They're the ultra-soft, buttery, pull-apart-but-not-in-a-flaky-way type biscuits, which I enjoy. The spicy fried chicken was good on its own, but nothing outstanding. The country sausage was good, too. Don't get me wrong--I liked everything I tried. That being said, I didn't find them to be anything that had a "wow" factor, so I am glad I ended up trying multiple items just in case I was underwhelmed. I overheard a local in line talking about their corned beef hash, which he said was not your typical dish straight out of a can and onto the flat top, which, for the record, I have no problem with. But man am I glad I gave it a go. The corned beef comes in large chunks of shredded pieces, clearly taken from a big corned beef brisket and then mixed in and cooked with small diced potatoes. This was my favorite dish, by far. I'd come back just for that. I also tried their cheese grits, which was better than usual at a diner style restaurant. The customer service was awesome, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere in general. Worth noting it backs up quickly. I got there at 9:02, 2 minutes after they opened, and there was already a line at the door. I'll be back with friends for a dish of corned beef hash and grits, and I'll probably get a biscuit on the side just to enjoy on its own or with butter and jam.

I'm a college student and stepping into the restaurant, I really loved the vibe and the look of the lockdown theme with the graffiti on the wall. It is a really cool place to hang out with friends and have a great local meal. My friends had told me about this place and they said that I absolutely had to try it, so they dragged me there today. I would say that I normally do not like BBQ, but Smitty's Lockdown made me find a new found love for it. The meat was so flavorful, tender, and juicy. The sides were filled with flavor and you could taste the freshness of the cold slaw and potato salad. So my friends and I got a platter each which comes with 2 meats and 2 sides. I am trying to go vegetarian and this place has so many vegetarian options which allowed all of us a variety of options available as some of my friends are vegetarian. The food was great and I will definitely be a regular customer here! Also as per speaking with the owner, she had told us that they are working to open their bar up soon. And I cant wait for our next adventure to Lockdown BBQ when the bar opens up. read more

Service is okay, parking is convenient. Their standard BBQ sauce has good flavor. Prices are competitive for BBQ in this area. The brisket was the worst I've ever been served. It was very tough, and nothing at all like brisket cooked by someone who knows what they are doing. More to the point, the meat (without any sauce) lacks any discernable flavor. I can state this as being only my opinion (from 50 years of preparing/cooking/eating BBQ) - this is commercially prepared meat, and is NOT "the real deal BBQ". Honestly, I'd give it 4.5 stars it yelp would let me. Service was great. The Brunswick Stew and Baked Beans were fantastic. The manager recommended the smoked sausage, so i had the sampler with that, the pulled pork and the ribs. The pork was tender and flavorful as were the ribs, the sausage was just amazing. I tried most of the sauces. They have something like 10. The White Alabama and Bacon Bourbon were my favorites. The Banana pudding is amongst the best I've had and very different. A total winner. This privately owned Restaurant puts great barbecue at very reasonable prices in our neighborhood. Not a big place - a few tables if you would Like to eat in. Very nice covered deck that will really be a top attraction as weather permits. Extremely nice service from all the employees. My favorite side is potato salad. Just like mama used to make!!! The meats and sides are fairly standard fare, but the lunch specials are the best bbq deals in the whole metro area. Order at the counter, self-serve beverages, tipping not necessary. The largest selection of sauces I've ever seen, about 8-10 varieties including some interesting, experimental sauces such as Sweet Tea, Bourbon, and Mango Habanero. This BBQ is the one of the best in Cobb County. The slow cook hickory flavor of the ribs are tender and delicious, the mac n cheese is the cheesiest, the collards are just like mommas, and the peach cobbler with the buttery crust taste just like grandma. They're not you're standard side fillers...they could easily stand on their own. The bbq beans are killer and the toast they serve with the plate, man... FWIW my wife and I split the ribs and pulled pork plate and it was the perfect amount of food. Delicious. Highly recommend.

I had the turkey hot pursuit with jalapeños and a nice sauce. Let's not forget about the fries.... they were fresh, crispy and perfectly seasoned. I went back for seconds. The icing on the cake was the great customer service they delivered to our guest. I appreciate how the lady taking orders always came to the window with a nice smile. I highly recommend them and hope to have them at our future events.
