Could not disagree with the 5 stars any more. I hear that Smokey Bones is hit or miss but for me it's been nothing but misses and airballs. There pretzel appetizer is the highlight of the menu while their ribs, chicken, and anything else bbq related is absolutely horrible. The meat is hard as a rock, does not fall off the bone, and tastes like junk. Probably the worst bbq chain and food I have ever had to be honest. If your corporate Smokey Bones people reading this take note and change your menu or something because this food is so bad. read more

We have tried this location twice and the food was bad both times. The smoked turkey was so dry i could not finish it. My daughter would not eat her food said it was " discussing ". I usually dont leave bad reviews, but this is to try to help you from wasting your money here. read more

I am a regular customer at Smokey Bones and LOVE the service we receive from KELLY...who just happens to be the best service I ever had at any restaurant anywhere. Food is food, but to me...SERVICE is the main ingredient of any good establishment. KELLY always provides consistent excellent customer service. (8/26/2017) Got a coupon in the mail for $10 (and they sent another for later and one for take-out). The place is directly across from Fashion Square Mall. Looked to be weirdly, groups meeting for dinner, frazzled moms shepherding little league teams, lone travelers. Smokey Bones was once part of the Darden restaurant group, but was cast off and started a new as its own chain. Got a Pick Your Own Combo with three: Smoked Beef Brisket, Slow-Smoked Spiced Sausage, and House Smoked Hand-Pulled Pork with BBQ Baked Beans and Mashed Potatoes and another combo with 1/3 rack Baby Back Ribs and Smoked Wings, also with BBQ Baked Beans, and Natural Cut Fries. Not sure we really got good smoke flavor out of most of these smoked meats, most tasted the rubs, lots of cumin in the ribs and lots of celery seed (Lawry's season salt?) on the wings. I usually go for the flats (wingettes), but these were all disappointingly drumettes and super dry. Sauces were a nod to the American regions, but all pretty middle of the road (KC, South Carolina mustard-based, Eastern Carolina vinegar-based, but not really, Chipotle BBQ, looking towards the southwest, I suppose). One thing I do love about southern American is the abundance of sugar in cornbread, and there was plenty of it in the Skillet Cornbread. With a schmear of the honey pecan butter, it was totally like having dessert first and why not. We decided to skip the wait for a table (and avoid being sat near the screaming babies) and sat at the bar for dinner. The bartender was friendly and attentive, and clearly had some regulars. Booze was relatively inexpensive ($4.25 for a single-shot mixed drink) and almost the same price as the fancy non-alcoholic beverages (the Bubbleade was fun, topped with those juice-filled popping boba). Overall, super shiny, corporate and sleek, not exactly like down home BBQ from any particular region. Good for a mall center and tourist town, I suppose. read more

Well the night was going well until the end, the waitress forgot our last order of wings and tried saying that the "batter was looking weird" so she never really clarified that they weren't able to give our wings. So communication was a problem here, and we told my partner told her to cancel the order but she straight up ignored him and we even sat there longer to see if we can talk to her in the end. In my opinion, the worst restaurant in Orlando. Slowest service I have EVER experienced in a restaurant, food is mediocre at BEST, but that is if you are willing to wait an hour for it to arrive from the kitchen, or wait the 20-30minutes for your server to actually show up. If you are looking for a place to eat, I'd say drive or walk the distance to go anywhere else. read more

So, me and my girlfriend wanted to get a bite to eat after she got out of work around 1AM, and this was one of the few places open with table service so we decided to try it. We arrive at roughly 1:30AM today and while I understand that's pretty late, they advertise being open to 2AM, so I didn't think it'd be an issue. When we walk in, there's no host to greet us. Fair enough, it's late, they're not expecting people to show up, the host probably walked off to the back to help clean or take a smoke break, whatever, it happens. Me and my girl walk up to the bar where a bartender and what looks like the manager were working. I say hi to the manager to get his attention and he only vaguely looks my way before going back to what he was doing, not saying a word to either of us and having an expression that said he'd rather be doing anything but dealing with more customers. At this point we were completely turned off to the idea of eating here and left. If the manager doesn't seem to care at all about customer service, why should I expect the cooks and the servers to be any better? We ended up going to a Steak & Shake, which shouldn't have better service being that it's a fast food restaurant, but guess what, it did! We got a table and food and everything. Long story short, if you have a restaurant that's going to be open til 2AM, you need to seat people til 2AM. If you're going to act like I'm inconveniencing you, don't set your hours that late or find a different place to work. read more

