Just finished my service at Small Lily & all I can say is wow. From start to finish, the ladies were very professional, kind and welcoming. Taii is so skillful in her nail art and patient with designing my nails exactly like I wanted her to. She was also so sweet. They gave me candies and the entire experience was phenomenal. I came here the day of New Years Eve for a gel manicure with nail art. I had been going to a place in NYC for a while and wanted to try somewhere that was closer to my apartment and in Forest Hills. Small Lily is located in an office building on Queens Blvd next to CVS. Upon walking in, you instantly feel relaxed. They have slippers for their clients to wear since they prefer that you don't wear your shoes from outside. They also take your coat to hang up. The music that is played is calming music as well, which I really liked. It is by appointment only and they only have two chairs. The salon is Japanese owned and everyone who works there is very friendly. We had some great conversations about Forest Hills sushi places to go to and noodle houses. I came in with an idea that I wanted for my nail art and was really pleased with the way it came out. I wasn't sure if I should get tips on two of my nails since they had broken. I was told they could make the nails look good as is and that made me really happy that they were honest and not just looking for money. Also, after about a week, my nail chipped off and around the edges the gel was coming off of each nail. Sayuri was super sweet and helped to fix them. I will swift let be back. Loved the ambience, the workers, my nails, and the green tea!

Recently moved to the neighborhood and noticed a sign that said "Japanese Nail Art" and made a mental note to check it out! I easily made an appt via Yelp with Sayuri for the Weds before the Labor Day weekend and and was able to squeeze me in! Pleasantly surprised with how spacious and clean and cute the place is! Safety and cleanliness were key - no outside shoes and wash your hands fhitting minute you arrive. There's even a Hello Kitty wearing a mask :D Sayuri is always masked and behind an acrylic partition. Conversation was super easy and pleasant with Sayuri and her husband, Billy. She was meticulous with my design and literally read my mind a few times re: the nail art! I'm positive my nails will look good for a very long time given the attention to detail and TLC! Pricewise, pretty similar to any boutique Japanese nail salon in the city. Will definitely be back!

A hidden gem! I had a great experience getting my manicure and pedicure here. It was my first time going and I'm so glad I found it. Sayuri was so nice and professional. Her space was very clean, cozy and relaxing. I really appreciate that I could wash my hands before the service starts. Sayuri was wearing masks the whole time. Made me feel safe and comfortable. This is the only place I've actually enjoyed getting my nails done. Sayuri is so sweet and welcoming and she's a very talented artist. I've visited Paintbox twice in the city hoping for this kind of experience and I was disappointed both times. I brought a bunch of ideas from Pinterest and Sayuri helped me pick out colors to replicate my favorite one and then followed it meticulously. My gel manicure is still looking great after a week of swimming, snorkeling and countless sunscreen applications. I also love that you can make appointments online. It's really convenient and Sayuri was understanding when I had to change my appointment time. I look forward to going to see her again soon!

This will be my new salon in the area. The owner was so friendly and welcoming - she even serves tea during a pedicure! The attention to detail here was amazing. I've never had a manicurist who has taken her time with every single file stroke / paint brush applied. She also did a great job with my tiny nail beds! I can't wait to go back!

I still love it here. It's nice and quiet, and the product and service is always superior. The woman even remembered me even though it's been a long time since my first visit, which was amazing. I described what I wanted instead of bringing a picture, and the execution was flawless. If you call and don't get an answer, leave a message! Unlike other salons, the work doesn't get interrupted to answer the phone, which I really appreciated.

TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! Sayuri is only interested in MONEY, not customers. Don't give her any of your hard earned money because she doesn't value it. I've been coming to this salon for about six months. I'm a bit off the wall and eccentric, and I would always ask them if they could translate Gudetama videos, or help me with my Japanese studies. When I laughed with Sayuri and the staff, I thought they were laughing with me, NOT AT ME. A few nights ago, I came to get a gel pedicure done. I was assigned to Kaori san. I've always gotten along with everyone there. Kaori san did a great job on my nails and I was extremely happy. I always loved coming here, even though it is beyond my budget. I would come every week at times. It felt like I was chatting with girlfriends. I was happy with Sayuri and co and was happy to support the business because I always had a great time and my nails looked incredible. I was finishing paying (a $100 tab without tip) and I was talking with Kaori san (NOT Sayuri -- she was with a customer who apparently is "VIP." ) about how I had splurged a lot the past few days and was a bit hard up. I joked about paying Sayuri's rent (I have already gotten $20 off a few weeks ago for filling up my first "customer loyality stamp card" -- which is when one spends $800 there) but I meant it with no disrespect or as a means of complaning -- I truly LOVED going there and chatting with the staff -- just the day before, I had stopped by the salon just to buy some bath scrub. I texted Sayuri that night after the session -- as I always did -- to thank her and her staff for the amazing service. I also asked about possible gel nail extentions, and I get this text message from her the following morning: "Yes. Extension gel solid color is $95.00 I have to tell u I am appreciate u spend money at Small Lily. But u are telling us how much spend money here and expensive here too I am so tired to listening like that. never say u have to spend his is money here your choice.U told us front of other customer yesterday. What d u think other customer think?! Please think about. Thank u." WHO SAYS THAT TO A CUSTOMER?!?! First off, I've been spending my hard earned money in this business for months. Second of all, the other client was talking with Sayuri about her kids and morning sickness and work holiday party. The client had no interest in whatever I was saying. I also thought I was chatting with "friends," but apparently not. I would have been happy to apologize for being out of line, but that response was SO RUDE. It's pretty much a: "F--- you, Patricia -- you don't matter because I have so much business." I guess my money doesn't mean much when she has women dropping $200 a session (like the woman next to me who apparently she was terrified of me offending and having never come back -- for Sayuri, if a client has a Gucci handbag and designer boots and is talking loudly about her excesses, she's more important.) I had confided to Sayuri in the past that her services were a splurge for me as a teacher but she (I thought) was so kind and understanding -- which is why I kept coming and supporting her and the business. Bottom line -- Sayuri and her staff may do beautiful work, but she apparently only cares about you as a client if you are wealthy and dropping $100+ in her business and tipping her well to fund her rent and trips to her timeshare in the Poconos and that cheap Trader Joe's wine she offers clients -- or else she gives you to her assistants and sends rude text messages because her personal clients are more important -- because they have more money. She mentioned a few weeks ago (Trust me, I went often) that tips aren't allowed on credit cards anymore because she was losing "2% in fees!" Talk about being money hungry. This isn't how you run a business, Sayuri -- treating "lesser" clients like garbage because they don't fill your pockets enough or fit your elitist criteria. You just lost a loyal customer and apparently her "worthless money." You should be ashamed of yourself. Also, she hates animals. Enough said. Update (12/11/17): I texted her back (see picture) on 12/09/17 that I was upset and had updated my Yelp review. I thought, "Maybe she'll reach out and apologize." NOPE. She also wrote a passive aggresive reply to my review on her Instagram: @small_lily_ny -- perhaps write your venting in English? Bragging about your success? Something is seriously wrong with her. ... I have found my new nail salon at Bess Nails and Spa less than a mile away. For someone who has so many Chinese clients (including myself before that day and the woman she was afraid of me offending) one would think she wouldn't speak so poorly about Chinese owned salons or Chinese people in general. Charlene has my money now -- she does cal gel as well, and she actually cares about customers!

I love my eyelash extensions by Akina. Since I started coming to her, I have gotten so many compliments on my lashes. I feel pretty all the time now even without makeup. Akina has much experience and it shows. She is professional and makes the eyelash extension experience fun! My lashes last a long time but i still come to her every 2 weeks for a fill in. I also love Sayuri and her nail services. I am able to come to Small Lily to take care of my nails and now lashes too! It's a one stop shop and the girls here are absolutely lovely!

