Quite honestly, I'm a bit puzzled by the high volume of five star reviews here. Maybe for this area this is a quality nail spa, but from my perspective it was really lacking. Firstly, I called and I actually made an appointment for three people to come in and have a pedicure. First thing, they weren't ready for us when we came in - all of the employees were mid pedicure or manicure. They pulled us back one by one into chairs, at a staggered rate. While they did apologize, after we pointed out that we made an appointment, it was pretty unprofessional that they were unprepared and disorganized in their appointments. My pedicure was mediocre at best. Granted, I did choose the $20 option without the bells and whistles. I expect, however, that even if I select the lowest caliber of service that at least my calluses will be appropriately taken care of and that my feet will feel really smooth when I leave. It was about 50/50 on the smoothness. My nails, were, however, painted perfectly and the lady who did my feet was nice and personable. The gentleman who seemed to be in charge was also very nice. The salon was decently clean, albeit cluttered which made me initially question the cleanliness, but clean nonetheless. I'm not sure I'd come here again if I lived here for the reasons listed above. It was an ok place to go, but I've just experienced so much better that this was a flop experience for me, and therefore I'm awarding two stars. read more

I have been testing out nail salons for my wedding that is coming up so I wanted to try this place since it had great reviews. I should have know when I walked in not to get a mani pedi here. The place was not very welcoming or inviting. No one was really helpful in directing you for picking out gel colors or where to go or even if you could be seen. I got there right when they opened. The pedicure was ok but I did not see them use any cleaner after "cleaning" my chair when my pedi was done. Also don't expect to get a mani/pedi at the same time. You get the pedi first and then get transferred to a chair for a mani so plan to spend a lot of time there. The mani was horrible. My nails were all shaped to different styles and shapes and none are even. I keep asking for oval and they keep saying round. I also asked them to fix some broken nails that I got the day before at the gym only to find out they don't just repair broken nails without doing a full fill. This is ridiculous and I have never heard of this. I just wanted a tip with gel polish like most places do. They also told me there was no way they could do. A lace design I showed them a picture of, but they didn't offer me a similar option but... a flower. Wow! I left with a set of misshapen, badly manicure, and clear polished nails that I paid way too much for. I would never recommend this place. Much better, much cheaper places around with better service and a cleaner environment. read more

I've been to this establishment twice. I've had Mary twice. I love her! She really cares about her work and about making her customers comfortable. All of the nail technicians have been friendly, including Paul especially! Unfortunately, I did not get the name of the lady who took care of my feet since she kind of left abruptly to assist someone else. She was very efficient, thorough, and sweet. I bought a gel mani/pedi. Without the tip, it came out to $75. I'm testing to see if gel is worth the expense over the traditional polish. We'll see! This place was super busy on a Friday afternoon. They have always honored my appointments regardless of busyness and I noticed they were accommodating everyone despite being short staffed. All of the customers looked happy and satisfied. Soooo I found my new place for gel nails and I am BEYOND HAPPY! I called the today (3/15/18) around 3:15 for 2 pedicures and 1 gel mani, and I was able to get an appointment for 4:30, awesome! The place is a little tricky to get to, so he explained directions to me which was very nice!!! We arrived at 4:15 and he (assuming the owner) took us to our pedicure stations to soak within 5 minutes. My boyfriends pedicure was so fast and simple, I feel that $20 was a little much considering they literally only cut his nails and a mini massage, but he enjoyed it. For my pedicure I got the $3 special, $28 because I wanted calls removed. My girl was awesome! Took her time and I loved It, she didn't speak much English so they turn to someone else for translation. My manicure was started with the lady who did my mans toes, and I was told Cathy would be doing my nails so I asked for clarification and the owner came over and told the girl to leave and she was pretty rude anyways ‍. Been trying to find a nail place in Oceanside and stumbled across Smile Nails (I found it on Yelp)- so glad I did!! Nancy did my pedicure and she did a wonderful job. They have different packages starting at $20 for a pedicure, and you can get a regular mani/pedi for $32. They also offer gel mani for $25. Super pleased with my experience and the owner even walked over to check how my feet looked when she was done. All of the staff was really friendly- I will be back! read more

I have gotten two manicures here and actually they were pretty nice and the girls who did them were great. I would give those girls 4 or 5 stars. This review is lower because of the manager who's rudeness and carelessness would get the place one star. She was not there the first two times I visited. She was when I returned from the second mani pedi for two reasons. First because the "matching" polish for gel and regular hands and toes changed color after I left. Within a few hours to a strange orange instead is the mauve pink of my toes. Second I broke a toe nail and hoped to get it fixed. First I was told I was at the wrong place as she had never seen me. She told me I did not get my mani pedi there. I told her I was at the right place and described to her the women who helped me last time, one of whom was there. She then told me the color couldn't have changed, even though I showed her. She asked twice more if I was at the right place. I went directly to the place on the wall that the matching polish was at and grabbed the bottle and showed her. She then said she couldn't fix my nail. It wasn't possible. I then asked for a wrap or glue. She says she couldn't. I then asked if she could file it and fix the polish so it won't get worse. She said something to someone else and he asked me to sit. She came over in a few minutes had me remove my shoes and pulled out some latex gloves. I informed her that I was allergic to latex and she said "these aren't latex" and proceeded to start putting them on. I stopped her and firmly said "the box says latex." (This can be a life or death allergy). She then threw up her hand and said "you will have to wait for someone else to do your nail". After a few minutes the girl who had helped in the past took two minutes to change my polish and file my nail. She explained to me that the girl who wasn't there brings her own latex free gloves. She did a great job and refused payment or tip. Once again I would give HER 5 stars. The manager could have literally sent me to the hospital or worse and was rude. I won't return. read more

I have been here before and had a really great experience, however this time it wasn't so great. I wanted a simple pedicure and manicure. I had the guy that works there do my pedicure, which was totally fine but every time someone would walk in he would stop what he was doing to help them. I believe he is the owner so I understand why he was busy n helping everyone but it definitely didn't make my experience great. Love!!! Nancy who did my gel manicure did an amazing, clean, good job. Nancy filed my nails to the perfect shape and very evenly. There was no issue with her breaking my nails like I have at some places. She also put on a number of coats and had me cure each coat twice so that it was extra strong. I feel amazing with my nails looking so spot on and am ready for the weekend. I didn't catch the name of the woman who did my toes but she also did an excellent job. I paid 5 extra from the base pedicure for the callus remover and she really put the work in. Honestly, my feet really needed a pedicure and they did an excellent job at cleaning my feet up and making them perfectly groomed for the weekend. read more

Everyone who worked here was very inviting. They spoke ENGLISH which is huge to me and didn't try to tell me what I wanted or what they thought would look best. Now the reason I've been waiting is because I wanted to see how the job held up. I'm a very busy person with 2 kids and a full time job I don't have the time to be getting my nails done every 2 weeks. I feel the acrylic should last longer than that. Even before putting on the nail polish I was already in love with the natural application of the nails. Nancy did my sister's nails. Everyone was really courteous when I walked in. I had called earlier for an appointment and arrived 15 minutes earlier than my appointment time, they were busy but as soon as Andy was done he seated me and started talking to me about what kind of nails I wanted. Also, the person who is in charge of the front gave me and my sister a bottle water, I think it to be a very friendly gesture.
