Found this place on yelp because the fam was craving bbq. It was 26 minutes away from home so we were hoping it was worth the drive. From the outside we felt a little apprehensive but we walked in and the staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating. The man helping us explained the menu thoroughly and how the combos worked. We got the food and it was absolutely DELICIOUS! Pulled pork was great, brisket was awesome, bean, coleslaw and mac and cheese was all delicious! I came here searching for wings and couldn't resist the smell of the barbecued ribs so got a half slab instead. They were fall-off-the-bone tender and tasted amazing! I was served almost immediately and the guy at the counter was just the right amount of friendly. My only complaint was the (bottled?) ranch; probably best to stick with ketchup or dry french-fries and barbecue sauce if you do try the wings. read more

Spent along time in KCMO....these guys know their Bbq...they have burnt ends, which is almost impossible to find here. Had brisket that was melt in your mouth good. Rib tips. Just right. Servings generous and super friendly owner. Sweet potato pie is on point. Hes making me go to gym overtime....cant wait to go back...gotta get those burnt ends...also potato salad that is outta bounds....Dont miss out on this place....awesome read more

Today was our third visit and just as fantastic as previous visits. I agree with other reviews this is best bbq in town. Worth driving to even if not in vicinity. We have tried the pulled pork, tri-tip and pastrami sandwiches. The pulled pork and tri-tip are the favorites. Both very flavorful. The jicama slaw on pulled pork is perfect and I usually don't care for sauces, etc on my sandwich. If leery, ask for slaw on the side. Tri-tip is served with horseradish (not too strong). Have also tried sides of beans and french fries, both good. Next time I'm going to try the wings. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! read more

I was excited to try this place as I'm a barbecue fan. The interior is nicely done and the patio is a nice addition. The service was helpful and swift. I ordered the pulled pork and was disappointed in the sauce, which tasted strongly of vinegar. The pork was tender but I couldn't taste any smoking at all. The slaw was nondescript. I hope they up their sauce game because we really need good KC barbecue in Tucson. read more

I am in Tucson as a tourist and asked for a local barbeque place, and was directed to Smokey Mo's. The brisket, which they only have on the weekend, was wonderful. Not too fatty or too much sauce. Give this place a try! read more

Excellent, awesome, divine! I was sorry to hear that they took the pastrami off of the menu. It wasn't the expected deli pastrami, but was special and awesome, but I understand that lots of people didn't appreciate its unique value. That being said, everything else I've had there has been great. We have a home smoker in the family who said he would buy the brisket there if he wanted some and didn't have time to do it himself. The surprise hit of my second visit was the calabacitas taco. i shied away from trying it but was convinced. Not a mistake! The sides are great. Creamy mac/cheese, fresh cole slaw, and crispy friest. I will venture to say this is the best bbq in town. On a non-food note, I appreciate the extra set of hand washing sinks outside of the bathrooms! read more

This place is amazing, everyone working here was extremely hospitable. The food was amazing, had the turkey melt sandwich and potato salad. The potato salad is freshly made and was definitely the best potato salad I have ever had at a restaurant. The turkey melt was amazing and had a heaping portion of meat on it. The brisket was cooked perfectly and not overpowering on flavor. If you haven't had a chance to go eat here, I highly recommend it. This is one of the best BBQ places in Tucson for sure, and the service is top notch. read more

Saw a full parking lot so decided to give it a try. Awesome BBQ. We ate pulled pork and smoked turkey sandwich. All very yummy. Served with garnish of jalapenos, pickles and pickled onions. They were the perfect compliment to the meal. Fries were very hot and crispy. Sampler platter was highly recommended but too much food for us. We spoke to people who ate it and they gave it rave reviews. Definitely will eat here again. The gentleman at the counter taking orders was very fun and helpful. read more

Pulled pork sandwich was awesome, as were the fries, the ribs had WAY too much hickory smoke flavor, they tasted like they had been sitting in a hickory ash tray for 2 months, and were not real tender. Prices are rather high. read more

Not the best. Friendly service but the BBQ was subpar. I had the pulled pork with a side of potato salad. My boyfriend also had the pulled pork with a side of baked beans because they were out of his first choice, tri-tip. The pulled pork was just nothing special. It had an ok flavor but had a little too much sauce for my liking. The potato salad was terrible. It was so dry and had absolutely no flavor. I had to add a bunch of salt and pepper just to make it somewhat editable. It had huge chunks of potatoes that made it even worse. As for my boyfriends baked beans, it had a weird flavor and the beans were undercooked. I don't know what the rest of the menu may taste like but this visit has made it so I don't want to find out. Tri Tip to die for! I like to wait a few months for new spots to work out any kinks before trying. Smoky Mo's, I doubt that they had any kinks as the food is excellent! The tri tip sandwich is my favorite... it is on a soft brioche bun with a sweet/tangy BBQ sauce. (it comes with horseradish sauce, I do not like horseradish so it is probably just fine if you are a fan) I had cole slaw and fries. The slaw is crispy and not too sweet or wet, the fries are hand cut and cooked just right. On my several times back (6) I have had the wings... fall off the bone... pulled pork it's great not at all fatty, mac and cheese very creamy...beans... good but they are vegetarian so not as good as mine... but all the sides are vegetarian so that us meat eaters can bring our veggie friends and everyone is happy. They also have calabacita tacos for our veggie friends. The staff are friendly and very helpful. the place is clean and has a great patio if you like to eat outside. My friend catered her birthday party and everything was hot and just as ordered... a big hit for the 30 folks at the party.... read more

So tried them today since they are new and I am always looking for good pastrami. Was not disappointed. I can tell you that the pastrami was very good. It wasn't the kind I was looking for but it was delicious. It was served on a pretty decent marbled rye. We also tried the brisket and turkey. The turkey was very disappointing. The slices almost seemed like deli meat. Did not like it at all but the brisket was yummy. As for the sides we had collard greens, mac and cheese and beans. Overall my fav was the beans. They were sweet but spicy. I love that combo. The mac was ok and the greens were fresh but needed more seasoning. The staff was fantastic and the place was inviting. (Staff means a lot to me. Stopped going to Kens because their staff was the worst) This is the kind of place I will return to for a few favorites. I am not in love with everything but some things are to die for. read more
