Very cool interior vibe and friendly greeting when we entered. Perused the menu board and asked a couple question and placed our order. They said a combo had enough fries to share so we got a combo and one additional single burger Fries are HANDCUT! And dang delicious! Bravo for not using ordinary frozen fries! Burgers have tasty beef - properly smashed with lacy edges - the balance of this burger was perfect - nothing was over powering. The buns are soft potato Buns that hold up because the burger is not oversauced. Every bite was delicious The woman and the counter and the gentleman cooking were very nice There is some outside seating and a nearby parking garage made parking easy - it was just a short walk

DOUBLE SMASH BURGER 8/10: I would say that this is a pretty standard smash burger! It had lots of flavor, the bun is soft, and the smash sauce it comes with is good! My only note is the pricing. I would suggest going for the combo that comes with a burger, fries, and a drink. I added a separate burger and it was 9 bucks. I think that for 9 bucks, I would hope for perhaps a bit more than pickles, sauce, meat, cheese, and bun (I mean in general considering I only really eat burgers plain...). FRIES (CAJUN) 7/10: The fries are standard and tasty. The only reason I kept it at a 7/10 is because I was not the biggest fan of the Cajun seasoning. I would suggest this for people who like a bit of a smokey paprika flavor. Also it is an extra charge ($1/$2) to make them Cajun. AMBIANCE 9/10: Good ambiance for a burger spot. The inside is a bit dark but there is nice outside seating and it's perfect for when you just wanna grub and it's a bit warm outside. NOTES-- - There is a bathroom! - The location for this place is busy as it is in a sort of plaza. Street parking!

I'm very disappointed. My husband and I have eaten here before and loved the fact the burgers were large and worth the money. But we just ordered from GrubHub and it's no longer worth $40+ I just spent on two burgers and fries. I'm sorry I feel like I got ripped off!

This rating is considering service, food and overall experience. Restaurant is very clean and spacious. The staff were super friendly and patient when we were ordering. The food was overall good and I would come back. The smash burger alone is good, and it be honest the fries aren't the best. If you were coming with a group I would recommend just sharing a fry, the portion is big and not worth everyone getting a fry. The smash burger is good and would recommend trying it if you're looking for a quick bite!! Nutella milkshake delicious!! Nice and thick

Triple Vegan Smash Burger... I'm not crying over an amazing burger... You are!! Can I just say I'm grateful for Smashed in every way for going the extra mile to bring thoughtful plant-based options to their menu and customers that include the exact options as their traditional style smash burgers and whether your vegetarian/vegan or an omnivore you should definitely explore their single, double, triple and great style.s Don't forget the fries, fountain drinks and all the great things at Smashed Burbank. The prices are beyond reasonable and probably the best deals you'll find anywhere on smashed burgers or burgers in general. Under $10 for single vegan or non. Typically get food to go here or deliver because I'm usually heading home or to the AMC, but definitely recommend enjoying a sit down on their patio or inside. The inside is cozy and colorful, but limited seating. Good lighting, colorful decor and great service every time I've been. You can find Smashed on San Fernando Blvd in Downtown Burger between Olive (Ave) and Orange Grove (Ave). Local street parking, garage parking or easy access to various Burbank and LA Metro bus connections. Easy walk up for locals and people exploring the area. Free Wi-Fi. Clean restrooms. Family and kid friendly. Pups and dogs allowed. Open everyday at 11am until 11pm or until Midnight Thursday through Saturday. Let's get some SMASHED.

This place is sooo good! I was in the mood for some burgers and this definitely left me feeling satisfied. I ordered the Combo with a single smash burger, fries, and drink and upgraded the fries to smashed fries. Honestly, I feel like the single patty didn't have much meat so I added meat from the fries onto the burger which made it taste so much better. If you're in the mood for some burgers, I would definitely recommended either getting the double patty or getting the smashed fries because it comes with a lot of meat.

The food is delicious classic smash burger with quality ingredients and flavorful sauce! The service was kind and professional and the ambiance was a perfect little corner burger shop for late night refuel! Definitely will come back when in Burbank

One bite of my smash burger and side of pickles (pickles are more salty than sweet or vinegary)

Most smash burgers consist of a smashed hamburger patty with cheese grilled onions, pickles and secret sauce. Most smash burgers DO NOT have lettuce... just wanted to throw that out. When you walk in there is a self-ordering screen, but I had employee asked if I needed help. I thought that was nice because sometimes some people don't like to order at the self ordering screen, but we didn't know what we wanted to order so we opted to do the self ordering screen. We ordered a smashburger and The Old fashioned Burger with onion rings, cheese fries, Cajun fries and a side of pickles. The side of pickles tasted like salted pickle. The pickle was neither sweet nor vinegary. I will probably not order a side of pickles. I will say I do like the cheese fries because the cheese on top of the fries were nacho cheese style. And I appreciate that they put a lot of seasoning on the cajun fries because some people have lazy taste buds like me. The onion rings are beer battered, and I do like how I had a fat king onion ring. Between the old fashioned and the smashburger, I recommend getting the smashburger because it had a better flavor from the burger being smashed with that crisp edges and the grilled onions adding that flavor. You can tell they use Quality meat and they do advertise where they get their meat from. The 80s atmosphere from the graffiti and the old school stuff from the Game Boy to the tapes make this feel like a good hangout spot after school, date night, etc. Definitely worth trying.

