I went to smart set salon a year ago while living in La Jolla, based on the great reviews. As Sonya is very nice, I have resisted writing a bad review. However, if I had known what I know now, I would be precise in my directions, and not allow her to draw eyebrows for me based on some formula. The result was that she tattooed one of my eyebrows, above the natural one that had been previously tattooed, so now there are two lines. The only solution is to go and pay someone else to have the recent or old tattoo removed. So far, I have lived with it because of the expense and the fact that my glasses largely cover the area. read more

I was referred to Sonya by a close friend of mine when we had a conversation about brows. After stalking Sonya's IG page for a few months I finally decided that I needed microblading in my life. I couldn't be happier with the process and results!! The first appointment started off with Sonya getting to know me and my makeup habits related to my brows, and her giving me her professional opinion of how they should be shaped for my face. She took a good amount of time perfecting the shape by taking precise measurements and making sure that I was comfortable with her recommendation. She made sure to apply numbing cream on and around my brows to minimize the pain before the actual microblading procedure. During the procedure she diligently asked if I was comfortable and explained everything thoroughly. After the procedure she gave me wonderful after care instructions, including a little bag that had after care cream and grape seed oil. She even went as far as texting me pictures that showed the healing process day by day to make sure that I understood what I should expect. My second session was 6 weeks after the initial procedure where she gave me the same professionalism and care. I have been extremely happy with my results and can't believe I waited so long to do microblading! Sonya is great, so nice and fun, it made the procedure so easy to do. I wanted micro blading because I have eyebrows with gaps and I wanted my brows to look even and perfect. I wanted to just wake up and not worry about my eyebrows. Sonya knows what she is doing ! This was the worst experience I've ever had! I had great brows and trusted her since she charges $550. I wanted to outline my brows and make it easier but instead I feel ripped off and sad.
