Umm very strange place I must say... they were blasting EDM through the whole lobby and patient rooms?? Which have no privacy by the way, there are no walls... just plastic room dividers so you can hear the person next to you gargling and getting drilled away... how nice! I booked a cleaning through Groupon. At my visit, they strongly recommended a "deep cleaning" and I agreed. I was charged $950 for what ended up being about one hour of treatment. A few months later, I saw a different dentist who said that I need to undergo deep cleaning again. I was surprised because, when I asked how often SRP typically needs to be done, I was told it's usually a one-time procedure. I also didn't feel my gum issues improved after the their treatment. Be aware of this fraudulent Dental Practice!!! I should it knew better the first day I went to this place, but It's so difficult to find a good dentist in NYC that I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Since the first day, they tried to make me agree with the Invisalign procedure, which I thought it was not a bad idea. They did a huge plan on which I was very skeptical. On the first appointment, they did all the X-Rays. When I received the treatment plan, I saw they wanted to do a crown on a tooth that, to my knowledge it was extracted years ago. On my second appointment, I explained I was not doing the crown, and I explained everything. They were rushing to sign, and I refused, but I signed two other procedures. The oral hygienist was very professional and did a great job. Now is when the things went south. Everyone said just explain to the dentist your situation, I said no problem. OMG ! The Dentist its sooo arrogant that words can't explain!!! I tried to explain, and he treated me like I was so dumb! He screamed, "What! It's right there! you can see it. " I was in shock! like what the heck! I am going to pay this dentist to treatment like shit! HELL NOOO! Listen! because you have an MD after your name, doesn't mean you can treat people like dirt, especially the ones you are going to charge for the service you are going to perform. After my name, I have a JD, and I don't believe I am better from someone else. Maybe etiquette classes would be a great addition to your life. After a back and forth with him, he stated, "I am going to write this information to your file." I replied, " Excellent, great, is fine." Listen! if you don' t do a job because I didn't even sign the approval for you to do the job, how can I file a complaint? See! now you aren't so smart. After that awful and nasty incident, I decided I was NEVER coming back to this practice. I called and requested a refund. One month passed, and I was still waiting for the refund for services that were NOT PROVIDED. If the service were not provided, it's illegal to charge for those services. I have all the cost from the "treatment plan" that I never agreed. Now I started the procedures to get reimbursed without necessity because it's obviously if the dental procedures aren't done, you CAN'T CHARGE!!!! If they were a legal dental practice, they were not necessary for me to start a complaint thru Cherry payment or maybe even go further for a reimbursement of services that were charged but not provided. read more

Beware. They strong arm people into expensive payment plans for Invisalign. Went in for a $25 Groupon cleaning, which is clearly a loss leader because they'll spend more time scamming you into Invisalign than cleaning your teeth. Before I even met the doctor they spent 30 minutes taking pictures and X-rays to use as visual aids for a presentation to pitch Invisalign. I had never even considered it before, but they convinced me that my jaw bone would deteriorate/overall health would decline if I didn't get it immediately. I asked them if I could come back once my dental insurance kicked in and they advised against insurance (?!), told me they'd give me the "student discount" and pressured me to pay out of pocket. I signed up for a $8k payment plan on the spot out of fear, only to do more research when I got home. I read countless other similar sketchy scam experiences at this place on Yelp. I got a second opinion that Invisalign would be 100% cosmetic for me. Thank God I could still back out! The receptionist seemed to take it personally that I was quitting my contract, giving me petty one word responses to all my questions. I still paid them $1800 to do a deep cleaning later, which I do think I needed, but after researching the process which is usually a 2 session job that lasts hours I am now skeptical that they did it correctly since it took only 45 minutes of agony for all 4 quadrants at one time. This was 6 months ago. Today, I got a surprise "reminder" text about an appointment they say I made. Of course I didn't. They tried to scare me again with the bone loss threat but I'm never going back there. This place feels totally disingenuous, unprofessional, and weird. read more

If I could give minus a star I would. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! They do not deserve even 1 STAR!!! I was told my Invisalign treatment would cost $5,000 if I paid cash up front. I paid in full. But after two years, I've spent over $7,000--and now they want another $1,300 just to finish the treatment. Every visit includes new surprise charges, always discussed quietly in private with no itemized explanation. It's extremely shady and unprofessional. The so called office manager is a scammer along with Dr. Noor, the owner. Worse, my bite was never fully corrected. I was the one who pointed out that the trays were pulling on my bottom teeth too hard, risking permanent damage. Only then did they switch me to a bottom brace. That correction came from me, not their expertise. To top it off, I was given a cheap knockoff retainer instead of Invisalign. It broke almost immediately. Now I'm being told I have to pay again--for either another low-quality version or even more money for the actual Invisalign retainers. This feels like a bait-and-switch operation. PSA: AVOID SMILE CAFE NYC. FRAUDULENTLY CHARGES YOUR DENTAL INSURANCE I made sure it was a free consult and they assured me it was (via email). I did the usual xrays & scans for Invisalign consults. They asked me for my insurance to check my coverage which is not out of the ordinary. However, what gave me my first red flag was that they also asked for my health insurance because they said since I have TMJ issues, my Invisalign would be covered partially by my health insurance as well. I didnt feel like they were trustworthy so I didn't move forward with them. They also spam called and texted me as well which I thought was extremely unprofessional (attached some texts). I later realized today that they charged my dental insurance for exams & xrays. This effectively used up $600 of my lifetime maximum with my dental insurance. Please avoid, and most definitely do not give them any sensitive info. I would have never expected a professional office to do this. I was also billed that I saw Dr Joseph Kim but I have no idea who he is since the person who I did the consult with was Dr. Noor. I would very much appreciate this to be rectified. read more

