This company was assigned to us through our home warranty. A part was needed to fix our AC unit, they ordered it and then after 6 days without air, they would not install it to get our air working, without us agreeing to additional work and cost not covered by home warranty, that isn't really needed in order for it to work. We have animals and its 80+ degree weather, but they would not just come do whatever needed to get us cool air flowing in our home, when we are ok with temporary fix for some relief, and then could deal with the other items that might be good to do. read more

When the stove broke down, Victor helped us -- he was quick and efficient!!! And then he took the time to explain what was going on.... When the laundry machine had an issu, Alan was very helpful and respectful!! When I call and the person on the phone answers, you can tell he is there to help and get things done!! When the assigned repairman heads your way, you get a notification and a tracker so you know exactly when he'll be there (no more waiting aimlessly between 9 and 12 and at 11:45 they show up and your day is gone in waiting!!!) Seriously these guys are doing it right! Over the years, the warranty company has assigned me to a few different companies, and SmarrChoice stands out by far!!! My Samsung washer would leak water each time we ran a load of laundry, large or small. Two technicians came out and gave me bogus reasons for the water leaking, (1) the door to the washer was not closed all the way, (2) there was buildup in the boot. Since we wipe the boot down after every load, this was not the reason. I had a plumber out to check the line twice and we determined it was not a plumbing issue. It was not until Viktor, the technician came out did we have a good result. I highly recommend Viktor to properly diagnosis a washing machine problem. It was such a relief to know that it was a hose that was leaking and the problem could be fixed easily. Viktor was courteous, understood my problem and, he fixed it promptly! read more

I am very disappointed with this company. They came on a referral from American Home Shield. I explained the first contractor sent by AHS had diagnosed a leak behind the refrigerator and ordered the part but refused to be responsible for pulling the built-in unit away from the wall. AHS then dispatched Smartchoice. A friendly tech named Bogdan came out and said he could see water stains behind the refrigerator while looking underneath but could not pull the unit away from the wall to check. He said he could see no current leaks and I explained that's because the first contractor turned the water off. I said he could turn the water back on to see the leak. He said he would not do that. He said the only way he can confirm the leak is to get behind the unit. He will write his report to AHS stating that. He promised I would get a copy of the report within a day. 9 days later I still received nothing from Smartchoice and nothing from AHS. I called AHS and they claimed Smartchoice's report stated there was no technical defect, which is a complete lie. The first contractor found the defect and ordered a replacement part but would not install it. Smartchoice did not see a leak because the water line had been turned off and it refused to turn it back on. I tried to call Smartchoice to give them a chance to respond but I could only leave a voicemail. read more

This was a two visit service call. The technician got our dishwasher working with a temporary fix and said he ordered parts for a permanent repair. When Arsen returned after we had received parts for our 10 year old dishwasher he completed the repair quickly and offered several valuable tips to keep the dishwasher functioning. Arsen went above and beyond by removing and cleaning the food drain hose into the garbage disposal.
