We are in the middle of a move and don't have internet set up at our house yet. My fiancé and I moved close by and came in to get some dinner and get some work done using wifi. First off, we walked in and were not greeted, and stood at the counter for about 5 minutes before the girl stocking beer finally acknowledged us. Second, they had no wifi but told us we could sit in the back and steal the neighbor restaurants wifi. We came in at 8pm and they don't close until 10pm. They already had half of the seating including the bathrooms blocked off and continued to literally clean around us. They never once asked us how everything was, if they could take our plates, nothing. We felt very unwelcome and as both my fiancé and I are local business owners, we think the customer service was lacking to say the least. This was my first experience at a Smashburger, and I was not disappointed! I'm not sure if it was because I was really hungry or if the burgers were that incredible, but it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. I had d signature burger, and the fries. The fries are close to a skinny fry and delicious. Since I arrived around 5 o'clock, there was definitely a rush of people. Absolutely one of the worst experiences we've ever had eating at a Burger joint. Not one of our burgers came out as we had ordered. One order was no bun, ketchup, extra onion, lettuce, tomato and cheese and came out with a bun, a burger and some mushrooms. Who's making these burgers anyway? Can't they read? Of the four we ordered, not one was right. In fact all were way, way off. And it cost us $40. I want my money back! read more

I've only went to Smashburger once. The food was way overpriced for no more than you get. I had a cheeseburger and fries, while my wife had a cheeseburger and Haystack Onions. The cheeseburger had a decent flavor to it, nothing spectacular though. The fries were kind of flat, however my wife's Haystack Onions were really good. My biggest complaint about Smashburger is their price. A burger, fries and a drink will run you at least $10. My wife has been back there a couple times, but I won't be. For that kind of money, the food needs to be spectacular, and it clearly wasn't. read more

Ok, I asked the standard questions, anything added to the beef Like bread crumbs, i need to avoid wheat. Or eggs, I avoid eggs. Or milk, I avoid dairy. Answer no, just beef. Cool, I'll have a burger without the bun. What kind of oil do you fry your potatoes in? I avoid soy. The young man taking my order shows me the label on the box of oil. Cool, no soy. I'll have an order of sweet potato fries. Get to my table and notice a sign that says the burgers are fried in butter, oops, there goes the no dairy thing. Then I notice that the fries have a crispy coating. I stop one on employees walking by and ask if the fries are dipped in any coating before frying. She says no sir. So now I have a burger I can not eat and suspect fries, so I ask if there have an ingredients list for their food. She politely says she will check. She returns in 2 minutes and says they do not have the ingredient list, but they do have a allergy list. It shows that if you are allergic to wheat or dairy, do not eat the fries, the coating contains both. If you are allergic to daily, do not eat the burgers. Moral of this story, you can ask all the right questions, but you better be asking them of someone who can think. read more

Love the place, eat there once a week. Just be warned it's hard to get a table during busy lunch/dinner times on a weekend. Staff is polite and helpful. You order at the register and your food is brought to you usually in about 5 minutes. Lots of napkins and extra condiments on the table. Staff usually offers to clear your "baskets" when you are done eating. The way to go is to build your own burger. Lots of stuff to choose from, and I love a place where bleu cheese or a fried egg is an option. You can even pick from different buns. The burgers are thick and tasty, but can be a bit greasy and hard to eat (a half pound burger is smashed down so it is too big for the bun). Fresh ingredients and I am never disappointed on flavor. Smash fries are a must. A bit like McD's fries but seasoned with oil, garlic, and thyme. My complaints is ordering. They do have cards for you to write down what you want for you to present to the cashier, but 90% of the time they aren't out for customers to use. I tend to forget everything I want otherwise. Also more than once there has been a mistake on my burger. It's not hard to get an employee to fix it though since they are always walking through the restaurant. It isn't cheap, for a half pound burger, smash fries, and a beer I am paying $13-14 for myself. I would pay more at Red Robin or Old Chicagos after the tip, so I find it worth it. We have been to this store three times in the last three weeks. On ALL occasions our order was wrong. Tonight's visit was the last straw. Right after placing our order, we noticed the iced tea dispenser was empty. Some chick eventually brought a large container to refill the dispenser. She proceeded to spill tea all over the counter and floor while refilling. She left with the lid of the container ajar and without wiping up her mess. Then she delivered our meal. I had ordered regular fries; my wife had ordered sweet potato smash fries. The order had regular sweet potato fries on my plate and none at all on my wife's. When we pointed out the problem we were given a crappy attitude response but eventually she brought regular fries. My wife had to get up and go back to the counter to request her fries. Eventually they too were delivered--ice cold. I asked to speak to a manager and was told he was too busy to talk to me. He never did speak to us. This is the poorest customer service and dining experience that I've experienced in several years. Is this how you value your customers? I guarantee you lost two today. We will not go back. I would recommend you contact Chick-Fil-A to learn how customer service should be provided. This was awful and disgusting. read more

