We entered smashburger at 7:50pm & by the time I ordered a milk for Liv it was 7:59pm. I gave Liv her milk and informed her that we probably couldn't make it to Chiplote Grill due to the time that the mall closes (which is at 8pm). We then decided to order dinner from @Smashburger. I came back on the line and I now am the last customer with a person in front of me. The supposed story manager Brittany starts cleaning up and I tell her I am ready to order. She responds that she is "closed." I tell her but I am in your store and that she recently took my daughter's milk order. She states she's sorry, but that it is ten mins after 8 and that she "needs to let her team go home." I said Miss I don't want to order for myself just at min order fries for my daughter and she states that "it is not my responsibility to feed your child." I then ask for the corporate number and she comes out with a damn survey website. I said "you are not talking to a fool and that I am not leaving until I get the corporate number so call your manager to get it." I always stick to the Classic Burger (comes with American cheese, Smash Sauce, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, onion & pickles on an egg bun) and a side of Smash fries (thinly sliced fried with rosemary, garlic & olive oil). Yeah this Smashburger's rating is about right, at a three. Amazing burgers, sometimes too salty-- I mentioned it to the cashier today though and I do think that there was not extra salt put on my burger. So that was good. I love the truffle mushroom swiss and get it almost every time. If you want to save a couple bucks, just get the regular burger and not one of their special burgers. A couple of drawbacks is that it's more expensive than the Smashburger in other locations, such as North Brunswick. Tonight it was slow, but I don't usually have that experience. Tempted to give them a four for listening to me about the salt tonight. That's the kid with the man bun. Earlier this week I witnessed a customer return an incorrect sandwich after leaving the store with it. The kitchen employee then realizes his mistake & tells the counter employee to hand this same sandwich to a little boy who I noticed had been waiting a very long time. I was very uncomfortable with how this little boys money had been taken, he was made to wait over 15 mins, and was given a burger that had left the store. The employee that handed him the burger had no idea whether it was bitten or what could have happened to it. I addressed both employees that took part in this very distasteful event (the kitchen and counter rep) only to be dismissed as if this was acceptable practice. I then told the little guy to give the USED sandwich back and take me to his mom so that I could let her know how her child was treated. The burgers themselves are tasty, but I honestly think Five Guys' burgers a little bit more flavorful. The fries are cut really freakishly thin, and they're honestly not that good to me, but still better than Five Guys' fries. Also, I think I had some wild expectation for their smash sauce, but it just tastes like pickles, mustard and mayo. During my most recent experience last week, the host (name is Brittany according to the receipt) took my to-go order and I walked over to my mom, who was seated, just to confirm that she didn't want cheese on her burger. The host then yelled in an accusatory tone from the register, "Excuse me, is there something wrong???" I turned and looked around to see who she was talking to and she was looking right at me. Wtf! I must have looked confused enough for her to realize she was yelling at me for no reason. If I didn't pay already, I would have walked out. I've had Smashburger before in the Piscataway location. The burgers were good there. Here, they are sad. i got the smashburger with the works, regular size like i always get. The burger patty that came was laughably small. 3/4 the size of the bun. The french style matchstick fries were always done perfectly crispy at the Piscataway location too. The ones i got to tonight were shrivelled and greasy. What a waste of money!!!!!!!!! What I did try and liked was the veggie frites, which are flash fried string beans and carrot sticks. First off I'm fully aware that pickles are salty but the fried pickles were not only not crispy instead they were soggy. Today, I decided to have lunch at Smashburgers in the Menlo Mall. This was my first time visiting any Smashburgers. I got over there just before 12:45. There were two people on line in front of me. As I started to give my order to the girl a woman came up and barged her way to speak with the girl telling her there was an insect or some other foreign object imbedded in her hamburger roll. The girl took her tray and proceeded to rectify her order. I had some immediate concerns but I clearly had a good view of the roll and I didn't notice anything unusual. Some people are excessively concerned with perceived issues with their food. I decided to continue with my order when the girl returned , which was a few minutes. The line was now getting kind of long behind me. I ordered my burger and fries at 12:52 and decided to eat in the restaurant. They gave me a order card, number 33, and told me they would bring my meal to my table. I grabbed a drink and sat at my table to await my meal. I soon began to realize there were some issues in the restaurant. There was a table in the back that was piled at least two feet high with trays of previous customers garbage. Pretty disgusting. The line grew longer and became somewhat boisterous over the wait. Some left for other restaurants in the food court. It was taking quite long for my order to come. I had enough after 25 minutes and seeing people who were on line behind me and eating in the restaurant get their food before me and other customers on line behind me who took their orders to go. I went up to the counter to demand my money back. There were numerous to go orders and other orders to stay under the heat lamps but not mine. When I asked the girl for my money back she said she could not do it, only the manager could. The manager (actually ass't mgr) was processing orders. Then my order came up and I reiterated I did not want it any more and I wanted my money back. After a few more minutes of waiting I asked the girl how long I had to wait to get my money back she replied, "I have no idea." I got kind of loud and told her to get the manager out NOW! The assistant manager finally came out and offered an extremely timid apology and mentioned they were short staffed. To me she clearly did not have the required managerial skills to handle the situation in the restaurant. There was no advance notice that the restaurant was experiencing difficulties and the wait time was beyond normal. Rather than caring for their customer base they were clearly trying to ring up sales regardless of the inconvenience caused to their clients. They lost me as a potential client and I hope others be more vigilant to the service activities of this restaurant. Zero stars for me!!! read more

I think this place is absolutely disgusting. It's not clean and, while they will "brick" the stovetop grill if you're a vegetarian, they don't really clean it off so your food will taste like beef.
