Summer vacationers here! We've made this a stop the last three years we've been up. My boyfriend's family ran an arcade growing up so his standards are pretty high. They switch the games out to ensure novelty and are well maintained. And the food is fantastic! We've got some picky eaters in our group, but our vegetarian had several options (she chose the ramen- loved it) and we all enjoyed the other offerings. Went for the Arcade but never actually played the games. The food was surprisingly good...we couldn't tell if we just had low standards being an arcade or because it was actually good. Burger was great. Steak was amazing. Even salad was not bad. Great pricing for both drinks and food. First time dining, server told us one of their staff members called out so their kitchen is behind if we are okay waiting a bit. We really appreciated the communication. Server still had a smile on the whole time and checked up on us. Paying is digital QR code which we loved. Didn't have to wait on her. My husband and I loved this place! It's not easy to find an arcade bar that also makes great drinks, and they manage to do both really well at Flashback! The staff were so friendly, there are plenty of games to keep my husband busy and my dirty martinis were made perfectly! It gives dive bar vibes which I love, but with high brow cocktail bar drinks. This Establishment was one I wanted to check out before I left Hyannis. During the day, I saw families coming in and out and happily dining and playing video games from a period that would bring a Gen X'er or Older Millennial back in time. Very happy setting, service was on point ons quick. Wanted to try something to eat but was incredibly full from dinner. People were friendly. Hidden gem for something that's not going to break the bank, cool vibe, casual and the burgers are great! Well my crew liked them and one is pretty harsh on burgers lol. I went with the chicken on grilled sourdough - so good! Basic food done right. I'm always a bit of a sucker for shoestring fries too. The walls are lined with arcade games of the past for some cool nostalgia - oh and you can play them too! Donkey Kong. Enough said! Service was good, friendly, brew list isn't overwhelming but has something for everyone! All I'm going to say is everyone gets to Main Street and huddles around the Kennedy museum. Walk the opposite way! This place is definitely worth a try. If they were on the other end of Main Street I'm sure there would be a wait -- there should be. If you are looking for a break from the higher end, from all the seafood and just want to kick back and try to figure out the alphabet of 80's movies poster (still can't get the letter V...) while your kid plays the video games you used to...go. My family and I came here to check out the pinball machines because my dad loves pinball. We sat down and had a meal. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was very good. This place is so cool. The walls are lined with old-school arcade games like guitar hero, Pac-Man, etc. the pinball machines are great. Great little spot in the heart of downtown Hyannis. We went for lunch on a Saturday and the server was attentive and working hard throughout our stay and had a great personality. With a relatively standard pub fare menu, the food was much better than your normal pub expectations with the Cobb salad, fish tacos and the Bird is the Word sandwich real winners for our table. A nice selection of some retro video games and pinball machines that helped not just pass the time while waiting for food but also added a cool atmosphere to the place. I took my son to this place and we had such a great time! Food was yummy (especially the Rodeo Burger), drinks were on point and the servers and bar tenders are awesome! This place is fucking freezing, so be prepared to bring a jacket. The service is fine, the waitress took our order without writing anything down which made me nervous, and lo and behold, she forgot my chicken tenders and gave me the worst wings I've ever had. My friends also got burgers and said they were pretty bad. The two good things about this place is the pretzel, which was pretty good and the fries. She also handed us a straw without wrapping, just putting her fingers all over the straw which was nasty. She also charged us for a side of ranch, which was a 1$...Moving onto the arcade part, two of the games we tried didn't even work and ate the quarters. So while the idea of this place is nice in practice, I'd say skip out for the food and just go to an actual bar. read more

I've been having a fantastic time enjoying the martinis at this bar. They've got a great selection of vodkas and know how to make me a perfect cosmo. Went here just to eat. My hotel was nearby and they had some deals going. The staff was very nice and friendly. They honored my coupon even though they had some trouble verifying it. I want to say nice things but the truth is that the fish and chips was not so great. It was OK but in this area most of the seafood is excellent. The games looked like fun and the location is good. Mediocre food. It took an hour to be made, but that was because they were busy. I ordered a grilled cheese and tomato soup last night and i shit you not they gave me CONDENSED tomato soup, like the one from the can that you're supposed to add water to, but they just left that part out entirely. The food here was AMAZING, we got the Michelangelo pizza and added pepperoni and it was so crispy and the crust was delicious! The wings and tenders didn't have anything special but they were still very well done, juicy, and crispy. The service was great, our waiter was very funny and nice. After coming here twice, I can safely say I will return again. This is a good restaurant for drinks after work, lunch with a friend or dinner with the family. The 80's video hame theme is cool. There are new and old pinball machines and video games that are reasonably priced compared to the big arcades. The food and drink is great too! Prices are fair and portions are good. The menu has fun names that bring you back to the 80's. They have great appetizers, salads, burgers and entrees. The churros are delicious. I've had churros made fresh by a street vendor in Mexico and these ones definitely rate high. Not 5 stars because service is a little slow, but quite friendly, and the place is a little too dark, maybe hiding some cleanliness issues. Bit I'm still going back for more. read more

