My husband and I are vacationing in Bradenton Beach. One of our favorite things is going for ice cream! We saw all of the 5-star reviews and thought we would give it a try since it's less than 15 minutes from our rental. We were wowed! My husband tried the strawberry banana, dreamsicle, and mango tango (or something like that). I had c is for cookie, stellar coffee and bear claw. Let me tell you each flavor was totally awesome! My husband said his was the best he has ever had. I could see the pieces of real strawberries in his. The dreamsicle looked like you would imagine and the mango, while non-dairy was very creamy. There were big chunks of cookie dough and Oreo cookies in the c is for cookie. The coffee was very tasty. My favorite was the bear claw. It was ver rich dark chocolate ice cream with lots of cashew pieces. We loved the ice cream so much that we went back several more times during our 10-day vacation. Some people might say that the prices were a little high, I don't agree. You get what you pay for in this case. I am very willing to pay a little more for a quality product, especially when it is a small local merchant. This place is awesome and I highly recommend it! read more

After a lovely day spent at the beach at Anna Maria, all I could think about was having some scrumptious ice cream. A quick look on Yelp and Small Town Creamery's awesome reviews led me to this lovely gem. Small Town Creamery is a whimsical place! Colorful, fun, and full of sweets. So many options! I was expecting just an ice cream shop, but there is so much more than just that. I did end up going for ice cream, though. After sampling a few of their chocolatey-est ice cream flavors (there were so many flavors!), I went for a small cone with one scoop of two different chocolate flavors (can't remember the names but they were so rich and delicious!). One flavor had chocolate with swirls of peanut butter, the other had chocolate with cookie dough and marshmallow. So so so good. The employee who helped us was so friendly and helpful! We loved our experience at Small Town Creamery and when in the area, will definitely come back! read more

Not really sure if the other one went through but I am writing it again, this place has 5 stars for a reason. I ended up having the Calipso and it had enough pretzel pieces to know what you were actually eating. I've had ice cream in a couple other places around the island and this is definitely top 3, wonderful service and will be coming again next week :) read more

Woah, there's a lot going on here. Icecream, popscicles, fudge, cookies, candy, toys, oh my! I appreciated the wide array of unique flavors, and that you can sample as many as you want before committing. Then they of course have topping options as well. I ended up with a scoop of the Carrot Cake topped with marshmallow, and was not disappointed. A family member went with the banana split and it was huge. I took a Hard Apple Cider popscicle (Yes, they have boozy 21+ pops!) to go but was disappointed. Maybe it was my flavor choice. I didn't try any fudge but they had various types to choose from. We have been to Anna Maria IsLand many times and always go out for ice cream. We like trying new places and on our last trip we had not been here so we tried it out at the recommendation of Hurricane Hank's across the street. The staff is incredibly friendly and there is a huge selection of ice cream flavors. We couldn't decide between two flavors so we had them both. Let me just say the Banana Cream Pie ice cream is TO DIE FOR. So good, in fact, that hubby and I went back three days in a row! Our new favorite ice cream place. I consider myself an ice cream specialist. I have been coming here to Anna Maria and to Small Town Creamery for the last several years visiting as much as once a year. First I want to state that the QUALITY and selection of flavors and the creativity of the flavors in my opinion is top notch! Very good authentic real ice cream that you can taste the goodness in the ingredients. This is a well run small business and their authentic home town approach is really cool. What I struggle with is the price and the quantity of ice cream they give you for a price. I recently ordered a waffle cone which is a $2 up charge and a medium which is a considerable price over $5 so at nearly $7 I thought I would get this massive cone STUFFED with ice cream as you would get at most other places. NOPE...it was just two scoops and the first one was slightly bigger to fill the cone. The ice cream shops in northern Michigan where I am from supporting seasonal tourists too don't skimp!!! I would have preferred a more generous serving from Small Town it would be a small increase in cost for them and a large increase in satisfaction for me! read more

Came all the way from Jersey for the ice cream! I really didn't but I could have. I found the place by accident and it was one of the best things I tried on the island. They have variety of delicious flavors and even vegan options. The cookies and cream and the vegan peanut butter were really good and creamy. My friends loved the cherry one too. The staff it also very friendly and nice. I really liked the place and would recommend it to anyone. The only downside is that they don't have sitting inside, which would have been nice. read more

Best ice cream on AMI! There are several options for ice cream on the island, but we love Small Town Creamery. The people that own it and work there are really nice and always friendly. They have a ton of flavor options and they offer my favorite handmade waffle cones. I like a variety of their flavors. Some of my favorites have been caribou caramel, blueberry cheesecake, purple daze and raspberry truffle. They also have a soda machine, a variety of candies and a photo booth with a green screen. They have something for everybody. Enjoy! ******** My Standardized Yelp Ratings 5 stars - This is for a place that I see as one of the best at what they do (steaks, sandwiches, BBQ, seafood, etc). 5s are for places I've been several times (typically) at least and never had an "off" experience. The food quality, service, price and atmosphere are all going to meet or exceed expectations. 4 stars - This is for a place that is good, I would drive a little out of the way to go, and the food and service is good, but maybe not amazing. Also for me, this could also be a great place that serves Pepsi products - automatic 1 star loss - bad management decision. 3 stars - This is for a place that I view as standard. Nothing special, nothing lousy, not a place you'd avoid like the plague, but a place that is not one you really look forward to either. 2 stars - This is for a place that had something go wrong or something perpetually wrong. The food and or service is likely consistently suspect here (they probably serve Pepsi too). 1 star - I can't see wasting time writing a review on a place that gets a 1 star. It's a wonder how new ice cream shops can open on the island these days and have success, but apparently there was still a patch of uncharted ice cream territory. The Creamery showed up in 2017 and I've made sure to visit in every trip since. If you don't like ice cream (?), there are other things to enjoy, but I'm never going to pass up a homemade waffle cone. I think their flavors are also best in the area with Mackinac Fudge and Key Lime Pie standing out. They're open pretty late compared to others so this is a great after-dinner spot even if you eat after the normal hours. read more

Although the outside didn't look like much the inside was full of brightness and an excellent selection of ice cream. I ordered the Carmel Caribou and my husband ordered the black Cherry. When I tell you we left to explore the Island and before we went back to our beach house we went back to get a pint of each flavor. That's how great the flavors are.
