There is good food and then there is good food combined with incredible customer service. I ordered a 12 piece and some hush puppies for dinner for the family while we were visiting. When the driver arrived they texted me and told me that store was trying to contact me, I immediately though oh boy they are out of something. When I spoke to the store they told me they were closing at 5 due to the storm incoming and they wanted the staff to get home safely. They said they had stopped frying as it was 4:45, he said they had some tenders and chicken left and would it be ok to just send me what they had, I told him absolutely safety for the staff was most important. When we got the order, holy hell. We got probably 20 tenders, 5 pieces of chicken, more than 30 hush puppies, a couple hot wings, 2 banana puddings and 2 pieces of pecan pie. We were the last customers of the night and for being understanding they apparently decided to bury us in delicious chicken. Everything was so tasty, deliciously cooked and well seasoned. I received an advertisement with coupons recently. I hadn't tried Smithfield's yet, so I decided to try it out. The coupons didn't have promo codes so I called ahead before ordering online and talked with an employee to ask if I can order online then get credit for the coupon wgen I picked up the order. The coupons indicated they could not be redeemed for delivery orders, but listed no other restrictions. Long story short, they did not honor the coupon when I arrived. No one could find another solution for the situation. I had a hard time believing there was able to satisfy a new customer. read more

We arrived around 8:30pm after the evening fireworks at Wrightsville Beach. Ordered a Tailgate special of fried chicken and sides. We were disappointed by the oily and dried chicken which had an aftertaste as if fried in shortening oil. Did mentioned the issue with the fried chicken to the cashier but they only said that they are sorry. They did not offer to notify the manager. Need stating again what huge disappointment for us being served fried chicken which has dried meat with an oily exterior crust that is not crispy or crunchy. Smithfield's does fried chicken very well. We ordered the family meal 8 pieces with Brunswick stew and baked beans, we also added fries. It came with hush puppies and sweet tea. The price is very affordable if you have to feed a family and want to stay within budget. The chicken was hot and very flavorful. We also really like their baked beans which are made with their bbq pulled pork. I'm a fan of their potato salad although we didn't get it on this occasion. Hush puppies and fries were fried to perfection. The only thing I could ask for is some additional vegetable side options as well as some Mac n cheese would be really nice too. read more

I done think I've ever been so angry about fast food. I understand we are in the pandemic. I know it's hard out there. I communicate very well and let people know what I want for the beginning. If you don't ha e it just say you don't and I'll go along my way. This not the case here.... I ordered a four piece and a large fry.... I stated that I wanted the chicken to be fresh, if it was hot I would wait for it or just say "we can't do it" Ok instead, the girl lies to the guy at the window starting a snow ball effect. I checked the order ICE ASS COLD. I told them ok, he said "Ok sorry just pull up and we will bring you more. Five min later (it takes 15 to fry chicken) they pop out with a replacement order of chicken and Jesus the grease in the box and the half melted box made me reconsider chicken all together. Soooooooo the moral to the story is this is disgusting chicken and if you want death and horrible service Smithfield's got your back!!! read more

Although only patronizing the drive-thru, it was a WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! Mariana was a sheer delight from the moment we spoke over the intercom regarding my order. She allowed me to pick-up in the drive-thru, not forcing me to come into the dining room. She was not only efficient, but extremely accommodating and a sincere joy to be served by! She was meticulous about getting my order pick-up correct while at the same time maintaining fast service and a high customer service level! As to the FOOD, the chicken although not signature or highly flavorful, was CLASSIC & tasty being very FRESH AND MOIST with GREAT CRUNCHY GOODNESS, making it score HIGH for quality and taste! The 'hush puppies' I think they were labeled, were not the traditional fare; tasting more like doughnuts fried to perfection, so I did not mind the departure as they went VERY WELL with the chicken, setting off the flavor just right! As someone who LOVES KFC coleslaw ( I know, mainstream, but what can I say!), I did not consequently care for the coleslaw, which had a rather herbal, earthy taste, nor did I even try the potato salad, or any other sides they may have had available, so not too sure about that. Exceptional food and service. The location stays quite busy during the expected rush times however, even when busy, the levels of cleanliness, customer service and quality do not appear to waver. I was impressed that during the last visit when my wife ordered the tailgate special, an employee offered to carry it to to the car and place it inside for her as it was two large unwieldy bags. Ordered take out online, the first time ever. Went to pick it up, and the place was empty and my order was in a bag on the counter. When I got home, I realized I didn't get any of the sauces on the order. I called them up on my way back to the store and talked to a woman who asked me what I ordered. I told her I was just there, and could she look it up, since I was driving. She told me she couldn't and kept asking me what I ordered-I told her it was two chicken dinners. She said that there are a lot of orders and that she couldn't tell what I ordered. There was no one in the store, and I had just left 10 minutes before! I arrived back at the store and went to the drive-up window and told them I had just talked to someone about getting my sauces--she said she didn't know anything about it, and she had that "this is your problem, buddy, look on her face." I got my sauces, and asked her name, it as Adriana or something like that. And this was after I first went to pick up my order--I went to the drive up, and they told me I had to come inside the store to pick up my order. Couldn't pass my order through the drive-up window? This crew is not customer friendly. They get the 'tude from the management team, I'm sure. Don't hold your breath for my return...ever. Oh, and the food wasn't very good, either. read more

Our family loves Smithfields! It's not the same BBQ that you get from your backyard, but it's pretty close. And the chicken tenders are some of the best at any fast food spot.