I went to Smokey Bones on a Sunday afternoon with a group of friends on a mission to find delicious wings. I must say that this location did not disappoint. To start we ordered sixteen of the smoked wings along with the buffalo chicken dip appetizer. The wings were exactly what we were looking to hit the spot, they had a great smokey taste with a lot of flavor. The rub goes perfect with the crispiness of these wings and if I could have had just that I'd eat them all. For wing fanatics, they do have all you can eat wings on Monday nights after 9pm...so I will definitely be back. The buffalo chicken dip was good, but definitely skippable...it's room better served for more wings. We also got one order of St. Louis style and one order of baby back ribs to share with the table. The ribs were almost fall off the bone and were delicious. We went in looking for some good BBQ and left very, very happy. The service was great, the staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. If you are looking for some good BBQ at decent prices, take a stop into Smokey Bones across from the fashion square mall, you won't leave unsatisfied! read more

Today is Mothers Day and my sister & I brought my Mom here. Well all there food came out and my simple chicken Caesar salad didn't. After 15 minutes my sister questioned and they brought to me ice cold. Told the waitress I didn't want it. But check this out they box it for me how crazy is that. No manager came over and waitress didn't care. So now once my family finishes I still have to get food . Ruined my Mother's Day dinner. My biggest problem is that the manager should have come irregardless he is professional who didn't act that way and should be ashamed. My wife and I came here for a Plant Nite and I am not sure if we will return. To be short, the service was terrible. We walked in and went right to the bar to order food and drinks. The bartender was quick to get our order in and got our drinks relatively quick. The issue came with the burger I ordered. I built my own with avocado and pineapple and apparently that was a mistake. It took 30 minutes for me to get my burger and it wasn't even that busy in there. I had to ask my waitress what the hold up was and I got the excuse that pineapple was a new thing and the kitchen was having a "melt down". The waitress was nice enough to give the burger free to me but it didn't really help how hungry I was. When I finally got my burger I took it over to the plant nite area and started to eat only to find out my burger was undercooked (more medium than medium well like I ordered) and no avocado. Unacceptable!! At this point plant nite had already started and I didn't want to waste any more of my time waiting for the kitchen to get it right. This location needs a serious overhaul of their staff in the kitchen before I return. They get one star for the drinks and one star for plant nite. read more

Everyone has a bad day and I'm sure the restaurant business is a very difficult one, but there is no excuse for poor service, downright unclean surroundings and waiting for more than 15 minutes with no appearance of service staff. Had there been a crowd, it might have been excusable but there were few patrons, the restaurant was less than ¼ full.  I literally had to ask to be waited on.  I would have walked out but there was a member of our party that wanted to be there so the rest of us relented. Let me tell you about the unclean part.  The blinds were covered in dust with a sprinkling of various sauces.  The menus were greasy and smudged. The salt and pepper shakers were slimy. Both garbage cans in the Ladies room were overflowing and was very dirty looking.  There was a water leak from one of the machines in the service area and water was tracked around the front entrance, the tiles were icy slick, I'm shocked that someone didn't slip, fall and crack their skull.  The plastic drinking glasses were old and chipped. Even the windows looked dirty.  The furnishings looked old and overused. Many tables weren't cleared for the duration of our visit. It was obvious that there was no care or pride put into the running of this establishment. My gut reaction was to run out the door.  After requesting service a young man stepped up and waited on us.  He was very good at his job but the food took forever to get to us, we were there for over 2 hours.  The prices are in my opinion unreasonable, we had $10 off coupons which helped. Here is the tragic part, the food was actually pretty good.  I couldn't really enjoy it because of all the gross factors. This place needs to hire a deep cleaning crew and they really need to spruce up and do repairs. No one wants to see a pool of water standing in the serving area. No one wants to use a filthy bathroom and no one wants to wonder about the horrors that must be in the kitchen based what is seen about the entire restaurant​.  I will never - ever go back, there is no coupon good enough or companion insistence that will get me back in there. read more