Small cozy place. Only 2 chairs and nails take a long time. They give u wine or tea with sweets but more like a spa level time frame kinda overrated I think. If u don't have any place to go, you are a homemaker yes than by all means. But for busy women who need a nice manicure that will last and fast this place is not it. My gel manicure didn't last long either it peeled off like plastic in 1 week. read more

First time coming to this nail salon. I had booked an appointment well in advance and have been excited all month to come! Sayuri greeted me at the door of the suite. Immediately I felt the environment was extremely relaxing and welcoming. We had discussed a few different designs over email and when I tell you she was able to exceed my expectations! I was given a menu of drinks, we had engaging conversation and the prices were not astronomical. I'm so happy I've found this place and can't wait till my next appointment! If I could give this place TEN stars, then I would. I have been twice now, both times for a mani/pedi. The first time, my manicure lasted nearly TWO weeks. I just returned for my second time, and Sayuri explained it is because she uses such quality polish and top coat. This is a true oasis, and luxurious experience. Your pedicure will take an hour. There is absolutely NO rushing this process. Both times, my feet have been very beat up from walking, and I leave with the most beautiful pedicure. You will never find someone as meticulous as Sayuri and her staff. I am just in awe of this salon. For the first time, I finally understand why women spend the money to get their nails done. I could never do my nails as flawlessly as Sayuri does them. I will never go anywhere else! read more

Super happy I found this place. I'd spent the day googling nail salons and after seeing Sayuri's designs on their website I had to try coming. I was lucky enough to be taken same day on relatively short notice. You are warmly greeted from the moment you walk in and they also take your coat for you. Upon sitting down you're offered a complementary beverage (one of my favorite parts, there's nothing better than relaxing with a glass of wine). Now as far as the services go, Sayuri definitely takes her time, which I can definitely appreciate as somebody who has small delicate nails, you should make sure you don't come here in a rush. The prices are higher than most nearby salons but completely worth it, you will be treated well by somebody who actually knows how to do nails & isn't afraid of new designs. So in the end I have found a great new nail salon and my nails can look as pretty as I will for Valentine's Day . read more

So happy to find Small Lily! Finally, a place in Forest Hills to get Japanese Nail Art. She does Bio Sculpture Gel & Cal Gel!! She does regular mani & pedi with great Zoya polish. Prices are on par with the Japanese Nail Salon I used to go to in Manhattan. Better that it is close to home! I was getting my gel done when Sabrina K. showed up today. Yes, other nail salons with numerous techs will take anyone. This is not a "mani mill" type of salon. This is a specialized salon that is clean, cozy and personal. If you are familiar with that kind of salon, you know that this is not a "walk in" nail salon. Call first! You will not regret it! read more

This nail spa is easy to get to by train and by car. I loved the space and the beautiful Gio Ponte Red egg chairs. My nail tech was very attention to detail and polite. She has many options to choose from and if you are a bit indecisive you can choose from a Japanese nail art magazine. She was diligent and patient in her work and now I have the cutest set of nails. I am very satisfied and I highly recommend her. read more

Very dissapointed with the services here. I traveled all the way from Long Island to only be turned away just because she had an appointment for the day? Other nail salons would gladly have the customer wait no matter how long the wait is with or without an appointment. This is ridiculous! I stumbled upon this little gem today as I got to the area an hour before an appointment I had. I didn't do the nail art, but I had an amazing gel manicure! The salon was clean, cozy and played great music. I was heading to a workout or I would have indulged in a free boozy drink. The manicurist was also the owner, and she was super skilled and speedy. Absolutely Love this place! I used to go to a different Japanese nail salon in Manhattan.Now i won't go back to them. I had Sayuri as my technician and she was amazing! She was really sweet and friendly. Sayuri let me choose a different color than the one displayed and the designs are pretty awesome!! I highly recommend coming to small lily for Japanese nail art. Call them to make an appointment. Note: It's been over couple weeks since I got my nails done,and they are still perfect! No chipping. Just as shiny as the first day i got them done. read more

