Food is really good but the service is atrocious. We had to sit ourselves. Our waitress dropped off two menus and walked away, no greeting or anything. She then dropped off our utensils and kept it moving. Not once during our meal were we asked if we needed anything or if we were ok. I will say this. The staff is overwhelmed. This place is packed and there are only two servers. On top of waiting on customers they are running back and forth to answer a phone that never stopped ringing from the time I walked in. I've never thought to come to this restaurant until my sister suggested we come here this past Thursday evening. We arrived at around 6:30pm and the restaurant had a few people in there. The hostess was friendly and greeted us right away. We asked for take out and the hostess took our orders as well as give us suggestions and recommendations on what we should eat. My sister ordered the chicken wings and waffles. I ordered the BBQ short beef rib platter (half slab), it came with corn on the cob, cornbread, and a choice of two sides. I got french fries and the macaroni and cheese as my sides. The food came out pretty quickly. We waited like 10 minutes for it, awesome! The food was pretty average, nothing to like rave about. The macaroni and cheese was okay. I wish it was more of a baked macaroni and cheese, corn on the cob wasn't sweet but it was edible, the cornbread wasn't good at all. It was dry and tasteless. I liked the french fries. Now for the ribs, I was expecting so much more from them since this place specializes in them but I was kinda disappointed. The ribs were dry and was tasteless. I really wish there was more BBQ sauce on them. The ribs however were cooked well and the texture was easy to get through. I stopped to get a nice soul food meal to bring home upstate. Well...the macaroni and w cheese was like a box of kraft Mac and cheese but they baked it in the oven not tasty at all...not a good choice..the yams or sweet potatoes were smashed , seasoning not that great, the chicken not smoked no taste of smoke at all and very bland. Ok food, not the best BBQ I have had but not terrible either. The place inside is comfy a decent amount of parking in a residential area. Other than that its a very average place. Found this gem on Yelp. Called in and ordered a feast order and when it got picked up, it was nicely packed. Fast forward, once the lid came off the pan, you could smell the sweet BBQ sauce. The chicken, ribs and pull pork looked scrumptious. I wish I wasn't so damn greedy because I forgot to take a picture. Because that's the society we live in. I reverted back to a time where good food was devoured and a picture of the meal was only in your memory. Fast forward, everything was yummy. I just left the bbq Pitt 4/7/18. Our server was Eva. I am writing because of the service or lack there was of timely service that myself and my wife received. We we're seated quickly, but then we waited well over 15 minutes before a wait person acknowledged us and came to the table, and then when she did come she was not pleasant she had a scowl on her face and said that she be back shortly, well after another 10 min she came back still unpleasant an took our order. We ordered the feast ll. After the drink we ordered came, we waited a long while for the meal. One of the plates was dirty that she brought to us with the meal, and she acted like it was a chore to get a replacement, and even that took over 5 minutes. Once the meal came not once did she come by and check on us or to see if we needed anything else. We had to ask the table clearer for to go plates, and the check. She brought the to go plates and we still waited over 15 minutes For the bill to come but funny Eva brought the receipt back quickly for me to sign. Wow, we were looking for a nice sit down restaurant and looked at a few other place and the others looked dark, a little shady, until we found this BBQ pit restaurant. The service was amazing, they had a two for one bee special and service was flawless. I grade service on how long my empty water sits before someone realizes that they need to come and refill it and this place was lightening fast. The food was mouthwatering. I remember coming her when my Car broke down in front if this place. My mechanic's Shop was 2 miles away. While waiting for a Tow I decided to stop in and order food. At the time I ordered Beef Ribs which was MASSIVE like one of the Flintstones Dinosaurs Ribs along with Mac and Cheese and Slaw. Tasty food and fast service. Would give it higher stars if the owners would invest in customer service training for its hostesses and servers. The hostess pouts like she was placed on punishment, and really doesn't greet customers with positive energy. The servers can become a little impatient if they are called to the table more than once during the course of a visit, and usually don't come back to the table to check on diners after they bring the ordered dishes. Food is ok; However, wait staff is completely ill trained and the few times that I've been here they moved us from one table to another table. Why seat 3 people in the area where a large group would sit if they came when there were booths available. Lo and behold, a large group came in and hence we were moved to an available booth. I got a an order special of chicken/rib combo for 4 which was suggested to me by owner. I was very disappointed when the side that it came with were only enough for 2. Was especially pissed off because I had specifically asked if it would be enough for four people and he told me yes. My order was to go and he got upset with me for bringing it to his attention while I checked my order before leaving. It was like pulling teeth to get him to compensate the order. Service was good. Place was clean. But for what I spent on 2 entrees ($60) the portions were small and not very tasty. The brisket was very fatty. Half of it was all fat. Mac and cheese was dry. Ribs were overcooked. Like they had been reheated. About the best thing was the greens. I received a large mound of big chunks of chicken in the bbq sauce. The sauce is really balanced for what I was eating it with. I have to admit though, that the collard greens were my FAVORITE thing on my plate. I love greens and these were probably some of the best I've had in a really long time. They had the perfect balance of sour and salty. I would have made a meal just out of the greens if I could.
