Customer service. Was seated promptly. The restaurant was not crowded at all. Maybe 7 or 8 tables occupied. Waited 15 minutes and no waiter's or waitresses. Is it because he really doesn't care about one man's opinion simply because they do have awesome food and they are jammed up busy all the time and he makes tons of money? My family and I visited The Local House, and I didn't have super high expectations. We were all pleasantly surprised though with all of us having really good food. We each ordered different burgers so that's all I can speak on, but we all had great burgers and would highly recommend them. I had the pretzel burger and loved it-flavors were really well balanced. Love the new location, so much more seating! Comfy, casual, and even crowded we were greeted right away and added to the wait list. It wasn't a terrible wait and thankful for places to sit while we waited. The waitress was friendly, on point with greetings, drinks and knowledgeable about the menu. If you want to try the Local House but are intimidated by the wait in the evening, try lunch! The regular menu is available and plus they have a few lunch specials. I have had the Spicy Chicken sandwich without cheese (I am picky about cheese!) with tater tots. Love tater tots and they are really good dipped in the spicy sauce and ranch. The sandwich is my go to for lunch. I have also had a lunch special of wings and salad, also a good choice. Service is always friendly and quick. Great place to meet with a friend for lunch. Ate at The Local House Restaurant on a Saturday evening with three other people. It's a busy place! I ordered the French Dip (thinly sliced sirloin dipped in our au jus gravy, served on garlic toasted French bread then topped with provel cheese) with French Fries on the side. My dinner dates ordered a steak, a pizza, and fried fish. The sandwich was pretty good but my big complaint is the meat to bread ratio was off in favor of bread. It needed either bread that isn't as tall or more meat on that bread. The flavors were there though. The French Fries were good. The "au jus" on the side looked more like some sort of premade brown gravy than au jus. We all enjoyed and the service was decent. I don't get to Arnold a lot but I'd go back. read more

The Local House was one of the first places we ate when we moved to Oakville and we keep going back. The food is very well prepared, the portions are more than ample, and they have clearly put a lot of thought into making their recipes stand out. One example is the marinara on the spaghetti and the chicken Parmesan pasta and also served with the toasted ravioli. It's not just some basic red sauce. It's a thick and savory concoction exploding with tomato and garlic flavor. Every dish I've tried has similarly impressed and surprised me! If you haven't visited Local House recently, the new location on Michigan Ave is a far better match for the skill of the kitchen and waitstaff. Always before, I felt like I was being served A list food in a strip mall diner. While I love a good strip mall diner, the ambiance of the new building is far better suited to the overall experience. Local House is the definition of quality and in the new location, they're raising the bar on casual dining. read more

The restaurant is set up as a sports bar with a small outside patio. We actually went just for the patio. It was nice night and wanted to eat outside. We can't find many spots in South County with outdoor seating. The service was great. We had the Strawberry Jalapeño Margaritas which will probably never get again. It just wasn't what we thought it was, it was really spicy and did not hit the spot. Our own fault. The food was Excellent. I had the Pretzel Burger with Tator Tots and queso to dunk them in. The Pretzel Burger was the just right combo of fried onion and jalapeño with queso. My wife ordered the French dip and Tator Tots. The beef on the French dip was nice and tender. Went there on a Saturday with my two adult daughters and three children 13,14,5 . We arrived there at the 11:30- 11:46 we were sat in the area over to the right ) i assume this is where you reserve for parties). At 12:45 we were told there was a party and we needed to go. After being invaded by 20 people. We spent $100 on one check and over $88.00 on another. This is the 2nd time weve been rushed . I would not ever go back or recommend this place. I highly recommend to the manager and owners don't put patrons in an area that you're having a party within 60 minutes of sitting seven people down. The food wasn't that great either. Disrespectful establishment. We've supported this place for years at the other location, don't let your new space go to your head, it can get less business very quickly. We LOVED this place and came here very frequently, but after our experience today we refuse to recommend it to anyone. The wait is absolutely ridiculous. It was my husbands birthday and we called ahead noting we had a larger party (8) to just be courteous about our arrival. We were told no to any sort of reservation or being added to the waitlist and was told to show up 30 minutes early to take on most of the wait before our party arrived. We get there 30 minutes early as instructed and are told ITS AN HOUR AND A HALF WAIT. The worst part is there is absolutely no room for anyone to wait and it's crowded beyond belief. We went for dinner last night and waited about 10 minutes for a table. Once, seated we the waitress took our drink order but took awhile to take our food order. We were seated before 6 p.m. and wanted to order the Early Dine Specials but was told we couldn't due the time. I understand that you were busy but it should have been honored as we were seated prior to 6 p.m. It took us about 2 hours from start to finish to get our meal. The food was good but could have been a bit less salty. We will not be coming back due to this experience we had over dinner. There were not enough waitresses to handle the amount of people in the restaurant. We were told the food was delayed due to a mix up in the kitchen. Was hoping for a better place to go south, a mixed review. Got the 12 inch pizza, just cheese, all provel, gooey and burnt on top.
