I picked up a Ribeye steak for an early New Years Eve dinner and couldn't have been more disappointed. I should have paid more attention for the 14.99 a lb. price. Walking into the store you always get the feeling of an outdated store. Has the smell/feel. Their fruit and vegetables are definitely grade B and very rarely fresh.....but what blew me away, went to the beer section and had view of the bottom of refrigerator and to my disgust- there was water with black mold- see picture. Good grocery deals, clean store, super great customer service here. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Also a fan of the rotisserie chicken, it's a last minute dinner lifesaver. On a side note, I gotta let this out of my system. S&F has been airing commercials featuring Roy Choi who is famous for the Kogi trucks featuring Korean cuisine fused with tacos, and lots of TV show cooking credits. Outstanding food and a talented guy! So in the commercials, he is featured buying supplies, and boxes and boxes of his Koji brand products... Bro, just go to your own warehouse, you own the company. The store inside is relatively clean and organized for the most part. Not a bad store to walk into based on looks. Extremely slow when it comes to pick up orders. I made 2 separate orders at different times on the same day. On the first order I called twice and ended up waiting 30 minutes before I was told that the order was cancelled because they didn't have the item, but I was getting texts telling me that the order was ready. It was a 2 item order. On the second order, I was notified that the order had been picked and was ready for pickup. I called after waiting 10 minutes and ended up waiting almost 25 minutes to get my order of 4 items.. Not great for convenience whatsoever. read more

I called in on the 5/9/25 and spoke to the manager on duty, and she asked me to come in with the receipt or wrapping so that I could be refunded. I went in today, 5/14/25 and spoke to Sabra and showed her the pictures, receipt, and call log that I had contacted the store. All the while she kept insisting 'we don't guarantee our flowers and don't give refunds or returns on them', like a stuck record, over and over again. This after explaining that the manager on duty on 5/14/25 had said I would be refunded. Sabra had zero customer service skills but kept harping in on not refunding the money. What she could have done is refunded the money and explained that the next time they couldn't stand by the quality of their flowers. I have always bought flowers from S&F, this was the second time this happened and this will be the last time I buy my flowers from them. S&F, train your associates to give better customer service, especially people like Sabra who are in direct contact with customers. read more

I visited Smart and Final in Diamond Bar yesterday. Everything looked very organized, including fresh produce. I was looking for Michelob Ultra, Crystal Geyser water, and some cans of soda. The only thing out of stock was the water 35pk. When I got to the front, Jessica asked if I found everything okay. I said I only couldn't find the Crystal Geyser 35pk. She said honestly it was probably sold out, I told her yeah I figured since it was a busy weekend. She scanned my app and realized the Michelob Ultra was not ringing up at the advertised price. She literally took matters into her own hands, went to check why it wasn't, wrote the correct code from the back stock and came back and told another staff member to please fetch the correct one. Apparently I grabbed the wrong size. I was surprised about this since the packs looked almost the same. I couldn't believe how above and beyond she went, I offered to put the other ones back and she told me not to worry, all I had to do was wait to the side and the gentleman would come back with the correct packs. She even checked on me and told me he was already coming back. I was so impressed. I thanked her for such great service. She is truly exemplary and deserves praise for this act and the MANY I'm sure go unnoticed. Great job Jessica! Or just go on a regular grocery shopping trip because they have many necessities any regular grocery store would carry. I usually buy their frozen hash browns for breakfast! You get a large sized pack for around like $6 which is always a good deal. Also great deal on large size condiments like ketchup! I would pass on the croissants cause they're too thick and chewy. As well as their bakery cakes, they were too dry! Sometimes they have good prices on soda and alcohol as well. You just gotta shop around and see what deals you find! read more

