Representing 2025, H is for Habit Burger: I've been to the Bowie location a few times in past 3 years. They didn't have the best first impression. They had a free burger event in July 2023 for free charburger, but when I got there a sign saying due to unforseen circumstances they had to cancel. It would've been helpful to have known before driving all the way over there. I emailed the company, and they sent me a free meal to use within the next year. Habit Burger is good if you have an issue, which is rare, they will take care of it. My girlfriend & I went to this location twice, August 2024 & June 2025. In August 2024, we had a long Bowie walk with a Meetup group and were hungry for dinner after. So, we went to nearby Habit Burger. Like In-N-Out Burger, which is only in the West, Habit Burger also started in California. In-N-Out started in Baldwin Park near LA in the late 1940's, and Habit Burger started in Santa Barbara in 1969. I love In-N-Out, but I think Habit is even superior to In-N-Out. They know how to make the charbroiled burgers so well. Fries are delicious too, and they have specialty strawberry lemonade, which is sweet & tasty. We went again to Habit Bowie on Friday, June 27, 2025 since we had to pick up my g/f car from repair in east Annapolis car dealer service. That June 2025 was kind of rough. We had a great trip at the beginning of June to Toronto & Niagara Falls. But starting June 16, I had 3 rounds of chemo, which thankfully was a success, except for the leftover teratoma (at least not viable cancer) which led to major surgery in February. On Friday, 6/20, after first round of chemo, we had a minor trip to eastern shore MD with a small group of friends. My girlfriend drove us since I was leaving from chemo. Although I wasn't feeling great for the trip, that wasn't why that trip wasn't fun. The worst part was our friend brought a total whack job with him who created unnecessary drama (he acknowledged it was a terrible mistake). Now he has a girlfriend, who is nice, so his +1 will definitely be better. The 2nd worst aspect was that Friday, my g/f car broke down in Easton. We had to wait for tow to drive car from Easton to Annapolis dealer (since my g/f car has no dealers on eastern shore, and mechanics in Easton didn't have the right part). And then get a ride from someone coming from more than 30 minutes away already there. Annual trip in June 2026 has got to be better as the June 2025 was 1 in 1000 year confluence of bad events that weekend. The following Friday, June 27, 2025, Habit was running a deal for free double charburger with purchase. One of us purchased the fries (to split) & other purchase the drink, so we both got the free double burger. We enjoyed that for lunch on the way to Annapolis. This was a big meal especially considering I was on chemo, but it was delicious, and I managed alright that day. Once again like in August 2024, I commented to my g/f how this is the best at least casual dining burger out there. read more

"Do Make This A Habit !!" Very impressed when I stumbled across this burger delight. The food was fresh and the service was friendly & polite ( which always makes a difference to me !! ) I ordered the veggie burger with fries... and it definitely hit bullseye when it came to curing my hunger ( fries are delicious ) and there juice mix was the perfect complement to wash my meal down ( I even hit the juice machine twice to partake in this special blend of juices ) So, no doubt I'm going to make it a "Habit" to stop through on my lunch breaks for a cool meal... I went to Habit and I requested my burger a special way and as soon as I was about to bite into it, I realized that it was wrong. Went back to the driveway drive-through after waiting for about 10 minutes in the drive-through prior and the 2nd just for them to make my burger wrong again. When I requested a refund or some type of accommodation, I was told that the owner said I get either the refund or just wait for a new burger. No, I'm good. Give me my money back and for the owner you need to change the straws, cause these straws are too big for anyone to drink out of. Ridiculous!! read more

My total was $15.57 ( I honestly could have went to five guys) but I needed something quick and drive thru Despite the other negative reviews and what I was hearing I just said let me give them a try. First red flag was my DrPepper was flat and tasted like watery soda ...they were completely empty and not busy and my fries were not even fresh. But the burger took the cake for me. As far as burger joints go, this one isn't bad. I think BurgerFI and Five Guys are better options, but if you're hankering for a burger and you're in the area, its better than the other established fast food restaurants like McD's or BK. Its better than Elevation Burger and Red Robin as well. The restaurant is nice and clean and because its still relatively new, all the colors and brightwork still pop. Price-wise its a bit expensive, but again, it beats the other fast food joints so take that into consideration. Given some of the other complaints, I think this place will get better with time. It is definitely worth a first visit if you've never been. read more