I went here on a Groupon and for a cleaning and consultation on Invisalign. I am looking for a new dentist. I thought the doctor was very informative. I ended up going with an orthodontist based on a referral who does nothing but braces and does not require me to go through a finance company to pay for the braces. They were also a lot less expensive. In the end, while it seemed like he was very knowledgeable it felt a bit like a mill. When I wasn't able to immediately go online to look up the financing I think that they lost interest. I ultimately was able to qualify for a zero interest finance plan but the payments were too high for me. read more

Legit the best office I could find. I previously came in for a cleaning and after a routine X-Ray, they found 6 cavities and two crown replacements. I expected as much as I have been having sensitivity on multiple sides of my mouth. Came again and was seen by Dr. Noor and Dr. Kim. They performed multiple fillings in under an hour and booked me again for the rest of my procedures I need done. The fillings were rather painless and expertly done - I can hardly tell the difference between what is my natural tooth and what is the composite they put in. Their main priority is upselling. Do not trust them. I booked a simple cleaning and ended up being there for two hours while they lied to me about dental issues that I didn't have. First, there was an excessive amount of x-rays and scans that took over 30 minutes. Then the first dentist brought me in for a consultation and was trying to awkwardly chit chat and butter me up asking a bunch of random personal questions and making comments about how young I look. It was giving timeshare salesman. He took me to a room to look at my teeth scans and said my teeth were in great condition (they are) then he suggested that I could use a retainer for my crowding bottom teeth which was fine. He also suggested that I fill in the teeth where my gum receded. That was fine too. But for today, I just want a cleaning. Here is where it gets mental. The 2nd dentist (why is there a 3rd person in my mouth?) suggested that my front tooth is dying. It's not. Then he pretended that the coffee stains on my molar was a cavity. It's not. The first dentist then co-signed this bullsht and told me they can fix my "cavity" easily. Another dentist tried to pull the same crap on the same tooth 10 years ago. Since then, every other dentist has confirmed it is NOT a cavity. I have no cavities. Never have. Then I had to fill this insanely useless, long and endless form. At some point it asks for your photographs and social security number. DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM. It also asked for my credit card information which I also left blank because WTF? Finally, nearly 2 hours later, it's time for a cleaning where dentist #2 buzzed around my mouth pretending like he was doing something for ten minutes. My teeth were not cleaned. I was there for 2 hours and only 10 minutes of that was spent half cleaning my teeth. Finally, I asked for a quote to get the gum filling. Dentist #1 claimed he's giving me a discount so I'm paying what he charges his family because I'm so great and he's such a nice guy. Then the guy writing the quote pretended to be doing all of this math behind the computer to calculate this alleged family discount I was getting. It was $380 per tooth. I asked for them to print out the quote for me (I will never go back to this clown show again, I just wanted to see what they would do). The guy said that it was impossible to print a quote because of his system (It's almost 2025, but printing quotes is a technical impossibility), so he said he would email me. Did I ever get the quote? No. Why? Because they are utterly, callously, an unabashedly full of shit. STAY AWAY. This is not a medical facility, it's a hustle. If you're not careful you will end up enduring and paying for unnecessary procedures. read more

New to nyc. Don't let the 5 stars fool you. They pay clients to post 5 stars and reward them with free services !! When i came for an Invisalign adjustment , the dr drilled HOLES into my INVISALIGN. Before he did this i told him not to touch it, he claimed putting a bubble dent would make it tighter??? However , not only could i NOT even put the retainer into my mouth, he did it to both top and bottom. My Invisalign was unusable. My main concern was pain when not wearing my Invisalign, after just 20 min, and now i can't wear it for weeks until i get mew trays. My previous dentist transferred my Case here. Now after 10 days , and taking NEW SCANS AT THIS OFFICE!! they email me saying they won't take me case and to go bsck to my old dr (where it is now transferred away from) Still no Invisalign !! THEY LIED and billed my insurance - and have REFUSED TO REFUND the overpayment, ignoring my calls and calls and letters from my insurance provider. This medical office is a total scam. They will talk to you and agree for some terms and you will believe in that, but their main idea is to put you on recurring payments forever. I supposed to be with them for year and three months for Invisalign treatment. But at the end of one year they told me that something went wrong and they have to order me new containers with no extra charge. I was waiting for them at least one month and then wearing them, then again they told me that something again went like they didn't expected and they have to order new containers and of course I won't pay for that. They charged me 2000$ in the beginning and then they charged me 225$ every month. When I started to understand that I might be charged more, I talked to their financial representative and he reassured me that I won't be charged extra than in my contract ( 5800$). Long story short: I was ripped of for extra 4k and job that supposed to be done in 1,5 years wasn't finished in 3 years still but it doesn't stop them to try to charge me more - I had to call my bank and tell this story so they block them bc they don't respond to my emails, calls and etc. Btw their other survives are horrible as well: root canal for 1200$ was done not right and I got confirmation about that with two orthodontists. There aren't many places where one would return after having their first visit via a Groupon purchase...I had such a pleasant experience that I returned 6 months later for my cleaning and fillings. The practice is very organized and they stick to the appointment time. Maybe one feedback about being too organized is that they send out multiple appointment reminders so it could get a bit overwhelming. Staff are friendly and the dentist I had was very attentive.