I visited this location for the first time on 1/2/25 around 4pm and what an amazing experience! If you haven't visited this store, it's a must! I even went as far as, complimenting the manager by the name of Matt, letting him know I live closer to the Chino Hills location, unfortunately, the Diamond Bar location was Top Notch! Shelves were ALL stocked and perfectly arranged. The store was immaculate. My daughter in law and I were so impressed, we didn't want to leave. Thank you for the great experience & keep up the Great Work and excellent upkeep to this location. The best happened to me was meeting Andrea from your Bakery department. she totally rescued me from a disaster. I had a cake done elsewhere for my Daughters baby shower totally a mess wrong color and it was whipped cream not buttercream like I asked for so Andrea took one of your party confetti cakes and turned it into a miracle cake for me in 1 hour a completely beautiful cake and still in time for the shower. It's great to have a large clean, stable store in the community and makes a well priced alternative to Sprouts (across the street) especially if you're buying things in quantity for a business. Whenever I ask someone stocking the isles for location of an item, they almost always walk me over to the item! Store is immaculate, and the staff is invariably friendly to me. Hey, where ever you go, there you are! Hah. Surprised to find a smallish but nice imported cheese and packaged deli section We LOVE your huge roasted chicken ! Get some reduced fat String Cheese, ok? Bad customer service. The cashier (Nicole) also the store manager told me & my friend we only can get 2 packs of ribs (limit 2 per household) if we are coming together even with different addresses and pay separately. That is their corporate policy. I just want to know what kind of policy is? Does that mean you can't shop with your friend to buy limit items in Smart & Final? The customer behind us asked Nicole why and how about if she bought the 2 packs from us. The answer is that she would need to get the one from the sheft instead. The customer was laughing and said she had never heard any like this, and she thought that was ridiculous. I ended up returning the items I just paid and brought ribs from Sam's Club. The price is a little bit higher, but we are all happy. Will call the corporate office to find out about the policy. if not, it is discrimination. read more

Not really much to say about this store in all honesty. They don't carry as much variety in produce as the neighborhood Walmart, and for some reason it's always freezing cold in there! but it's super convenient in location so it's usually a go to when I need to grab like 2 or 3 items. I don't think anyone actually does full on grocery shopping here because of how pricey that can be but it's great for getting that last minute bottle of wine to bring to a get together or a couple lemons you forgot you needed for that recipe you're making lol read more

This is a review for their delivery service . Routinely we purchase amenities for our business on our own time but I saw Smart &Final offers delivery. I placed an order online . Website was super to navigate and complete our order. It is very close to our office so it arrived within an hour. Its nice to have this as an option for when we might not have enough time to head to the store. It also works as a great alternative for someone who might not have car access or wants to wait In a lengthy checkout line. read more

Lately I been coming here a lot once or even twice a week now spending closed to hundreds each time. Cause my son is back home temporary but it's been about 4 months already. And more so due to coronavirus. I noticed the weekly sale items have been good compared to other markets. I don't have to go to Costco sometime, I have choices here buying bulk or small size choices. And Good prices on fruits, meats, chips and frozen food on sale. The first street brand has a good quality with good value. ( I liked the chocolate chip ice cream & toilet tissues). They now have wonton wrappers & tofu too. I know why they say people are creatures of habits. Because now I feel little comfortable coming here because I know where things are. I don't like going to new store where I have to go treasure hunts going back n forth, looking for items. With customer it's mostly nice but sometimes I get real friendly & kind person or not so sometimes. Maybe because they have hard time juggling being cashier & bagger at the same time. I really like this store, but I had an unfortunate experience recently with one of the cashiers at this site named Denise. This is what occurred: I stepped up to the empty cash register line and had to wait for a couple of minutes while she finished a conversation with another employee. I smiled and said hello when she arrived and got no reply. She then turned and continued talking with the other employee while ringing up my purchases. I said thank you for something and again got no reply. At the end, while getting my bags from her, I said, "Have a good night" and finally got a sullen "you too" in response. I left feeling completely rejected by an employee of the store, which doesn't make me want to return, and decided to wait a couple of days to write a review so that I could be more objective about it. I thought it best to include just the facts of what happened instead of my opinions, but I do hope the store manager talks about the problem with her since I can't imagine I'm the only customer to have had this experience. I'm sure Denise is a good worker, but she needs to understand that someone coming in after a long day on his/her feet (with a hard day of their own) needs to feel welcomed at the store instead of rebuffed. read more

The line is 7 customers deep and behind me another 6. 1 lane is open and all they are doing is calling associates to help over the microphone. After a long day at work the last thing I want to do is wait in a 30 min line. I understand budget cuts but this ridiculous. The manager Bonnie yells at her associates over the intercom for back up cashiers instead of apologizing to customers. By the time I got to check out my groceries, miraculously 3 lanes opened up.