Wanted to try this spot out since I saw it being built. Finally had the opportunity to try it today. Has done in, drive thru and curbside options. I chose the drive thru. Someone was outside entering orders, rather than taking orders thru the speaker. The woman was kind and took my order as I'd like. My only issue is I ordered a half and half and she was unable to input that, she stated I had to ask for that at the window. Once I got to the window there was a bit of a discrepancy with what I ordered with the woman outside and what I had at the window, got that corrected. I had to tell them my drink order which slowed things down a bit and went about my way. Got home and whhaaaaattt!?!? They messed up my burger, despite it being inputted the correct way on the receipt. Normally I would push thru, but the price of these burgers caused me pause so back I went to get my correct burger. Once it was fixed, Yummo! The burger tasted delightful, I could taste the char, and you could tell that it was freshly made. The fries were a little over salted for my liking, the him enjoyed the burger (he got the double char with cheese) but said it was a little too salty for his taste. The habit is good in my opinion, if I return, I would definitely try the sweet potato fries and check my burger before I go home. Looks like there are some kinks to work out. We were looking for something quick, and this was it. The staff was nice and place was clean. One person got a burger with lettuce instead of the buns. She was satisfied with the choice. One person got the burger and was disappointed with the patty to toppings ratio. There was way too much lettuce compared to the patty. Two people got the spicy chicken sandwiches. There were many things not in control of the company that delayed the opening. Kudos to the leadership team and everyone who is learning the ropes! Soft opening was limited hours 7/31 and 8/1. They are OFFICIALLY OPEN 8/2/2023!!! My first exposure to Habit Burger was in Santa Barbara. The Vista Gardens location delivered a signature meal that did not disappoint today! We look forward to a larger menu sampling in the near future and I'll update my review then! I was so very excited to try a new burger spot in our area. However, I was extremely disappointed the burger was not at all what I expected. Although I could taste the char, it was an extremely thin patty for the price and way too much salt. I got the combo with fries which again they must have poured the entire container of salt on. The two stars that I will give them are for great customer service with a smile and their strawberry limeade. But the food which should be the star leaves a lot to be desired. Ventured here today since I saw they offered both and "impossible" and veggie burger options. The gentleman who took my order in the drive thru was polite and welcoming. The drive thru moved pretty quick for "made to go" service. I was disappointed when I bit into my burger to find that it was pink!! kind of freaked me out seeing this. Okay so this isn't a top tier $15 dollar burger joint BUT their burgers are fresh, real ground beef (not fillers), and a single burger with cheese & all the trimmings for $6 makes a great meal! Heck, a double is like $8 bucks and is much too large for me. The fries are okay but the tempura green beans are amazing with the spicy dipping sauce which is flavor but NOT spicy. They also have a good drink selection and salads which I've never had bc they all have chicken on them and I'm not big on chicken; but folks seem to love them. The Habit Burger Grill has a great selection of delicious burger options. I ordered the #1 Original Char Burger meal with American cheese and sweet potato fries. The burger comes with sautéed onions, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. I really like that there was a full menu to peruse before getting to the order menu. They offer lots of great sides options. The tempura string beans are really popular. The service was efficient and my drive-thru experience was pleasant. I'm definitely going back to try some of the other unique burger options. read more

