Skip this restaurant. We ordered a 3 piece fried chicken, 3 piece catfish filet and the seafood pasta. $44 plus change. Folks were extremely friendly at the counter but their follow up service was horrible. We waited at our table and about 20 minutes later the chicken was brought out with the pasta. The chicken was a might overcooked on the outside. The seafood pasta was average in flavor and too much salt. We had to remind them about the catfish and about 20 minutes later it arrived without the fries. They finally brought the fries but they were only half cooked and very soggy. The fish was served hot. I have eaten better catfish. It was also a bit dark on the outside. We asked for more tartar sauce but none came. We asked again and were told it's made in house but they were out, huh. Sweet tea was extremely sweet. I couldn't drink it. The soft drink machine was broken. The restaurant was not very clean and neither was the restroom. I'm wondering what the kitchen looked like. I'm doubtful it was very clean. The staff was busy engaging with the patrons they knew and each other. We felt totally overlooked and under appreciated. We will never return to this restaurant! read more

This place is a Lubbock staple. The food is good for the most part. Everyone is friendly and make you feel welcomed and at home. I recommed most of the food especially the Fried Catfish and except the Ramen bowl. I don't know if they out sugar in it but the broth is sweet instead of savory. Smiley's was good. The fish and fries were hot and flavorful. I ordered catfish filets and my husband order whole catfish. The flavors were rich in my filets, tasted like a combination of seasoned salt, lemon pepper and cajun. His whole catfish texture was fried good but tasted like it was fried in dirty grease. They tasted completely different. I would try again but my husband says he wont. read more

Wanted to try something new. Very disappointed. Payed 10$ for 6 wing combo that was advertised for 8$,Waited about a half hour for food. Noticed it was getting a little busy so I thought Mabey this was a good choice til the food came. I order lemon pepper wings that had to have been dip individually in a bucket of salt after it came out the grease . It was awful. I ate the first wing thinking Mabey every one else have been seasoning them wrong the then the next piece I had to peal the skin off . I just ate the fries and threw the rest away . Y put that much salt on wings why. I don't usually do reviews but that was horrible like wtf read more

Well I have nothing but great things to say about this place! It was very clean when we walked in and we were greeted with a smile! The recommended the catfish fillets and so that's what I ordered. The flavor was on point and they cooked it perfectly! My sides were coleslaw and French fries, again tasty! My wife ordered the chicken strip basket with red beans , fries and coleslaw and she said it was great! We will definitely return another day! Oh and the best puff rolls with honey I have had!! i got the 2 filet and drink combo. i was so excited to finally get some good fish. the people were nice and very sweet. made sure we had everything we needed. but once i tasted the fish that was out the window. it's WAY too salty. like i feel like I have high blood pressure now. the fries were under. the only good thing was their coke. read more

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Went in to order the whole catfish and told would take 20 minutes. Fine as I like fresh catfish. 40 minutes later still waiting in the front area. I see the cook take an order to front counter and the guy there puts it back towards the kitchen. I wait another 10 minutes. Finally I go and ask for my money back. The guy yells at the cook, the cook says the order is right there. Told her would be fine if I worked there I could just walk back there and get my order. Of oit has been ready for 10 minutes why didn't anybody give me my food ! Terrible service. The tables were all dirty and no one was in a hurry to clean them up. Saw other customers with wrong orders and long wait times and the line to order wasn't even long. Only good thing is the cashier didn't argue with me when I asked for my money back.