I came here a couple of times since it opened in August. I was nail salon refugee by that time, but no more! The salon is well sanitized and comfortable. Sayuri is not only specialized in nail art, but she is also knowledgeable and caring. The things I love here is that nail arts Sayuri customizes and gel color variations. Biogel, Calgel and VETROgel last 3 weeks without chipping! Basically, I like simple nail designs but sometimes want a bit of spice on it for special occasions. You should try it out if you are looking for something new! read more

This place is great and very different from the other nail salons around town. It's so clean, and the owner is so friendly. She really took the time to make my nails look their absolute best. She uses high-end products, and is really knowledgeable when it comes to nail art. Plus I really like the way she shaped my nails, paid careful attention to my cuticles and applied the nail polish. It's a much more personal experience than going to a typical nail salon. Also, lots of points for the free wine! (They also have tea and other drinks if you're not an alcohol drinker). Can't really ask for much more. read more

Nail Art at its best. Even regular mani pedi are done with care. The price is a bit pricey but the quality of work matches the price. The polish used are organic and would be considered additional cost in regular nail salon. The place is super clean. A gem in Forest Hills! read more

I just tried this place for my first time! I made an appointment -- definitely a must -- and I am so happy I did! This place is super clean, calm, and professional. I got gel for my first time (I've done Shellac before) and I love it. She was so attentive and the polish was distributed perfectly evenly. I might try nail art next time! It's quite evident that with the prices she charges, you're not paying for any outstanding service but rather her rent and that "complimentary" drink she offers you. I went in there for a regular mani & pedi because I wanted to take a break from gel manicures thinking that if she claims she can do all that nail art 1 solid color would be a breeze. Just 1 solid color. No designs, nothing fancy. I paid $40 for a $25 service. The icing on the cake is that my nails still got busted...I redid them when I got home. She doesn't know the basics about cleaning nails, and she has poor time management. I made a 6:00 appt...wasn't my turn until close to 6:20. Oh and if you don't have an appt don't even bother coming here. During my mani & pedi, 3 (separate) girls buzzed from downstairs, she made them walk all the way up to tell them that she can't take them lol! Like really? Towards the end I saw why she was late with my appt...I know getting your nails done is supposed to be a relaxing experience...but 2+ hours just for a regular mani/pedi (again, just 1 color, no designs, excluding drying time). You've got to be kidding me. She tried to make up for it by putting way too much quick dry oil on my hands and feet...so much so that I almost slipped and fell to my death going down the stairs. Listen, I know she thinks she's offering something better than what's around this neighborhood, but she really isn't. She snobbishly says she's not like the salons where the Chinese ppl don't speak Engrish. And I kid you not, she said Engrish. Smh. She's gotta do better, I won't be returning anytime soon. read more

I've had my nails done twice now and can say I'm very happy to have found this nail salon! I just get a basic mani, but I may be more adventurous in the future after seeing the beautiful job Sayuri does on her own nails. I like that she also has a seasonal board with design ideas. The salon is clean and the owner is very professional. Definitely reccomend! read more

Small Lily is a hidden gem in forest hills. It's in a private office building away from the shops but conveniently located steps away from the subway. The salon is super clean and you are always greeted by a friendly face. They serve coffee, tea, wine and sweets. I usually get a gel manicure which always lasts 2-2.5 weeks. I've never had any issues with chipping. The designs are unique and there are so many colors, gems, glitters, foils and stones to choose from (and then some). I highly recommend this salon if you want a lasting gel manicure that won't damage your nails -- and of course fun designs. read more

This is the best Japanese Nail salon in town! And honestly, the only one in Forest Hills that's authentic. Sayuri is the owner and artist and she's amazing. Her attention to detail, explanation of designs and ideas, and Friendliness really make you feel welcome. The salon is super clean and bright! If you do cal-gel or are looking for a more dynamic mani/pedi experience, come here!! My new salon as long as I live in Forest Hills! :) read more