Pros- nice size burger, the menu has many options, food was tasty, doesn't taste frozen, fresh food, friendly staff, outdoor seating Cons- prices too high, food was salty, the food presentation(burger) messy,the drive through was at least 25 minute wait. I've been looking forward to trying this spot since it opened and got the chance to do so tonight. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of my meal overall. I ordered the double charburger meal with everything on it and 5-piece chicken bites. The fries were really good but a little salty. The burger was flavored well but it was a little more charred than I had anticipated. The chicken bites were good and tasted fresh, not frozen. The only downside was the pricing. I thought it was a little pricey for one meal but since I really had no complaints about the food it was worth it. Will I go back? Maybe but I'd probably consider Five Guys first before going back. Your typically rushed through fast food drive thru's, however they nicely took the time out to explain a few menu items. So glad this place is finally opened; we moved from the west coast and haven't had Habit in over a year. We've been waiting anxiously and as soon as I heard it was open we were on it like zombies on a slow jogger. It's a bit pricey for a burger place but it's fresh and delicious. Never tried this place and happened to be near one. It's a different fast food place starting from the outside. Plenty of parking and also a place to sit outside that was very nice and well maintained. When you enter, you place you order yourself however I do believe they will take your order if you prefer. The burgers are juice and flame grilled. You pick up your order and there are more condiments that any other fast food restaurant. You can order your fries too order (less salt, regular salt, or extra salt) Also, you can order them extra crispy. I would highly recommend that. They were good. Move over Mickey D's. Very clean restaurant. Bathrooms were nice and clean. The food overall was amazing. read more

This place opened a few months ago near my work. When it first opened lines wrapped around the building. Well no more, access is quick and easy. I downloaded the app and was rewarded with a free char burger! Used the app to order and I was about 15 mins away. 10 mins later I got the text and my order was ready. Food was very good and was happy with the order. I had ordered the adult kids meal for $6 and my coworker order the #1 combo. I really enjoy this brand! I have tried the Chicken Club... It was delicious! The Charburger with cheese.. It was delicious! Fries..... salty! Reduce the salt and you have a winner! The Avocado on. the other 4 salads were brown! The Avocado was fresh with no old brown avocado when this restuarant first opened! After that.... The quality of the food was not the same. To be fair... I get it.. avocado turns brown when air gets to it. The management has to find a way to keep it fresh or make it to order. I showed the brown avocado to the manager. His response was "that's the way it is. We make it fresh twice a day." He offered to give me some in a container. It was also brown. I did not accept it. I thanked him for his time and left. I went to this The Habit Grill on Thursday, 5/16, at about 6pm The burger was terrible and the fries were cold. I had gone through the drive through. I went inside to at least get some hot fries. The guy cashier looked at me like how dare you bring these fries back They cooked me some hot fries but I noticed that they put a single napkin over the fries before putting them in a bag. This is unsanitary. I should report this to the county health dept. These people at the drive thru and at the cash register are handling credit cards and money but don't use gloves to handle food. Really? They need to take a lesson from McDonald's. One window to pay and a different one to get your food and someone that has gloves on The burger had burnt charred onions which gave it a bitter taste. Will never eat here again. read more

The fries here are delicious! The burgers are good but very thin. I have to get the double charburger to actually get some beef. The side caesar salad is amazing! I love the caesar dressing they use. Service is a hit or miss. One time they gave my friend's order away to someone else and she had to wait longer for her food. I am huge fan of The Habit, been eating there food for years in CA. On some occasions, we would drive to MoCo for a good burger from The Habit. What I love, is the variety. First time trying Habit Burger as i just moved to DMV area. This location is apparently brand new, Fresh landscaping and new parking lot. Ordered the char burger no cheese, forgot to remove the mayo but it was well done like I requested. They missed my ketchup tho. Not good at all! I can't taste the char on it, taste like a regular soggy burger with ok grade ground beef. The french fries were over cooked and tasteless. The drinks are in very small cups and flat. The shake we had tasted a little like the milk was spoiled. I paid $38 plus and a tip ( I always tip but a little strange to ask that in a drive through ) for 3 burgers 2 fries, a soft drink, and shake. Plus I asked for no onions and my burger was smothered with onions. I honestly didn't mind spending top dollar on a burger but for a top dollar experience. I just wish they would just put a shake shack out here in Bowie and be done with it.... Or something along those lines. One pro service was excellent! read more
