The dining room is large and very clean. Prices were good. My family and I ordered several different means and sides. These brisket had a good smoke ring and nice lite flavor. Personally I like the sausage the best. My daughter thought the ribs had a really nice flavor and were tender. She also thought the fried okra was some of the best she had eaten. The brisket was tender, moist, and juicy. My son ordered the chopped beef sandwich combo with fries and it was loaded with chopped beef. They were very generous with it. The BBQ chicken, pulled pork, loaded baked potato, BBQ wings, and fried catfish were all equally delicious! This place does not miss a beat. The cornbread was huge and sweet like a piece of cake and the sides were splendid as well. The collard greens are full of flavor, the fried okra tastes like fresh okra and not frozen and is fried to perfection, the Mac and cheese is cheesy deliciousness done just right not watery and loose but a semi-thick cheesy sauce, the BBQ beans were flavorful but a little on the cold side, and the fries are seasoned well, not too salty but just right. So the only complaint from one of my family members is that her beans were served cold instead of hot and my daughter complained that her BBQ chicken was served cold as well. Other than those two small fumbles, everything was perfect! Oh and their BBQ sauce is absolutely delicious! However, I have to take away one star from my previous rating, because it's absolutely imperative that cooked foods are served at the correct temperatures to keep customers from getting sick. Service was great! Our main server was Raya and she was amazing. Her personality was cheerful, friendly, and welcoming! She took care of all of our needs and brought our food out to us with help from some of the other staff members. We were seated in their private party room area which was extremely spacious and clean! I highly recommend this establishment to anyone who is looking for some good 'ol Down-South Texas BBQ! I had been passing this place by for years but after having someone suggest and eating at another location earlier in the week, I had to hit one up closer to home, with hopes of the food being just as good. It was indeed good. Stop in or order out, as I noticed many people doing that Monday night. The service was friendly despite, the fact we walked in about 45 mins til closing and the place was already empty. Not sure if it was just a slow night or what. It's a sleeper hit! The place was super clean. Considering the tasty food I was shocked the place was nearly empty (but it was 2 PM already). The creamed corn is like casserole type, and savory. It was very tasty! The Mac and cheese is very cheesy. Almost soupy, but tastes good! The mashed sweet potatoes are delicious! But of course I would've loved more marshmallows. The ribs were good and had good burnt pieces to it too. The pickles and onions were just right. Each plate comes with a piece of bread. The TBH platter comes with a piece of cornbread, 3 meats, and 3 sides. I prefer sweet cornbread and this was sweet, but not overly sweet! It was really good. And one part had a nice crusty bit to it. I don't usually like cornbread but I like this one! Not dry. Just moist enough. Had good bite to it, and a nice little crust. The chicken plate is very good. It's grilled and juicy. The ribs are good, just meaty enough. The sausage has good flavor. The bbq sauce is a little sweet, a little tangy, and just enough. The potato salad was good as well. I think it has a little bit of mustard. The brisket had a nice crust on top. Nice slim edge of fat to the meat, not too fatty. Just right. Finally, we did get a piece of Tres Leches and it was sufficiently moist! Tasted decent! Not like a Kroger tres leches (never had a good one from there). The brisket plate was good - 2 meat choices I think, but no sides. Comes with half an onion! The rib plate comes with 2 sides. I used to always pass this place finally decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did! It is very good BBQ. It's great if you want to grab a quick bite for lunch/dinner. The food overall is good. The ribs fall off the bone, the brisket is not dry, sausage nicely smoked. The sauce I could drink it honestly. I love that it is not a super sweet bbq sauce it's got that vinegar taste and it really compliments the meat. The sides are a pick and choose thing the potato salad not so great but the other side was was good. The prices are just wonderful most places will charge you and arm and a leg for bbq but this place is absolutely worth it. I ordered from the charming young lady behind the counter and took a seat. The food was on the table in 5 minutes. Courteous service. I ordered the 3 meat plate with coleslaw and collard greens. The fatty brisket was deliciously smokey but not overly so. It may be too fatty for some, but it was perfect for me. The sausage was cooked nicely with a crispy casing. It's meat was juicy and not overcooked. The ribs... Well, they were a little bland for me. They were juicy and tender. I did not use the BBQ sauce on the meats, just some pickles, and onions. So my experience is based on the meats alone. The BBQ sauces were either sweet or mildly spice. Nice, but not needed for the meats. All in all, it was a great walk from my cardio stress test... If I were to give them a recommendation, I would say to turn up the music put some music on the stage create dance floor and have three dollar beers on Friday night. Fill up the joint get people inside make it feel exciting instead of empty. The space is really big and it's pretty empty. You may need to close off parts of the restaurant to make it feel cozier and add decor. Not sure if they have brisket mac & cheese or not but they should also, when people come into the restaurant, greet them with a smile and say hey glad you're here, thanks for coming in today. The person that was at the register last night was order taker... had no personality. They could say things like "have you tried our fried pickles" or "would you like a side of mac & cheese with your sandwich?"...upsell, upsell, upsell! The bbq here is on point!!! I ordered the 3 meat entree with pork ribs, chicken and jalapeño sausage. All of them were well flavored and the chicken was cooked to perfection. Brisket was perfectly tender and the ribs fell off the bone. The sides collard greens were delicious. YUMMY.
