A quick stop for gas lead to trying a new bbq spot. I didn't get a chance to get pics of the interior but the solace looks well kept. The menu is pretty straight forward and reasonably priced. I ordered the chicken with mac and green beans. Everything was appealing but I must admit the green beans are very well seasoned so be careful. For $12 I was pleasantly satisfied with the food. A hidden gem is an understatement! We were fortunate enough to get the last rack of beef ribs, and all I can say is WOW! We also shared mustard, greens, fried okra, jambalaya, rice, and sausage. My personal favorite was the sausage and fried okra. Service was quick and everything perfectly cooked! This time I tried the mac & cheese and it was absolutely fabulous. The brisket is probably the best I've ever had, the ribs are very good, and I'm not much of a sausage guy but their jalapeño cheddar sausage is one to write home about. And I did. My better half loves the smoked sausage and this is definitely in place. The dining room is clean and well organized, the staff could not be any better. So after my third time try Smokeroom I decided to leave a review .Great customer service , always quick to answer th phone and friendly . Now Starting with the bar b que, it is amazing. I've had the rib sandwich and it always juicy and cooked to perfection, the sauce is good as well, Sweet and smoky. I've also had the potato salad which was tasty. The reason for the 4 star review is I finally decided to try their sweets I got the carrot cake which was a nice slice for about 6 bucks . It looked really good, well looks can be deceiving. This was one of the nastiest cakes I have ever tasted. The frosting tasted like old oil I don't even know how to explain it. I'm not sure if the cakes are old or what , but gross . I don't want to be unfair here but I'm going with 3 stars. I ordered Smokeroom from UberEats. They had a BOGO on their sandwiches which was cool. Got two brisket, one jalapeño sausage and one Turkey. The sausage was the winner ... but that's not really want I'm looking to be the best at a BBQ place if you know what I mean. The brisket wasn't bad. One sandwich was reallllly fatty. Not saying I wanted the "lean" version if they have that. More like the person cutting missed some bits that usually get cut off and put to the side because there were some huge chunks of fat with no meat to be seen. (In addition to meat). The second brisket sandwich was fine; although the slices weren't very consistent in thickness. Flavor was pretty decent. I guess this is going best to worst because the two things that were kinda gross. The buns were buttered or oiled to be grilled (Awesome right?) but they didn't stay on the grill long enough (on all 4). The bottom side had a little color but the top half was just a grease logged bun... would have been great if it was a little grilled or toasted or whatever. And the bread was super tasty. Totally had potential, might have been a fluke. The Turkey was my biggest issue. How do you mess up smoked Turkey right? Or maybe it's easy. I don't know. It was rubbery visually and the texture wasn't like meat. It was almost like that sliced deli meat where a bunch of breasts are molded together and compressed to make something sliceable. Like I kinda think that's what it was because there were air holes in the meat... and it didn't have the normal texture of Turkey breast at all. I'm used to places that actually have individual single smoked Turkey breasts they slice. I really don't know what this was. read more

Pork sausage was flavorful (though a little on the dry side). The pulled pork was amazing, tender and delicious. The ribs were a little sweet and a little spicy with nice bark. They were some of the meatiest pork ribs I've had. The greens are made from an old-school recipe and did not disappoint, and the sweet potatoes were tasty and not too sweet. I'm a lifelong Texas native, born in San Antonio, spent a lot of time on a beef farm in East Texas, lived in Dallas for a decade or two & have been here in Houston for the last 20 years...long story short: I've eaten a lot of Texas barbeque. I'm a Houston native (who also has a lot of family in Louisiana) so I know good food. I haven't lived here in many years but returned to town to make arrangements related to a death in the family. Long story short, I needed last minute to figure out food for an after service gathering and found Smokeroom BBQ (via EZCater). I ordered 20 meals with hardly a day to spare PRAYING that: Smokeroom could fill the order and that the food would have flavor and be tasty to a bunch of folks from TX and LA who also know good food when they eat it. I had to go to bed not knowing if the order would be fulfilled and whether it would be good. The food arrived on time (and even a little bit early...but perfect timing). Suffice to say, I was more than pleased!! I lat all my guests eat first (to ensure there was enough and to host). When I thankfully and hungrily sat down to my own plate, I was more than pleasantly surprised. I only got to try the smoked chicken (by then the mixed meat plates were gobbled up), but it was well worth the wait and yummy to a woman who comes from a tradition of cooking (and smoking meat). All the sides were super good as well (greens, green beans, Mac and cheese). Highly recommend this place and also SUPER GRATEFUL for the speedy fulfillment of my order and terrific and on time service. Catered in lunch for 20 employees via easycater.com. We wer already quite nervous as our last two experiences ordering from other restaurants on easycater.com were not good. Its sometimes very hard with BBQ to judge the appropriate quantity to order. The menu was very straightforward, and the quantities were easy to understand. We were delighted when the food arrived a few minutes early. We were even more pleased when we realized that an employee from Smokerooom BBQ was the delivery person as opposed to a third party delivery service. Everything was packaged up neatly and the delivery person had a wagon to bring the items in. He even helped set up the table for the event, provided menus and serving utensils. The taste of all of the food was top notch - truly better than we expected. The cold food arrived cold and the hot food arrived hot. The ribs were incredible as was the chicken. I meant to this after I order through Uber Eats. I will say the food is really good. What really earns this place 5 Stars is the customer service. As I said I ordered through Uber Eats. Waited almost an hour for the food gets here and when it does, only one of the three bags arrive. Evidently the driver only grabbed one bag and didn't bother to check for the whole order. So I called Uber Eats and the driver and was told "sorry". So I called the restaurant and informed them of what happened. Macaroni bland and all the meat was kinda tough I'm used to fall off the bone BBQ and this was not that. I ordered a chop beef baked potato and there were little hard bits within the chopped beef. The potato was kind of on the small side for the price. I ordered the pork rib dinner and my son loves ribs it's his favorite and he was underwhelmed. I also got the chicken dinner or plate and the most seasoning was on the skin and the white meat pieces were dry and tough. I spent 60.00 tip included for mediocre BBQ. This is one of the few places that will smoke your beef brisket and St. Louis pork ribs for a get together. Great BBQ is an all day and overnight process so you will need to plan ahead and book arrangements at least two days in advance. It smelled divine and looked beautiful with the bark. The surgeon who was entertaining other doctors said it was "perfect". Smoking is an art and skillset that needs years of experience and The Smokeroom BBQ has perfected it.