Chill little spot on San Fernando Rd in Burbank. Good music and comfortable. Service was super friendly. Just grabbed a double smash burger and it was very good. They use way too much salt and I'd ask for none if I return.

The burger is way smaller and real cheese burgers. I don't know why! It's was literally 2,3 bites no lettuce, see through meet ting patty and also small The fries were just ok . Not welcoming at all Just eat and leave no one cares!

    A whole lot of grub.

As someone who eats too many burgers, It's time to review another burger shop! A few weeks back my wife and I were in Downtown Burbank to get some burgers from Smashed Burbank! This burger shop is located in a cool area surrounded by shops and restaurants and even if it's got some competition, this place was a great place to get some lunch. The menu at Smashed Burbank consists mainly of burgers, because.....you know, it's a burger shop. I ordered the double smashed cheeseburger with bacon with french fries on the side. The smashed burger itself was very good! The meat was cooked well, the cheese was melty and gooey, the bacon was the tag team partner it needed, and the buns hugged it all together to make a dang quality burger. The french fries on the side were really good and they definitely give you way more then I would of expected. Overall, Smashed Burbank is a great burger spot in downtown Burbank and definitely a place you won't be let down by. This place offers a good amount of seating, a good staff, and some quality food to fill you up. Great place, try it for yourself!

    SMASHED FRIES - pretty tasty
    Melinda B.

Had the smashed fries. They were pretty good! I wish the meat was salted a little more to really enjoy that hamburger flavor but that's okay. I loved the cheese bites. The fries were good and fresh.

    Adonis M.

These burgers were delicious! I ordered a double smash with raw onions and jalapeños which was light, but juicy. Beware, the jalapeño was very hot and I have a high tolerance. The fries were also crispy and good. The service was fairly quick and they have a walk-up machine which makes it easy to order. The restaurant itself has a nice aesthetic and a chill vibe.

Ask the Community - Smashed Burbank

Are the vegan burgers completely vegan? I noticed it says the cheese is. Are the buns and burger sauce vegan too?

Not sure about the buns and sauce but the patty and the cheese are vegan

Do all the burgers have bacon? Or do they have one that's only beef?

No they all do not have bacon. They also have a vegan burger that is very good.

Is everything vegan? Or it's just some items on the menu? :)

It's a regular burger restaurant that offers a vegan option.

... whats on the menu??.. don't see one posted yet

Located in a converted cottage on that triangular corner just before Riverside and Alameda split, they offer both patio and indoor seating with a comfy, no frills set-up. The staff is uniformly friendly and accommodating, and they kept things moving nicely despite a very busy dinner rush. As I mentioned, the menu is very diverse, the focus being on Thai dishes but also offering burgers, pasta & meatballs (vegan, of course), salads, and kid-friendly options like chicken nuggets and fries. Since we were a table of 5 and it was our maiden voyage, we ordered a number of starters: Vegetable Gyoza (very tasty), Portobello Fries (hearty and tender in a flavorful crust), regular French Fries and Garlic Fries (both just serviceable). Mains included Pad Thai, Khao Soi with Fried Tofu, the aforementioned Spaghetti & Meatball Bolognese, a Yellow Curry with Chicken and, for the heck of it, Chicken Nuggets. Those nuggets didn't impress, and were mostly left over. Pad Thai and the Bolognese were better, but both needed an extra hit of flavor. Yellow Curry and Khao Soi were the best of the bunch, with rich flavors that were quite satisfying. As I mentioned before, we discovered that portions here are VERY large (especially for the prices), and quite a lot of food came home. Each dish could easily feed 2 people, maybe 3, and I suggest keeping that in mind when you order. That said, Something Vegan is a comfy, cozy and friendly place that works well for couples, groups, singles or families, and you'll get a lot of bang for your buck -- they just need to put a little more bang in their flavor profiles.

