Hi-ya! So I guess getting a smog can be challenging because it takes time, and likes can get a little long. I stopped here on Tuesday and it was busy and well...it's hard to predict the ebb and flow of just how busy they are. I went in today and the line was shorter and the staff there was fast. If you are looking for a reasonable price, efficient work--then the reviews that's precede me are accurate. This place is a no fluff, but get in and out smog shop. For my suv it was $45 even out the door with the coupon. The wait was approximately 25 minutes from the moment I stepped inside to when I drove off. Overall decent place. Don't expect the ritz Carlton for the waiting area, but the couches get the job done. read more

I usually dread having to go to appointments for my car, however, this is not one of them. Just left from my 2nd visit here. They are fast and efficient. I was only there for maybe 15 minutes and there were numerous other customers there as well. This is the ONLY place I will take my cars for a smog test. read more

I was able to get in and out right away for a smog check. I called ahead of time and the staff was friendly and helped me out. They are certified through DMV and print out a certificate you can take to AAA right away for tags and send in results to DMV. Definitely will use the again. read more

Really disappointed with the service I got from this shop and being lied too. Don't take your car here.... See full story below. So while I was waiting for the smog test I kept noticing they were moving my car around from one end of the shop to other and I was like that's odd. So I stepped out to the front of the garage to get a closer view and started looking at the computer screen of smog testing equipment where the smog tech was at and could see it wasn't working properly on there end. While standing at the garage one of the smog techs came over and said they had been having problems with their smog equipment data communication that day. So I went back in to the shop and another smog tech came in to talk with the manager about the computer data communication they were having and the manager was like oh I thought we fixed it and the smog tech said it's still giving him problems, these two we're talking amongst each other but I could overhear them .... So then this manager calls me to the desk and states that I have a bad a cigarette lighter which is causing the smog test to fail and that I need fix it to pass smog ???? I said wait a minute your smog tech just told me it was your smog equipment data connection problem and I also overheard you and the other smog tech say the same thing about your shops bad data communication line.... The manager goes on to say no it's your cars cigarette lighter and you need to fix it and then come back for the retest..... So I leave the shop and come home to fix the cigarette lighter issue.... I proceeded with my test light to test the cigarette lighter and it worked, I also plugged in my car phone charger and it worked too! So the next day I called the smog shop to talk with the manager to check to make sure before I bring my car back that there data computer line is fixed..... he continues to go on to say there's not a problem with the computer line and it's my car..... I asked for my money back because at this point he was totally being dishonest..... He said he wouldn't give my money back.... So rather than continue to argue or go back to a dishonest mechanic shop I took my car to a different smog shop and it passed with no issues. Super simple process to get my car Smog checked. Coming from Hawaii I read up on the requirements to get my car registered here in CA and one of the ones I wasn't familiar with was the smog check. Having driven around the area for awhile I saw MANY shady looking places advertising for smog checks - and I didn't trust that situation. I checked Yelp and then drove past Smog Tech Pros and it looked like a professional situation. And it was. Very easy 15 minutes to get my car back with the proper documentation that was provided in paper (since I was registering for the first time) and also provided directly to the DMV. I always hate getting the smog check done and usually leave it to the last minute. I work nearby and did some research on local smog places and saw that Smog Tech has great reviews. I took an early lunch break and was planning on taking a longer break thinking it would take forever. Not the case. I showed up and the technician told me it would take 10 minutes. Not even. On a Saturday morning at 10:30 AM I was sure I was in for a long wait. I went to my closest smog walking station which happened to be smog tech pros off of Folsom in Rancho Cordova.. I walked in and gave them my information. I pre-paid and waited only 30 minutes. Then the Gentleman checked me in (who was very pleasant) came out and said " the lady with a Subaru, your car passed with no problem, your Keys are in the ignition and the certificates on the dashboard."
