Their prices are ridiculously high! They want $80 for a $20 dollar pair of Dickie pants. That is insane prices in an insane world! Won't be buying clothes there ever!

Turns out I actually kind of like the Smith's Marketplace in West Jordan. For a brief history lesson, this was the old Fred Meyer before the Fred Meyers became Smith's Marketplaces. Think of it as a "Smith's Food and Drug and Stuff." Truthfully, I'm only so-so about the grocery part of this store. It's a nice location and with all that square footage they've certainly got a wide selection. But refer to my previous rants about the rewards card business model (hint: I hate it). So for me, it' the Marketplace part that is surprisingly alluring to me. For one, they carry some different items that you don't see in every other big box store. It's hit or miss. Sometimes it's straight off the boat from China, but some of their home decor, garden, or housewares stuff if a fresh break from the same-ol' that you see everywhere. Speaking of the garden area, this is my favorite part about this Smith's Marketplace. They simply stock more interesting things than any other store in the area. For a total geek-out, of course you go to a nursery. But nurseries can be big, overwhelming, and understaffed. So the garden section here is an awesome alternative and has a rockin selection of harder to find annuals, lots of unique veggies, tons and tons of herbs, and my absolute favorite selection of small perennials. Unlike most places that only sell these things in a gallon bucket for $15 bucks, these guys stock the small pots and charge $2.50-$4 each. If you've got the patience to plant small, they end up just as big and beautiful. Huge plus. I always stop here in the spring to see what they've got, and at their prices I've bought flats and flats of annuals, perennials, veggies, and herbs. There's a Fred Meyer Jewelers here, a UPS store that shares the building, and I think I saw they have a kiddie-care center where you can dump the kids while you shop. You'd have to verify how that works for sure, I was in a rush to get my concert tickets (this is also a SmithsTix outlet) and didn't ask how the kiddie thing works.

    Rude cashier a d his bagger on 16 .

Very rude man at checkout on isle 16, and Adam his bagger. Don't they speak to anyone anymore? He never even looked at me a d no acknowledgment that I am spending money on his store. Too bad

Horrible customer service. I will never come to this smiths again. All the woman workers are unhappy and very rude. Very disappointed.

I walked through half the store.started out in the grocery section. They have ready to go lunches. Deli sandwiches and salads. I was surprised; had no idea. I liked that. The store was clean, I found a humidifier for baby Atlas. Let's go! Checkout was a breeze. Lines at self serve but two cashier lines were open. The young lady helping me was very helpful, engaging and personable. 5 stars for the customer service. 4 stars for the store. The parents were very happy with their baby gift from Target. This Target is often like this. 12 in self checkout, 9 in the register line, no manager in sight. 7 minutes in line and the line at both checkout and this register is longer, this register's line is almost double. Finally, as I get to my turn (I was 9th when I got in line) a manager finally appears and calls for anyone else who can checker to come up and they open a second line. Not going to stop shopping here, but come on! 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. I bought a few things for a small gift basket that included some of the things I mentioned above. An $8 individual ceramic hot pot type bowl that you can heat directly on your stovetop. It had a beautiful cherry blossom design. I also got a chopsticks set, and bamboo hot pad for setting hot pots or pans on. The cashier was kind enough to open the box for me so I could inspect the hot pots for damage. As other people have mentioned, it's like an Asian version of our dollar tree store, only Daiso prices range from $2.25-$18. It's very organized and clean. They have so much variety from toys, to stationary, gardening items, organizing items, laundry items and so much more. It's definitely worth a visit to browse everything they have to offer.

There's tons of stationary items, lots of small storage, little cooking utensils, makeup brushes and bottles, they even had a section for fishing lures. The reason for knocking the star is that the closest comparison is Dollar Tree but it's more expensive. The cheapest items are $2.25, but they carry some of the same things as Dollar-Fifty-And-Up Tree like the same LA Awesome sprays and LA Looks makeup. Another example, I was admiring a small metal trinket tray that turned out to be $6 but only seemed of Dollar Tree quality. I curious what others think, totally worth a stroll if nothing else.

Most of the time the line isn't bad, but on weekends it can get out of control. It depends on the day, sometimes it seems like there aren't enough employees. I have had some returns to actual customer service lately and it's been fine. I've also used the pick up since the last time I reviewed as well. The pick up option is very nice and when there is just one item you want/need, then you don't waste time or get tricked into looking/buying other things. The store itself can get expensive quite quickly, they often run deals and such that I receive in my email. They're just a Shopko or Walmart with a few more clothes. So sad to see them stoop so low. No more Kohl's for me.
