Probably the best BBQ in Denver. The sides here are not an afterthought like the forgettable sides are in most other BBQ places. The ribs are the best, fall off the bone tender and delicious without the need for sauce. Good service also. Downside is it is located in an odd and sad location; however, the food is worth a trip. read more

Meh. It was OK. Typical barbecue joint. Western atmosphere. They sat me by the kitchen door which was strange. I guess I should've just sat at the bar since I was by myself. I ordered the St. Louis ribs which usually come with no sauce on them at other BBQ restaurants I've been to, just the dry rub. I should've asked for no sauce. I feel when a restaurant has to cover the ribs with sauce, they're hiding something. I had the spicy sausage which was OK. The ribs had a lot of meat but they also had a lot of fat. Corn bread muffin was marginal. The coleslaw tasted like it came out of a bucket. read more

We had a great experience at Smokin' Dave's. The food was very good and we had great service. Our group arrived late afternoon on a Friday and there were already a few customers at the bar and eating. The decor was nice and as expected for a BBQ place. We had a Brisket Sandwich, a Pulled Pork Sandwich, and a Chili Burger. All were excellent and there were 4 flavors of BBQ sauce at the tables. Cole slaw comes as one side and it was tasty. There were several options for the second side and we had french fries (nothing special about them) and the Southern Corn Bake (this was SO GOOD and I would highly recommend!). read more

I've been coming to this place for about 3 years now. It is close to home and the food is pretty good. Took my mom while she was visiting and she ordered a steak which she said was just okay, not great, but I have not had an issue with anything I've ordered (I've never had their steak). Food was amazing! We ended up getting the Thursday special which was the 12oz prime rib with two sides and cornbread. I got the red beans and rice as one side and collard greens for the other. The red beans and rice was interesting. Not my favorite, but not bad either. The greens were definitely tasty! We also tried the Mac n cheese and jalapeño poppers which was spectacular! Nothing special about the Mac n cheese but again, more so about preference rather than quality. The reason why I'm docking one star isn't about the food or customer service, which I found good..On yelp, they have a 15% off your entire order promotion which I was told they'd honor..when it came home to pay, the cashier informed me that our meals didn't qualify because we opted for the specials. I don't mind paying my full bill, that's besides the point. The coupon said nothing about disqualifying items or anything to that extent. It was just really misleading. Corrective measures can be taken by simply adding the exclusions on the coupon. read more

Smokin Dave's makes some good BBQ. I have tried most of what hey serve which is all pretty good but my favorite by far is their Beef Ribs. They are slow cooked to perfection and I chew on those bones until there is nothing left but bone! The ambiance is great, warm and welcoming. I also really appreciate their sides which sometimes can be ignored in a BBQ joint. Their beans, coleslaw, home made potato chips and green beans are always tasty and are a great addition to the meats. If you want a good BBQ experience you will get it at Smokin Dave's! read more

This is an example of truly blowing it! Had a chance to correct the issue at least 2 times as we are very reasonable people. Ordered food for 5pm pick up. Food for 4 adults and 4 kids. Ordered at 3:30pm. Went to pick up and they clearly had forgotten about the order. At 5:40 still nothing ready! Really? None of the order was ready, who cares push something out of the kitchen. Kids are now hangry, going to subway . Was excited to try this place, well that has now passed and will stick with great and consistent BBQ from brothers BBQ. read more

We were recommended this location for good BBQ. I'm from Texas so I already had my expectations lower than I normally would but I was still disappointed. If you've ever had real Texas BBQ, you will be disappointed. We were pretty hungry after driving for 15 hours straight so none of the warning signs stuck out like not smelling any smoke outside the restaurant. I ordered the bbq chicken and "Texas" brisket. The chicken was good but the bbq sauce that was used should have been spicy instead of sweet. The brisket was definitely what gave this 2 stars instead of 4. If you like authentic Texas smoked brisket, then do not order it from this restaurant. It was not smoked. It was cooked in a broiler or oven and had no smoke flavor at all. The food was just basic and is nothing special. We asked for no bacon on our cheese fries and it came covered in it, and my collard greens were smothered in bacon too.
