Went there on a Saturday and even though it was busy, they got me in and out with my smog certificate quickly. They were professional and friendly. I have been here twice and would go again. Only minor complaints are that the parking lot is very small, so you don't really know where to park when it's busy, and there is no air conditioning in the waiting room. read more

I found this wonderful business on Yelp and gave it a try, due to the amazing reviews that had already been published. I called ahead and all that I requested to know was provided. I arrived and was greeted and taken care of quickly and efficiently. There was a customer leaving, another one in the waiting room then me. Everything was all signed and done within 15mins or less. The gentleman was even more informative in sharing with me that, I would be able to pay for my registration instantly at a kiosk and low and behold he was right! I drove in on a Wednesday, mid-morning and was greeted as I exited my car. After a brief discussion and verification that a Star test was not needed, my car immediately was taken in to the service bay for the test to begin. I had been here previously, 2 years ago, so they simply typed in my name and less than 10 minutes later I was on my way. A very nice group of employees that are friendly, courteous and professional. Two stars for being nice guys and knowing how to communicate with some professionalism. If you have an older car or one with higher mileage, I highly suggest NOT coming here as they will charge you whether or not your car passes or fails. If it fails, you will have 30 day to back or it is $60 down the drain. I was told by the gentleman here that this is standard practice. However, the smog check stations I've been to in the past made sure my vehicle passed before even asking for the money. I can vaguely recall one station scanned my car for problems and telling me what to fix before he performed the test. This is how it should be done. Being that the check engine light was on when I brought it in, they could have done the same. But wait... if they did, I'd just junk the car instead and never come back. I Call the shop to verify pricing and the owner told me it would 40ish or 50ish, I told him I had a coupon online and he stated it would be 38 for just smog and certificate and 48 if I need a star smog certificate. I needed a regular smog + certificate so I went to the shop, after arriving I handed the owner the paperwork which stated I only needed a smog + certificate and he told me it was going to be $48. I was hesitant to sign because I know I didn't need a star smog so I question him, he was on the phone and kept avoiding my question, so after he was done with the phone call I ask again and then without looking at my paper he said you don't need a star smog so it would only be $38 ( he lie and try to up the charge to a star smog but he was caught). After I wanted to wait by my car all the way in the back dead end of the parking lot which there is no car passing by at all buy he kept telling me to wait in the front near a busy street and where all the car coming into the smog will pass me withing feets, so I stood where my car was and he told me that he would not service my car because I am not in a safe place. Are you stupid? I'm standing in the most safe location and you tell me I'm not after you had try to lie and try to charge me more. He didn't want me standing where my car was because I was able to see inside the shop from that spot, maybe he was trying to do some other scandalous crap and without me able to see. I will not come back to a dishonest business. If you want to get rip off and hassle come here. Wish I would have taken a photo of where my car was and where I was standing. read more

At home I look at the invoice and it says labor - $49.75. Called them and apparently the advertised price is a "coupon price" and I needed to "mention it". This was my first time doing a smog check and came right when they opened at 8:30 and was the first one there. I felt a little lost since I'd never gotten one before, I didn't get his name but the gentleman was very kind and explained how long the process would take. I showed him the coupon I found through their site on Yelp which he honored. He said the process would take about 15 mins but it felt like less! Just some things to be aware of, they don't take appointments it is first come first serve and the shop can easily be missed if you aren't paying attention. Coming in on Xmas eve, was looking for a place open on the holidays since I just got my registration done for my car yesterday. They said I had 2 days to come back with my smog check, and this place is open til 5:30pm in the evening. I also appreciate that the shop is not on a busy road so it's easy to get in and out of the shop. They're responsive by phone. There was a miscommunication with the total price though. On the phone I asked about the $29.75 promotion and was told I would walk away with a certificate under $40, with certificate price included. I ended up having to pay another $10 when I got there for their facility being an official Smog Station that is STAR certified. Arsenio, the main technician there was super nice and friendly. Arsenio knows his stuff and gave me clear directions on how to get my car to pass the smog test. I had just switched out my battery so the data was wiped from my vehicle and it wouldn't pass the smog test. Despite the price grey area, I will come back because Arsenio was helpful and very approachable, and I support local smaller businesses. They do a cool thing to restore old batteries, so you can bring in dead batteries and sell them for $10 (which is more than you might get at another store). You can buy these refurbished batteries which have about 65% charge for maybe $60 rather than $180 and apparently they last a decent amount of time. read more
