Note: My husband wrote this review which I posted under my Yelp account. This place has very fine BBQ. My husband and I have been here twice so far and we tried the brisket and pulled pork. The next time we go I will try the Pork Steak and my husband the ribs. We can't wait. One thing: the inside is chock full of "antique" stuff, like old minnow buckets, signs for extinct brands of soft drinks and car license plates. I've been wanting to try this place for about a year. I finally got to try it tonight. It was DELICIOUS! Our family of 4 had ribs, turkey breast, brisket and pulled pork. Everyone has wonderful food. The Texas Potatoes were so good and the carrots were like candy. The carrot cake was massive and so good! I highly recommend this place and can't wait to return. read more

Pretty disappointed today. Stopped by for lunch at noon and we were the only people in the restaurant the entire time. Had pork and brisket and both were cold along with the piece of cheesy bread that was stale and chewy. The potato casserole was very bland and took both salt and pepper to make it even taste. Tried all the sauces and in all honesty with a couple of exceptions much like any other institutional bbq sauce. The bright spot is that the broccoli casserole was hot and well seasoned. I wish it had been better but for $35 for lunch for 2 it was very disappointing. read more

Smokee Mo's does not disappoint. We ordered take out because we were traveling with tired kids. We ordered the mangie brisket. A tender Smokey brisket on garlic bread. We all loved it. Excellent bbq. I had the reg sized two meat platter which has two sides and garlic toast. Loved the pulled pork. Tender, great flavor and sauces (I had Traditional (sweet) and Carolina (vinegar and pepper) and both were delish combined. The brisket was also good but liked the pork better. Lots of sides to choose from. Twice baked potato was delish! I went all carbs and had the mac and cheese which was good as well. I ordered mine to pick up. They said pick up in 10 min. I was later than that. Everyone was super nice and my meal was still hot when I was ready to eat. Reasonably priced and you get a lot of food. Definitely recommend! read more

When we are visiting family in South County or Arnold and need dinner we drop by Smokee Mo's. I usually get the Mangia Bene sandwich and the twice baked potato. My boyfriend changes it up every time and we end up sharing both dinners. Food: Okay Service: Terrible There is better BBQ in St. Louis (Bogart's, Sugarfire, Pappy's, etc.). We ordered an order of Nachos and Pulled Pork. Nacho chips were almost stale, they forgot the sour cream-- even though we were assured it was in the to-go bag. Pork was okay. We only found the white sauce and sweet sauce to be palatable. Another great BBQ place! I had the Mangia Bene. Brisket sandwich on their homemade cheesy garlic bread. Great sandwich but it could be a little cheesier. The brisket was nice and tender and I came with their white sauce on it but, I added the Hot which has habanero. It really wasn't that hot. The BBQ is awesome but the sides (I had potato salad) were a little plain. It's a really good joint and I will be back! read more

Saw a sign on i55 just south of st.louis....i had left Memphis n wanted more ribs for home...left Memphis n forgot to get ribs....southern bbq is special n I would go as far as st. Louis n still call it southern bbq...well this off the hgwy spot is solid choice. Excellent bbq. Tender smoked chicken. Tasty turkey jerky. We drive past a ton of BBQ placed to get to Mo's, and the food is amazing. The Pastrami sandwich (mostrami) is just awesome, and it is evident from talking to the owners and talking to the chef the love that they have for this place. This is THE place I take people for GREAT BBQ in St. Louis. These people have a lot of pride in a great product, and I can't wait to see what they produce next. I had catering delivered for over 50 people in lent and they went "off the menu" for some fish and vegan veg dishes that were a huge hit! Give these people a chance! Don't come here if you're not really hungry. You are gonna get fed. The portions are huge and the price isn't bad. The meat is so tender. You don't really need a knife for the ribs.. The staff is amazing. Get the broccoli casserole. read more

This was the first time here so I have no basis for comparison. That being said, for the prices being charged, Smokee MO's needs to step up their game to compare with other BBQ restaurants in the STL area. The brisket was dry and lacked any smoke flavor which made for a less than stellar Mangia Benne which I had heard so many raves about. The child's brisket sandwich was the size of a White Castle burger!! My burnt ends weren't even burts ends. They were large chunks of the regular flat brisket dunked in au jus and not from the fattier point where it should come from. As for the sides, we were told they were out of mac n cheese so settled for fries that were served cold. But three customers later were all served mac n cheese. The guys working behind the counter seemed to be really in the weeds almost to the point that we were disturbing them by patronizing the place. This place really needs to take a step back and get their quality control in order. I will give this place another try but not anytime soon. Not with the selection of much better BBQ in the area!! read more

Just an ok Bar-B-Que joint. Really there are so many good places that I'd suggest trying one of those. Had the rib and pulled pork plate. Pulled pork was a dry that the sauce couldn't hide and the bun had been grilled before I even ordered. The ribs were ok but lacked the great flavor of Mo BBQ. read more

Very friendly staff I ordered the brisket my wife got ribs brisket was ok nothing special about it the rubs were real chewy not the meat falling off the bone you'd hope for. As far as the sides the potatoes were real good the beans had a little kick you them the Mac and cheese tasted like it was a few days old reheated. Overall for the price I doubt we'll be back. Guess we'll keep driving to city for our bbq read more

I loved this place!!! I am always on yelp looking for new bbq joints because I love the see the different types. Sugarfire in Farmington has been my favorite until my husband and I tried Smokee Mo's. This is to best bbq I have found around. Portions are great and the sauce and sides were amazing. The staff is super friendly. A must try if you haven't been. Stopped in for lunch today with a classmate today. I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. My friend ordered brisket meat with a twice baked potato. The brisket was very good and plentiful for the price. The Mac and cheese was one of the better ones I've eaten. My friend said his brisket meat was juicy and tender. He spoke about his twice backed potato as being very good and flavorful. The place was clean and the staff was very friendly. They gave us a military discount, which was very nice of this establishment. I don't think you can go wrong with this place. I'll be back when I'm town. read more

My husband and I have eaten at Smokee Mo's about 5 times now. We have been out-of-town a lot lately and I have ordered pulled pork from other restaurants and it wasn't tasting so good. I was beginning to think there was something wrong with my tastebuds. We went back to Smokee Mo's last night and it turns out, my tastebuds are just fine. By other reviews went in expecting much better. We went on Saturday and their special was Pork Burnt Ends which I decided to try...bad mistake to say the least. The meat I was served seemed to be more of chunked up pork loin than actual end pieces one would expect. Out of my whole serving I saw 3-4 actual end pieces which were nowhere near what normal burnt ends are, also it was dipped out of a vat that it had been sitting in soaking in juices which was another unexpected. It was overly salty with an odd sweet flavor. Needless to say it wasn't worth the "special" price of $14.99 for it mashed potatoes and 1 side which I chose as a twice baked potato. My wife order pulled pork which was "OK" along with baked beans (not good either). Both entrees came with garlic cheese bread which along with the twice baked potato were the only items really worth eating. Sad to say this was not worth the money spent, also to give you and idea of how much it was liked neither my wife or I finished half our meal and ended up going down the street to Rally's to get a meal worth eating! read more
