place to my friends & family and fellow yelpers .. Sorry S'MAC that you had to get smacked .......... I don't like giving negative reviews but this one you forced me ..... your Worker's seem to be from the walking dead & with no personalities what so ever !!! Also I was speaking to a customer who told me that he worked for you guys so he says & that this is the normal here & that the best times to come is like 11:am ish or after 2:pm ish .... I was like yea I will adjust my schedule for S'MAC !?&@!! We came all the from Brooklyn to try this joint ...... Big let down ..... We ordered two cheese burger Mac's & two Alpine Mac's both dishes were very good I will not discredit their food ..... the service is just awful..... I wish the owner was there to see what was taking place this particular time .... to hear the yelling from the kitchen & the pots getting slammed & the delivery guys bossing her help around where's my orders !!!! Mac n cheese wasn't bad but not at the top of my list of places to go to. I will say that they have a lot of varieties to try so maybe others are better. I absolutely love Mac n cheese and get it almost everywhere I go I'm a bit of a tough critic when it comes to my Mac. read more

Was craving mac and cheese and my boyfriend suggested we check this place out since they got good reviews for their vegan mac and cheese. So we stopped by and the reviews didn't disappoint, that mac and cheese was soooo good. Got the mongo to share with vegan cheese and shiitake mushroom. The dish was serve in cast iron skillet (which came in different sizes depending on how hungry you are). I really liked the crunchy breadcrumbs on top, next time I'll order extra. I've tried other vegan mac and cheese from different places and this place probably my new favorite place. It was cheesy, creamy, gooey, and oh so very delicious. read more

I love Mac' and Cheese, so naturally I would love S'Mac... Soooo many options, so how do you choose which 1 to try? For your first visit, you don't. You choose the sampler which ended up being a great decision. Some varieties I liked more than others, 1 I thought I would like but didn't, was surprised by 1, and another, I would not order again. My Least Favorite was the 1. Cheeseburger, a safe somewhat boring choice and 2. Parisienne, which I thought I would love butt the flavor a a little too earthy Somewhere In the middle fell 1.the Cajun, which all I could taste was sausage but lacked a little heat, and 2. Four Cheese, which was actually the perfect blend for a traditional a Mac n cheese but it just didn't shine compared to the others My top 3 faves were 1. the Alpine, which had a strong cheese(assuming Swiss) with a great meaty surprise, 2. La Mancha, well seasoned but hard to describe, and 3. Napoletana, American Mexican flavor inspired Next time I'll order one of my faves plus try 1 of the varieties that didn't come on the sampler. S'Mac has delish vegan and no vegan Mac N Cheeses! I like to creat my own: vegan Nosh with jalapeños and breadcrumbs. It's amazing, 10/10 recommend. Nosh is the perfect size for one person. Lots of outdoor seatings, and you can order through a tablet, very efficient! read more
I got a gift card here for my birthday, so many options including a build your own. Got the buffalo chicken one as well. Buffalo Chicken was by far my favorite and does great as leftovers. Bathroom inside is clean, you order on a tablet and find yourself a seat, good for a quick bite. Went with a few friends and had no problem finding a seat! Staff is friendly and quick. Also great drink selection if you like stewart's soda! read more

This is my go to Mac and Cheese spot for whenever I want it. They have a pretty decent selection of different types and there is a sampling plate you can order, but the Alpine is the one I recommend. This place is what I compare other Mac and Cheese places in the city to. The staff can be a little spotty at times like but it's mainly been a takeout place been covid anyway. read more