A third of the tables were taken and there was only 3 parties ahead of us in line to order. There is ample outdoor seating (some shaded in the vine-covered pergola), which is great for dogs and watching horses trotting by. There are about a dozen tables inside if you wanted to escape the elements. The only drawback is the limited parking. This place reminds me of East Austin - rustic, converted spaces turned into a dinette or cafe. And, the service reflect the laid-back atmosphere - counter ordering, beverages you pick up at an adjacent counter before sitting, food delivered to tables by order number placards, and self-service leftover boxes. The cashier was friendly and the bussers chatted with regular customers & smiled often. I ordered the Brisket Breakfast Burrito - tender smoked brisket with egg, cheese, beans and hash browns rolled into a grilled tortilla. I could have done without the beans and a side of sour cream along with the side of salsa would have made the dish perfect for my preferences. My husband had the Mom's Biscuits and Gravy - pepper gravy over crumbly & buttery biscuits, flavorful chopped sausage, and instead of eggs they allowed a substitution of fresh cut fruit. The diced seasoned breakfast potatoes were really yummy too. As a sharable side, I ordered the Parm Garlic Fries - crispy thin-cut wide fries that was the perfect vehicle for the salty parm, fragrant garlic, and herbaceous rosemary and basil blend. The only downside was the fries arrived warm, not hot (probably cooling at the pass while the runner waited for another entree). I'd order it again with the request for extra crispy fries. I also enjoyed the cold brew coffee that packed a lovely amount of caffeine. My husband liked the peach arnold palmer a lot - it was well mixed and sweet. As we sat inside, we watched the steady line grow while was enjoyed the meal and caught up with you dear friend (2 hours long). By the way, my friend ordered the Breakfast Quesadilla, which looked really good and well stuffed. I look forward to coming here again...and definitely on the earlier side to ensure the line is short.

Unfortunately, my first visit back in two years was extremely disappointing. My server wasn't very communicative and didn't explain the menu, portion sizes, or that many dishes were meant to be shared, so I ended up ordering far more food than I needed. The food was not what I remembered. The curry was overly salty, I didn't enjoy the dumpling filling, and the protein inside the spring rolls had an unpleasant aftertaste. Overall, I simply didn't like the food (beside the vegetables soup) The atmosphere was extremely overwhelming. The outdoor seating I used to enjoy was gone, and inside the restaurant was crowded and very noisy, with loud customers, music, and kitchen noise all competing at once. After a long day, I was hoping for a relaxing dinner, but instead left with a strong migraine, I was trying to eat and felt like I wanted to run away from there to just get peace & quiet. When I paid, I explained that I genuinely didn't like most of the food. Despite barely eating more than a soup, a few bites of curry, and one spring roll, I was still charged $53 and was told "there was nothing they could do about it" This restaurant is nothing like the Hope Kitchen I used to know. Between the disappointing food, poor service, and uncomfortable atmosphere, it was a terrible experience. I won't be returning, and I cannot recommend it.

Our favorite dishes are the Chow Mein (best!), Orange Chicken, and Thai Spaghetti (so good, so spicy). For appetizers, the portobello are delicious and pair so well with the ranch. They're seriously addicting. But I highly recommend the Crab Won Tons, especially if it's your first-time. They have some parking available in the back (accessible via the alley), but if there aren't spots available, I recommend street parking on Bennett Drive (nice neighborhood) and either walking down the alley for the back entrance or walking along Cahuenga to go through the front. The restaurant overlooks Cahuenga, the 101, and the backside of the Universal Studios mountains - just ideal for a quick stop and casual bite. With its proximity to Universal, we opt to eat here and highly recommend that other park-goers eat here instead, as it's on par with the price of amusement park food yet way better quality. We've been going here for almost a decade, and everyone we take here loves it. The dishes are large enough to order as family style or enjoy solo. This is a family-owned staple of the Studio City area and I love seeing regulars here who appreciate it as much as me.

Unfortunately, innovation is still lacking in the vegan fried chicken department. The pros: - The breading was impressive: it had a really satisfying crunch and there was actually enough of it and a good breading to "chicken" ratio. Nobody likes a sad naked nugget when you were promised a juicy breaded tender. - The fries were very solid, and the chick sauce was addictive and kind of indescribable in flavor. The cons: - The biggest problem that plagues all vegan fried chicken: the base that they use for the "chicken" is bland and tasteless, with a borderline unpleasant texture. It's all about the breading anyways, so why can't we just put that breading over a mushroom or a cauliflower?! I hate the weird artificial spongy texture they come up with instead. - Like everything I've ever gotten from Doomie's, the food feels too salty and too heavy before I'm even halfway through my meal. The neutral: - I wasn't sure how I felt about my Nashville hot seasoning, but since I don't have much to compare it to, maybe that's just the style? I did like how some of the flavor got soaked up by the piece of bread though. The search for the perfect vegan fried chicken continues! My favorite vegan fried chicken to date is from a brand called Atlas Monroe that they used to have at Uncool Burgers (RIP). I also enjoyed the fake McChicken at Mr. Charlie's, but a McChicken isn't a fried chicken sandwich, y'know?

It comes in a bed of fries + a buttery toast. You have a selection of 5-ish flavors to choose from. From the flavors, I've tried: extra hot - YES, this is really spicy. Be careful if you order this. tangy garlic herb - really good. It's garlicky but also has a strong acidic lemon-ey taste. korean sweet - pretty good if you like korean fried chicken The sauce that's included (Chicky Sauce) is HEAVENLY. It's similar to Chick Fil A sauce. It's so good that I ended up caving and buying a bottle of it for $7.