I started going to Small lilly for about five months. I never wanted to put wraps on my nails because I was always afraid of damaging my nail. So I finally decided to wrap them for the first time and my nails grew so fast and I love the design that she put on my nails and it lasted for two weeks. Her nail polish does not even chip like most nail salons that I've been to. When I finally removed the wrap my nails were so healthy. I recommend getting the wraps. Small lilly place is very clean ,she is very patient and friendly place. Love that she is opened on a Sunday and opened late on a weekday. My husband loves going to Small Lilly. read more

I love this salon! Both their polish and gel last for much longer than when it is done at other places. Sayuri only uses very high quality gel and Zoya polish. Very clean salon with no chemical smell. I am so glad that we finally have a great salon in Forest Hills! read more

We also offer an exclusive service where we provide custom designs for children and young girls.We offer one on one service to our clients in a private setting. Established in 2016.

We are a brand new salon. We started out doing freelance work where we visited our clients at their homes and places of business and we did custom designs for our customers. We did this for over 10 years. We decided to open a salon so that everyone can take advantage of the fantastic work that we do.

Meet the Business Owner: William C.

The owners of the business are Willam and Sayuri Carolina. We are married close to 14 years now we have one son. We wanted to bring our unique style of nail art to Queens, NY as well as a first class experience. We are excited to be in the Forest Hills area and we look forward to serving everyone in the community.

Hi. We do not do acrylic nails. We do use poly gels and Japanese gels. We also do gel nail extensions which are natural looking. We also do holograms and other designs as well.

You should have paid for the $90 UV gel instead of the $50 hard gel" and does NOT pay attention to detail NOR take feedback well Skill 2/5 You can tell they are trained in batches because they all utilize the same technique and it's only good if they are good and it's really bad if it's bad My First Lady: the 2 stars are for her My Second Lady: Paying attention to detail is SO not her skill NOR is taking feedback My Second Lady glued the end extension crooked and refused to take it out so just kept on filing until the nail was too short and not even with others. All other nails are concave. The extension is convex and titled out to an angle way too the left. The top coat from Second Lady: uneven with big dips and bumps and I will NOT wanna go back a 3x to let her fix it. With gel manicures, the top coat is everything and they ruined it I still tipped Second Lady 25% because if you speak up, they scream at you, give you attitude, and the door is locked unless they unlock it remotely Vibe 0/5 They are hot and cold re customer service wise and the second half of the store is under remodeling with some loud thumping. The first half can be more tidy albeit no remodeling. Back hand washing station is overcrowded. Walkway to the bathroom pass the hand washing station is dark Pricing 0/5 If I was paying for quality service and skill, this would have been slightly above average pricing in Flushing but because you get bad service and no attention to detail, it's a 0 Three days later after my first visit, 2 of my nails broke albeit I had hard gel. So the extra $10 for THEIR hard gel won't make a difference versus regular At first they said repair was free 2x but they were going to just paint of over the broken nails with no extension or filing meaning you were gonna have 4 long almond and 1 short square/jagged nail on each hand. And the nail tech proceeded to do that until I told her to please take the gel off my broken infield nail and put an extension on it so all nails are even length and shape and she said $10 for each, so the repair was $20 and not free. That's okay, but to think they really were gonna let you leave the studio like that SMH Also the supposed top coat they give you on all your nails after you repair 2-bumpy and uneven--huge dips and throws all the money you used previously on all other fingers out the window. Gel depends 90% on top coat This is above average pricing in flushing with really sh*tty service and below average skill. Check out Arete Beauty instead! Cheaper (cat eye is an extra $10 not $25) and better skill set and service but make an appointment

When I get my pedicures at the Rego Park location, my regular polish pedicures are done so well that they will last months... my gel pedicures last for a long time too. Overall, all the nail techs know what they're doing and they do it really well. Everyone is always so kind here and the vibes are always fun. If you go in the morning, it's more calm. For mamas like me, you're going to want that extra calm atmosphere in the morning so make sure you schedule your appointments then.