Well, to be honest I typically only get smashed on weekends. That being said, given this place is close to my work, I occasionally will stop in for a burger an fries during my lunch break. I always get carry out so I can't speak to the quality of the service for dine-in. That being said, the food is always pretty darned good and probably my favorite fast-casual burger in town. If you save your receipt you can take a survey to get a free side for your next visit. I do this each time which makes the price a little more reasonable. I stick with the regular fries as the Smash Fries are a doused in too much olive oil for my taste. read more

People seem to love Smashburger, but I don't fully get it. Smashing a burger patty flat and cooking it to death is in my opinion not the right way to cook a hamburger, although many seem to like them this way. But Smashburger still has enough going for it that it has a loyal following. In a town with some fairly good competition, this is probably the best "high end" fast food in town. The classic burger is great and comes with all of the usual fixings. The Smashfries are a nice complement, deliciously fried and cooked in vegetable oil. It's a different taste for fries but it's a great one. It's on the pricey side (Burger, fries, and a drink cost ~$9) but worth it. If you're looking for a good burger, this chain is a great choice. read more

My favorite thing about this Smashburger is the view from the outdoor seating area. I prefer to come at dinner time because then any outdoor table will work and I don't have to worry about sitting in the sun. That said, they do have very good burgers. I LOVE the BBQ, cheddar, bacon burger (minus the cheddar, because I have found their cheese to be pretty rich). Both the regular and the sweet potato fries are great if you like your fries crispy. Another terrible take out experience from Smashburger. This is two in a row, so not likely to be back. I specifically stated on the online order to put two burgers in one bag and everything else in the other bag. Needed to drop of two burgers for a couple of people who were evacuated from the fires and at a hotel. Arrived and everything was in one bag. I told them which burgers needed put in a separate bag and someone did this. Didn't double check because bags sealed and freezing cold out. Dropped burgers at hotel and went home. Open bag. No onion straws (not in other bag that was left at hotel either). One of the burgers is not the right one. One of my kid's burgers at hotel and we have something they can't eat. Drive back to hotel and exchange burger. Call and ask for a refund on my onion straws. Told I have to come in in person or they can write my name down and give them to me on my next visit. Remember how bad our take out experience was last time. Go home. All food now cold. Burgers dry and overcooked. Likely our last visit. read more

Stopped here for lunch when passing through town. There was one person taking orders, one person delivering orders and I saw 2 working the grill. The line was out the door, so obviously not enough staff to accommodate the crowd. Our order was simple - one classic smash combo with regular fries and one with smash fries. It took over 30 minutes for us to receive our to go order, some of which had been sitting under the heat lamp for about 15 minutes. When we got to our vehicle and pulled out our burgers and fries, both orders of fries were regular fries - no smash fries. No bueno. The guy taking orders was pleasant, but overwhelmed. The girl delivering the orders was just overwhelmed. For the price we paid ($20 for two burgers, two fries and two drinks - for fast food, a bit much in my opinion) and for the time we had to wait for them, they should have been awesome. They weren't! Burgers are legit. They have a make your own burger, where you can just add all the toppings you want. Fries are legit, although it's hard to go wrong with fries. Reduced 1 star because they need to swap out the ketchup nozzles. It's feast or famine with the ketchup. The management and the staff are complete mushbrains and they must smoke a lot of cheap dope in the kitchen because they are absolute boneheads!
