Just a preggy lady trying to satisfy her French fry and smash burger craving. The old fashioned smash burgers were pretty good especially for Burbank! I was really shocked how good this place is. I am extremely picky when it comes to burgers. Everyone in LA and visiting will tell you the best burger in LA is Burgers Never Say Die. That is incorrect. The best burger in LA is Goldburger, and with that said my opinion was always been those are #1 and #2 but very different styles. Smashed is a hybrid between these two places. It is now easily my #2. The burgers are well priced. The meat is the perfect thickness. A lot of these smash burger places suffer from too thin of a patty which makes it all way too crispy and dry. Smashed does not have this issue. The bun is perfectly soft. They offer all the toppings you'd want on a burger. Really excited to have it here in Burbank. Pro Tip: this is downtown Burbank parking. It's kind of rough. So you'll want to park in the lot between olive and orange down the street from shake shack. There is a walk way from that leads directly to the restaurant. The Burgers Were Absolutely Amazing. The Shakes and Fries Were also Perfect. I Recommend.

My partner and I got caught walking in heavy rain at about 855pm on NYE, and we happened to be walking by Smashed Burger. It looked empty inside save for someone sweeping, but I checked google which said it was open. When I got close enough to the door it said they were open until Midnight, so we ducked inside to get out of the rain and get some food. We looked at the menu, then I went to the counter to order. I noticed that kitchen staff had the kitchen looking pristine and spotless, like it had yet to even be used. The seating area looked just as clean and tidy. That should have been my clue something was off, but in my head I thought maybe it was just dead due to NYE. The counter person took my order with no issue (Chopped cheese with the vegan patty, a protein style regular cheese burger, and a side of cheese fries). The cooks were basically prepping the food as soon as I relayed the order to the cashier. I noticed it looked like they were actually unpacking sealed/fresh ingredients to put on the grill. Confused, I asked the person at the counter if they were closing soon (again, assuming it was actually just really slow due to it being NYE). I was informed that they normally close at midnight on Sundays but that due to the holiday they were set to close at 9pm. I don't know if that posted somewhere and I just missed it, but it was then that I realized they basically had the store completely closed up and ready to walk out the door when we walked in. At no point in the process did we ever feel rushed or unwelcome to order or anything, to the point that I was sure they weren't close to closing. Either way, the food was already on the grill and the damage had already been done. I apologized, and to be honest, would have accepted (and was prepared for) any hastily made combination of ingredients, but to the contrary, it was probably the best burger and fries I've ever had from a fast food joint. You could have photographed this chopped cheese and put it in an ad, it honestly looked like a work of art. Same for the burger and cheese fries. Obviously we got the food to go, and by the time it was ready (remarkably fast for having to unpack everything), the rain had died down. Thank you for making my partner and I our last meal of 2022 and offering us a reprieve from the rain. Tip these folks well, and GIVE EVERYONE HERE A RAISE! AWESOME ALL AROUND! read more

Cool vibes inside. Burger is just OK though. I got a double smash with fries and would say that the burger is a bit small, which I would ordinarily be fine with. However, if the portions are lean, then I would hope to get the textural crisp that you would generally expect with smash burgers, which was missing here. Instead, it just felt a bit greasy and one-note (which, duh, eating a cheeseburger) without much respite (there were some pickles in there that helped a bit, but still ended up being pretty much just one flavor and texture). Would liken this more to a smaller burger from a diner as it was missing the texture and bite that you'd expect from a smash burger (particularly the crunchy and crispy bits from a smashed hamburger). Bun was also very soft and spongey (felt pretty similar to King's Hawaiian roll), but wish it was toasted (or at least toasted longer). Fries were also soggy (though for what it is worth, I actually prefer that over super crisp). Maybe I just got a bad batch as there are a ton of good reviews, so I'll need to give this place another shot in the future. Would give this a 3.5, but rounding up to 4 as I'm generally a fan of any new offerings in Burbank. Until then, think I'll need to keep making trips to Burgers Never Say Die! read more

The size of the burgers are on the smaller side so I added lettuce and tomato for extra filling.If you can handle the heat I highly recommend getting the jalapeños, added a very good flavor to the burger.