I have probably eaten at Smokey Bones 50 times during my life. When they were owned by Darden I mystery shopped them a lot. The restaurant has changed but one thing that hasn't is their pulled pork and ribs. The new atmosphere is way more hip and they even have a DJ on some nights. I will have to say their every day all day drink specials can't be beat. Beer is cheap and this month they even have really awesome girly drinks on special. For 3 dollars in a 20 ounce glass I had a coke with blackberry flavored rum, another type of alcohol and 4 fresh blackberry's. The best deal is happy hour half price appetizers and 99 cent porkie sandwiches. The appetizers all rock. The wings and there new mini sandwiches are my favorite. The best part is if you sign up for the email list they send you coupons all the time. 10 off 20 ect... They let me use the 10 off 20 on the half price apps and drinks. read more

Very disappointing! First of all, we went to another Smokey Bones only to discover they had a 46 on their health report, so we immediately left. We saw this one received an A so we came over here. Well, that was about the end of the good news. I ordered Brisket (the only reason we went there) and was told they were out. So I picked something else.. Then they came came back a few minutes later and told my wife it would be over 30 minutes for more chicken, so she had to order something else. The fries came out old and cold (and soggy). Her substitute dish, pork loin medallions, were just ok, kind of bland. On the bright side the Sausage and the Dry Rub ribs I got were pretty good, though very wet for dry rub ribs. The well done tater tots were actually excellent. No manager ever appeared to apologize for the lack of brisket or chicken. After three tries we finally got a to go box so we could leave. Not going to be headed back to this place again. read more

Very disappointed with our recent visit. Will not be returning because: quality of the food was not that good. My wife's Caesar salad was overly dressed and salty - it was not even cold and she could not finish it. Appetizer of fried green tomatoes was way overpriced for 5 slices served with no sauce at $10.49. Ridiculous. My smokehouse burger was prepared medium rare as requested and was fine. Baked potato side was not warm let alone hot. Was going to order dessert but decided to cut our losses and check out. Overall poor experience although our server was fine. read more

Total bullcrap that they got rid of BBQ chicken nachos and onion rings at all Smokey Bones locations. The nachos were undoubtedly the best thing on the menu. Is the burger good? Yes. But can I get it just about anywhere? You know I can. Do yourself a favor and go to Ale House where they don't remove the most popular things on the menu because "it bogs the kitchen down." Really?!? It bogs the kitchen down? Tortilla chips, BBQ chicken, cheese and nacho toppings bogs the kitchen down? Visiting from out west my children took me to Smokey Bones for fathers day. I must say I was extremely impressed. From the great server to the amazing food and portions, Smokey Bones made my Fathers day feel very special. My nephew is in town and suggested we go to Smokey Bones for dinner. He has visited the restaurant before and really liked their ribs. The place was ok, it looked like a Sonny's BBQ but with TVs. We weren't greeted right away, we had to ask if we seat ourselves or if we get seated. The guy behind the desk was very nice and he seated us quickly once we approached him. The server came over right away and was nice although twice I asked for lemon in my water and twice got no lemon. Since I was bad all last weekend for a relatives party, I decided to go healthy and have a salad. I ordered the steak and spinach salad with bacon bits and bacon vinaigrette. The salad was a good size but there was hardly any meat on it at all. After the fact when I mentioned it to the server, she said next time order it with extra meat, this would have been helpful when I ordered it since she's the employee and I had never been there before. In my opinion she should have asked if I like a lot of meat on my salad and let me know this particular salad comes with very little meat and given me the option of paying for extra meat. Overall it was an ok place, my fiance really liked the wings so I'm sure we'll be back for another visit. read more
