Over the last 5 weeks our home warranty company has been working with smart choice to try and fix our microwave and oven. They had a technician come out four times. He told our warranty company that it was an electrical problem with the outlet and had nothing to do with the microwave. Next, our warranty company sent out an electrician to see what the problem was. The electrician told them there were no electrical problems so it had to be the microwave. What happens next? Our warranty company sends the same microwave repair man from before who tells them the same thing that it is an electrical problem. Well after 5 weeks of not having a microwave I bought the same exact model at Lowe's over the weekend. Guess what, it works fine in the outlet. So, unfortunately I had to spend 300$ because their technician did not know how to do their job. On to the oven. They tried to repair our top oven. They got a refurbished circuit board. Now our top oven works and the bottom oven does not. Our warranty company tried calling them back out to fix the bottom oven now since it does not work with their refurbished circuit board. Now they are refusing to come out lol. I am literally shocked. Do not waste your time with this company. Any option is a better one. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! read more

My dishwasher didn't work, I called First American Home Warranty, and the job was assigned to Alan from Smart Choice. Alan was experienced and responsible. The switch under the sink was old and it began leaking when Alan was working. This gave him extra work, and his socks got wet. But Alan did not complain a little. He helped me to clean the mess and put some temporary thing for the switch. He told me to find a plumber or handyman to put on a new switch, but this temporary thing can hold one day so I didn't need to be too worried. Thank you, Alan! read more

My furnace was due for a checkup so I called my home service provider Sears and they called this company smart choice appliance. The service person Justin was super awesome. He probably saved my furnace from dying this winter. He didn't just wipe off some dust. Of course there was a service fee for maintenance that Sears doesn't pay for but so well worth it. I'm going to feel very comfortable that my furnace will run through the winter with no problems. Justin was very personable and very willing to answer all my questions. I was very happy with his work and cleaning up after everything he took apart and put back together again. I will be calling this company back to do my spring service on my HVAC. Try them you'll like them. I think they're honest people and a newer local company. Got a response quickly and was able to schedule an appointment. The technician, Tomas, arrived today and was able to fix the issue. Tomas was thorough and very detailed. He answered any questions I had and he explained everything with detail on what the possible issues could have been. this company was sent by my home warranty insurance. they scheduled two appointments and never showed or called to say they weren't coming. the third appointment the gentleman came and was at my home for less than 10minutes and sent a report to my insurance company that my AC unit and vents were fine and my complaint was my home was not cool ENOUGH. how do you make the determination when my vents were underneath my home and he never even opened the crawl space door. and said if I wanted it cooler to add more vents. at the time of there visit it was 89 degrees outside and the temperature in my home on the thermostat reads 92 degrees this is with the AC unit running 24/7. read more

Do not use this company under any circumstances. They were contacted to fixed my washer they came out four times and were not able to fix it. There first visit was 08/10/22 and the last visit was 09/03/22. Four trips 3 new parts and they could not fix it. Contacted a different company he was here 20 minutes and fixed it. SmartChoice Appliance was sent over to my property by the Home Warranty company two times to detect a gas leak on my oven range. Both times they performed a bubble test (with my own soap) but could not find the leak. I had the gas company come out and they were able to find it with the proper gas detection device. Even though you can smell gas coming from the unit, SmartChoice could not pinpoint the leak with their methods. During the second visit, the technician attempted to gaslight me as he and his associate kept denying that they smelt any gas coming from the unit where you can clearly smell it. I would be wary in using SmartChoice Appliances; I hired another company who performed a proper detection test and repaired the unit to a safe state for usage. read more

Both of those things were true (and then some! ) 1) they are quick to respond and set up a time for repair 2) their fees were lower to come out and assess the problem than other vendors I compared them to 3) they are efficient!. They came out, assessed my stove (wasn't heating up anymore) and fixed the problem all in under an hour. PLUS they were on time which is unheard of. 4) they helped me avoid getting a new stove for $1k and instead fixed my issue for under $250! I would honestly give this business negative stars if it were possible. This place is an affiliate repair provider for Sears/ Cinch Home Services they are a predatory and abusive business. They pray on home owners that are already paying a monthly fee of $70 plus for a Home warranty, then they charge you another $100.00 to come out to your home and deny your claim. They will do and say anything to deny your repair claims. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau and I will seeking legal action against them. read more