We drive over 20 mins excited to come here. Parking is a challenge so be forewarned. After we got inside my first impression was it was dirty. Nobody greeted us, there was no hostess or sign. We sat at the only clean table available and were ignored by a waitress who passed by us 3 or 4 times. If she was busy helping other customers I could understand but appearantly sorting silverware and wiping down tables takes precedence over customers sitting waiting for some sign of life from the people that work there. My advice- enjoy your vacation and don't come here. They obviously have invested well and don't need your money. read more

I'm giving this business one star for their complete disregard to make sure their customers happy. I vacationed here back in November. Just three nights no biggie. My boyfriend and I couldn't wait to go here. It was so cute, decent drinks. My boyfriend had more fun than me I'm sure you can guess why. The bartender was awesome. Cute brown haired girl in a beanie. Very nice. Anyway, we bought two shot glasses for $10. Had cute 80s themed font and said they bar name. I collect glasses from our vacations like the tacky chick I am so I thought it was awesome. Cut to my being home and washing them for ONE day. All I did was have warm water, not even hot running over the glass. Picked it up and the font smudged right off... like I didn't even take a sponge to it. I thought "no big deal." My boyfriend said to hit them up on IG so I did. I did and whoever answered me was polite and responsive however never sent anything... I asked a second time as a friendly reminder, they apologized and said they would try to get it to me before the holidays. Never received money back or the item replaced. Just kind of disappointing. TLDR: My replacement shot glass never came despite being told twice it would be shipped. read more

Really cool idea. I love that Flashback offers a type of nightlife that no one else on Cape does. We came with a group and all of the guys had a blast. I would say that the girls were bored. This place was awesome! We vacationed at the Cape a couple towns over and my husband recommended this place as he had been there a month before for guys weekend. Had both kids with us (8yo & 5yo) and we all LOVED it!!! Went back twice because it was so great. The service was quick, servers very knowledgeable and polite, the games were fantastic, and the food was amazing! My son has food allergies and they were more than happy to make something off menu for him, my daughter got a grilled cheese (triple decker!) and the Tetris tots which were perfectly crispy, my husband and I shared plates because we couldn't decide what to get... we shared the bacon flight (oh yeah), the salt and vinegar wings (we could eat them over and over again they were so good), the ramen bowl (I prefer ramen a little saltier but my husband thought it was perfect, it was still very good) and the fish and chips (fish was fried perfectly, fries were really good, homemade coleslaw and tartar were delicious). I ordered a drink from the bar, all of which are named for video games, and it was absolutely fantastic... Street Fighter's Breakfast (ha!) Now the games... holy crap it was like re-living our childhood!!! Our kids were all over the place and had a BLAST (not to mention the fun WE had)! Very convenient way to get tokens, just let your server know how much you want and they bring them right to the table for you and add it right to your bill. No fishing around for dollars to put in a machine to exchange and the games also take quarters. The atmosphere was great, they have a lot of posters and nostalgic pieces throughout and the prices were very reasonable. We NEVER come to Hyannis. EVER. We traveled down ocean street to find a place to sit outside, but with the summertime crowds, we had no luck. So we ventured to Main Street. Needless to say, are we so glad we did. We truly found a diamond in the rough amongst dozens of restaurants. We came here with an open mind, looking for something different, and boy did we find it!! So surprised at the quality and originality of the food being served here. Upon seeing the restaurant, it's on the not-so-savory end of Main Street, and it's a little dark looking, but we decided to give it a go, if anything, just to see what the whole arcade thing was about. We were MORE THAN pleasantly surprised. The food is ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. They have items on this menu that are hard to come by on the cape. Pork belly burger, short rib wontons, hot soft pretzels with bacon jam and pimento cheese. The ultimate was the chowder (see photo). Mad with pork belly and garnished with hand cut fries right in the chowder. Effing AMAZING. Blows any other award-winning Cape Cod chowder OUT OF THE WATER. I can't say enough about this place. The only thing I would say is they need to have something outside to get people in here and let them know just how good the food is. Clowns, balloons, baby animals, whatever!!! If you're looking to try something new on the cape (as we always are), please check this place out - you will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! We will be back...again and again and again, until we have tried everything on the menu. And then we will be back AGAIN!!! Not to mention, the service was top notch. The bartender knew his sh*t and told us everything about the menu that we wanted to know, including that everything is scratch made. It's hard to write a review of an experience that was near perfect. As you enter Flashback in Hyannis, you feel as if you are walking back in time. For me it's the remembrance of shuffleboard and the electronic games of yesteryear in the neighborhood bar and the good times that I had there. Flashback is no different. There must be 20 different pinball as well as other machines for one's entertainment. We visited there on a recent trip to Hyannis with a friend suffering from compromised memory. Hoping to awaken some of her childhood memories, we sought out Flashback. Initially greeted by the bartender Alex, we continued our interaction with her all afternoon. She was professional and accommodating in her service to our friend who needed non alcoholic beverages. When the bars limited supply ran out, she was able to obtain a few more bottles to complete the afternoon---all with such a great attitude. We couldn't be more appreciative for the kindness that she showed to our friend. Later we ate and the food was pretty good. The kitchen was efficient and our orders came out in a very reasonable time. At the table, was a large fresh caesar salad with chicken, that was reviewed by our friend as "excellent." We also had some veggie burgers which were accurately described as southwestern. Portions were generous. Oh, and the bathrooms were sparkling clean!
