Service is decent but Un reliable to if they are going to be open and closed at the ACTUAL closing time it's been several times I've called to make sure they were open and taking orders then get there and someone says they're no longer open and the closing time magically changes according to the bartender. Horrible...my first time ever visiting the restaurant..The waitstaff was GREAT..but the manager was AWFUL ..her name was Whitney..poor poor manager..First of all me and my fiancé were dining out together.my plate was given to me first..then his arrived second..not together mind you..when it comes the meat looked horrible..it was supposed to be a 1/4. chicken..they gave him 2 leg quarters..nope..no sir..plate got sent bk..second time around he is given a boneless chicken breast...the sides were bigger than the chicken..waitress ...can you get manager... I love the twisted timber and they have amazing pulled pork, but it's just way too basic, and too chain for me They offered collard greens, which was new, never had them but they were ok. There were maybe 8 tables with guests seated, and an empty waiting area when we arrived. After waiting a few minutes, being continuously passed by Smokey Bones staff, a waiter with both hands full of drinks offered to seat us. We waited at the table for over 10 minutes with no further contact from staff. We tried to use the automated paying system on the table to order drinks or call a server, with no answer. Luckily, this location is surrounded by other restaurants willing to serve meals to paying guests. read more

They changed the menu was is now a disaster (poor move ) They raised the prices and you get a half of what you use to get. I can't remember what my hubby ordered, all I remember is i had the best wings I've had in town up to now. The service was very friendly and courteous, the decor is pretty funny (the have a bunch of random sayings/quotes/jokes) and the food was great. The place looked like it was quite busy, on a Saturday afternoon and almost all the tables were full but even so, the service never lacked. My wings were a combination of two flavors and they were both delicious, I didn't even used the blue cheese because i felt that it would be a disrespect and would have ruined the flavors. The chutzpah on the franchisee who decided that in a town littered with great local barbecue places there ought to be a full service chain barbecue restaurant. Or maybe not, because I ate there. I ate there, though, largely because it's the only place in town serving food at 2:00 in the morning. Perhaps literally, if you don't consider Waffle Houses and Huddle Houses to be proper restaurants. As for the food, it was about what I expected. The specialty salad was a surprisingly large bowl of spinach, greens, jarred asparagus and, oddly, hearts of palm, along with some celery, carrots, and cherry tomatoes. Not great, but I got it for $2, and it was certainly a healthier option than the things to come. More interesting than the boring house salad, anyway. Barbecue was average, and regardless of that eleven hours the meat spent in the smoker, it hadn't seen it in quite a while. Good thing there are a quartet of sauces to keep things interesting. They did a reasonable job of replicating KC- and Texas-style sauces, but their mustard sauce had a big hit of sugar, which I found off-putting. The fresh broccoli was better than it needed to be, and the onion rings were big and crispy. Beats the heck out of smothered greasy hashbrowns in the twilight hours of the morning. read more

Food was mediocre at best. Grilled cheese brisket cold and dry. Three tables got their food at the same time so it seems there was a backlog in the kitchen. I will break this review down into three sections. Good, fair and bad. Good - Service, atmosphere, fries and the pulled pork. Fair - Chicken tenders had a good taste but were overcooked, price was OK for the food you get. Bad - The BBQ Corn was not good at all, grilled chicken had no flavor, and the brisket was to tough to eat. My wife and I ate here for lunch for about $30. My 'tween' and 'teen' aged daughters and I had lunch at Smokey Bones three weeks ago. We were told about the specials as we were being seated - a full rack of ribs for the price of a half-rack - so we decided to order that as well as pork tenderloin. The food was very good, however, it was too spicy hot. Since I opted for the brown sugar glaze, we mistakenly thought it would be mild, but it was so spicy that my youngest daughter couldn't eat it and I needed (but didn't get) a refill of sweet tea. The service was okay but I would have liked a refill on my tea before having the bill presented to me. (My older daughter got a refill without asking, so she shared some with me.) It was also very cold inside. Considering the numerous restaurants in the immediate vicinity, this one will be at the bottom in our list of preferences in the future. read more

Smokey BONES!!!! consistently great food, well deserving of 4 stars. I can barely count a handful of times where the quality of some food has been"....MEH, Decent". However, even then it was, it's still a plate cleaning meal. I'm a huge fan of the "Pick 2 favorites". Between the pork/chicken/sausage/wings...etc, you cant go wrong and more importantly, it keeps well and tastes great the next day. If your a first timer, get the pulled pork... YES PLEASE!! the ONLY thing I'm not a fan of is that the beef brisket is only available after 4pm....its worth the wait it just sucks that I don't have total store access hours to this SCRUMPTIOUS meat! It's worth the wait. I have never had ANY issue with the staff here. from the bar staff to the table staff, all are friendly and knowledgeable bouts the menu. What i think is important is they will give HONEST recommendations. As a customer, i not only appreciate that, it also makes me want to come back and trust the staffs recommendations when they up-sell an app/dessert. Why i didnt give 5 stars? to get the 5 in my book you have to be dynamic with your menu (consistent special menu items). They had a prime rib that was....YUM-0...then its gone. I had the pleasure of eating at Smokey Bones on 1/29/14. One of only two restaurants open during the ice storm. They offered a full menu to a restaurant completely packed with patrons. I watched four (yes, only 4) workers run this restaurant efficiently. I was serviced as quickly as possible and had 2 delicious meals (lunch and a takeout dinner) of the pulled pork sandwich, salad, and beef brisket baked potato. The staff: Erin Gray (bar), Terence Moore (manager), Bradley (cook), and Erik (cook) provided excellent service while performing multiple jobs and putting up with difficult patrons upset that they were stranded during the ice storm. Smokey Bones will now become my restaurant of choice whenever I am in Columbus on business. read more

Also, they watered down their alcoholic drinks (like I mean, they tasted like water). Plus it took us about 30 minutes to get our drinks. The ONLY good part of the meal was when the food got there, which by then everyone was starving but the food we had was delicious. My husband and I got the smoked wings and they were great!
