It's been a long time since I've gotten a Smash burger I got a bacon stack burger and Dan got a classic. Next time, I will also get a classic. His looked better than mine. There seemed to be more lettuce, tomato, and onions. Also, the bacon seemed to make my burger taste more greasy. Next time we will also try to remember to ask them not to add salt while cooking it. We split a large order of fries. I gave Dan the larger portion. The picture of my food might make it look like they are stingy with the fries. They are actually very generous. It's just the way we divided them. The employees were friendly and the decor is typical for fast food restaurants. Name another burger joint that does that. Smash Burger's "Spicy Jalapeno Smash" has 'em. I had it with double meat and a side of their perfect fries. My wife went with a single patty "Classic Smash" and a small fries. Both were delicious, juicy, beefy burgers. The servings of the crispy thin fries were generous. I made the mistake of ordering large. That is enough for two people. The small order is plenty. After we sat down to wait on our food, I noticed on the menu next to the fries, "Ask to make them scorchin' hot!" Dang it, too late now. Have you tried them? I like their simple menu. A good reasonable variety of burger flavors, but nothing bizarre like a, avocado peanut butter egg and Kimchi burgers. Just burgers, fries, chicken and shakes. Simple. Order at the counter. What an awful experience. Got there an hour before close and they had closed the dining room, blasting freezing cold air. Cashier was nice but snapped at other employees and said "That's not YOUR job" when one offered to bring food that was ready out to customers waiting outside (because it was too cold to wait inside). So incredibly disappointing! The dining room was nice and tidy. However, my food was so disappointing! It was so salty. I tried my best to enjoy it, even scraping off some of the mayo off of my smashed chicken sandwich, but that didn't help. The salt was in the meat. I started to send the food back, but decided to try to stick it out and see if any of it was going to get any better. I got tater tots to accompany my sandwich. They were also too salty. Update Review: I ordered the double smoked bacon brisket burger for lunch. through doordash. It has bbq sauce , bacon, brisket, aged cheddar cheese, crinkle cut pickles, and two beef patties. This is the 2nd time I've had it, and both times, it's been great. The first time I forgot to review, but it was fantastic. It had the perfect amount of sauce, and all ingredients worked together perfectly. This time wasn't as good, because they forgot the bbq sauce, but everything else was very flavorful, juicy and tender. Food is great, really fresh and not overly greasy. I hate to say the restaurant's pretty dirty which I don't mind since I love the burgers, but it's kinda gross. Like the floor has never been swept and some of the tables are grimy. Last time I went the toilet was clogged--yuck! But let's face it, we don't go to a burger place for the dump experience. I'd like to yelp this a two or three-star but was surprised by the great-tasting turkey burger I had. This was my first smashed burger experience and I did not like the huge throng of people queued up to the counter with only one poor cashier working the crowd. At the Counter burger chain you sit at a table, fill out an order card and a server picks up the orders from your table and delivers them to the kitchen. But at Smashburger you wait and wait and wait some more. Not fun if you're there during a mealtime rush (we were). There were five people in our party and our bill came to $55. Do the math, OK? That's dinner for $11 per person which is pretty damn good. So, don't like the ordering and food delivery set-up, but did like the prices and tasty food. And I understand there be a number of Smashburger franchises in California. So I guess I'll be eating there again. read more

I had to place a order online because nobody would answer the phone after calling several times. Not lovin' it. Craft burger concept put to mass production. Known for the fries the frites are similar to the yummy herbed fries you get at gourmet restaurants. The taste is close but it does not feel fresh it feels frozen and presented well. The burger is not bad. But honestly in a market where burgers are everywhere and some stellar options exist the sandwich just did not make my top 10. NOT Terrible. I enjoyed Smashburger - this was my first time visiting and I compared it to Five Guys, another boutique burger chain I am familiar with. I thought the burgers were fresher tasting and not so huge - a thin patty with crispy edges and nice toppings on a fresh bun. The fries were ok too.