Okay!! This place has been on food list for so so so many years. Growing up and watching tv ads for this to finally trying it in 2020 was a dream come true. I kid you not, this was 100% worth the wait. If you're visiting New York, have heard of this place, you MUST visit. An Indian twist to mac and cheese is my heaven. Not only do they have amazing food, but have placed a fridge/shelf outdoors to allow people who cannot afford to take food to pick up as needed! read more
I came here the other day to get the Buffalo chicken mac -n- cheese and cheeseburger mac -n- cheese. I didn't have a long wait. Both were absolutely delicious but I liked the Buffalo mac-n- cheese a bit more. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are a mac -n- cheese lover. read more
I love Mac and cheese and came here before a few years ago but couldn't remember why I never went back. Spoiler alert: It's because the food isn't good. It definitely LOOKS good and SMELLS good, but it doesn't taste good. I got the sampler set they offer which I think is a great way to try all the flavors. I don't eat pork so they scraped off two of the flavors. All their Mac and cheese is frozen and not freshly made, so they couldn't make me a custom order. I think that kind of sucked because I still had to pay full price for it. The sampler wasn't worth it because all the Mac and cheese tasted the same. The PARISIENNE one stood out to me because of the sweetness from the figs. The NAPOLETANA was ok but it didn't taste tomato and basily. The 4 CHEESE might as well have been one cheese. I think the biggest issue with the Mac and cheese was the texture. It was all very soupy, more like a wet cheese sauce rather than a gooey Mac and cheese. This was very noticeable in the MASALA Mac and cheese. You can see from the picture that it didn't have much crispiness. It was filled with undercooked onions which I didn't understand. Also the only thing masala about it was that they used some spices unlike the other under seasoned options. It felt like the spices were added without any purpose because they didn't blend well together at all. We also got a small of the basic American Mac and cheese. This one was the best because the texture was better. Still there was nothing special about it. It's a Mac and cheese most restaurants would probably serve as a side dish to their main entree. I would recommend the Gully's Mac and cheese if you're looking for Indian inspired food. read more

S'MAC can definitely smack, but I felt there were a few spots where they lack as well. The ambience is pleasant to say the least: open space, lots of natural light, and an amazing music selection. I could never say no to some Michael Jackson. My party ordered the sampler and the Buffalo mac & cheese. The sampler was an interesting roller coaster to say the least. Lots of ups and downs, but I managed to find a few favorites. I'm a big fan of the Napoletena and I'd have to say this was my favorite out of the group. Imagine eating an authentic Italian slice of pizza equipped with the iconic sliced tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella but without being limited by the crust. I got to enjoy the Italian vision in all of its cheesy glory. My other favorites were the cheeseburger mac and four cheese mac. The beef was tender and flavorful and the blend of cheeses created a captivating taste, which especially works for people who like to keep their Mac and cheese simple. The rest of the portions were decent: they weren't bad by any means but they didn't necessarily grab my attention. I can say that the Alpine resembles a Haitian baked macaroni for those who are familiar with the taste, but even at that it was fairly neutral. The Parisienne honestly threw me off a bit: I'm usually a mushroom mafia ambassador, but these mushrooms had a strong oily undertone and a bit of an aftertaste that made it difficult to savor the rest of the macaroni. The Buffalo Mac and cheese was, by far, the best macaroni I tried. The cheese, as was the case with other mac dishes, was plentiful and sharp. They worked especially well with the generous cuts of chicken and the saltiness of the Buffalo sauce. This chicken was also very tender and you generally get a huge texture experience with this dish. If you're stuck for an option among the many choices here, the Buffalo mac will definitely not fail you. If you're a madman for mac and cheese, you might find a beloved meal here as long as you grab one of their stronger dishes. Personally, I'd play it safe with some more familiar looking ingredients before deciding to venture on to the more exotic options. read more

Hi Erum - right now our sampler is a mix of veg and meat, we don’t offer a vegetarian version. Sorry!
Is indoor dining available?
Hi Veronica - we aren’t doing indoor dining as of yet. We have outdoor dining available with most tables protected by vinyl but there are not any heaters. Thanks!
How much is the sampler?
Hi Daniel. The sampler is 17. All of the prices are on their website. http://www.eatsmac.com/menu/ I should note, you get very generous, filling portions.
Can I order to-go? Or is it sit down only?
It's both options. You can order to go AND you can sit there and eat. If you look at their website, you'll see the style of dining area they have.
