To us, it tasted very bland; even with the double serving of matcha, the flavor was surprisingly light and not very pronounced. I personally prefer a little sweetness to enhance the matcha flavor, so this wouldn't be my drink of choice, and I probably wouldn't order it again. We also tried the Smoking Spaniard, a Spanish latte with espresso, condensed milk, hazelnut, and cinnamon. I liked this one much better, mainly because the hint of cinnamon gave it some character. Without that extra flavor, it might have tasted just as mild. Overall, the drinks were okay but not my favorites. They use sweet whipped cream cheese. They serve a breakfast sandwich with four Hawaiian rolls. It is super fresh, but the flavors are very boring. I felt very luck to find Smoking Tiger on a weekend open later in the evening. When I walked in, the cashier was extremely kind and helpful. She asked if it was my first time there and went over some of the drinks with me, which really made me appreciate this place. I ended up getting the Smokin Spaniard as a hot drink. Very cute place for a study area. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The drink was good but not great. Matcha is not strong, but the hojicha was really good. It wasn't too sweet and the banana seemed to come from the banana milk (obviously) but it wasn't like a syrup. The drinks came out fast and the person taking our order was super nice. The one I got was extremely watered down. I barely tasted like it. The banana coffee also had missed the mark. I don't think the coffee and banana taste meshed well together at all. It left a weird after taste. What saves this place is their pastries! I really enjoyed their lemon earl grey sconkie. It was lemon forward but the earl grey comes in at the very end. I had been to other smoking tiger locations before but this location is a brand new cafe. The service was friendly and quick. Both baristas acknowledged me as I was walking in which was nice. I opted for iced vanilla latte (half sweet). The barista suggested that I get the dark roast espresso but honestly I thought it was too bitter. ($5-6ish) Spam and mayo inside, super buttery exterior with a seaweed paper. Super unique and would get this again! Also tried their iced corn latte and peaches and cream latte ($6.50 each). Very flavorful, and the coffee is pretty smooth and not overly sweet. Peaches and cream was a unique item as well, and it was really good! I did take off half a star because this place is a little pricer for the quantity. Didn't realize a location opened in Garden Grove however it isn't the typical location where there's a self-serve bread station. My friend really enjoyed her coffee, the Smokin Spaniard. She thinks it's really yummy! She said that it was one of the best Spanish lattes that she's had. Also it has a perfect condensed milk to espresso ratio. I got the Jeju Matcha Latte but I did not enjoy it... When I was served my drink, the barista told me to let them know if I needed any changes made but I couldn't stay and had to leave by then. When I was sipping it, I realized that my drink was very powdery / chalky. It wasn't the best matcha in terms of flavor either. I was really disappointed to find out that the garlic bread was also sold out! We arrived at around 12pm so what a shame, it looked so good. Apologies for posting at wrong location - now fixed. This review is for their garden grove location. I had this review on draft and decided to post after I contacted them. I called them and explained the situation and they refunded me for the 2 items that was wrong so I raised the rating from what I originally was going to give. I wanted to like this place because I'm a big fan of Korean stuff and when my girlfriend and her sister told me about this cafe, I decided to give it a try after working out at the nearby gym. I'm visiting here on vacation but even if I was in this area more often, I don't think I will return. My gf and her sister wasn't a fan of their drinks their first time (they got the baby latte and a matcha drink and said it tasted it off). Today we stopped by mainly because of their cream cheese garlic bread. The picture posted by the owner you can find here on Yelp, looked good and I always wanted to try something like that. They are even advertising it as a speciality outside of their cafe. Upon entering, you see the counter to order and the display of all the pastries they have to offer. The menu is on the left. I opted for 3 things: Oreo scookie (I think that's how you spell it - scone and cookie combo), of course their cream cheese garlic bread, and their sweet corn latte. I was asked if whole milk is okay. I asked if they have nonfat or even low fat and they said no so I stuck with whole milk. The cashier was very friendly and it was a smooth, easy interaction but it went downhill fast. So there are 4 cup sizes they offer. She showed me the two biggest sizes for their corn latte - regular and large which is 16 and 20oz respectively. Upon receiving my order, I got the second size cup. I asked them "I thought regular was the 16oz?" The cashier that had told me that, looked confused or she knew she misspoke so she stayed quiet. The person that made the drink told me their sweet corn latte is either the second size cup or large which is actually their 16oz not their 20oz. So I already paid for a size I didn't expect to get because of a misunderstanding with the cashier. I quite liked the latte nonetheless. The same cashier then came around the counter to hand us our bag of pastries. We hopped in the car and as we were already driving on the road, I noticed the order was wrong for BOTH pastries. Again, we ordered an OREO SCONKIE and GARLIC CREAM CHEESE BREAD. I believe she gave us the order for the group in front of us instead? I don't know. After reviewing pictures on their Yelp, I found that the 2 items we got looks to be their "coffee bun salt bread" and "cream cheese garlic salt bread." My gf specifically wanted the Oreo sconkie and I specifically wanted the cream cheese garlic bread that is the circle bread with a star cut but we didn't get any of that. I included pictures of what we got vs what we should have got. Couldn't find a picture of the Oreo sconkie I'd though but you can tell we clearly didn't get anything oreo. read more

As soon as I saw they had an apple pie latte I ran to my closest location, which unfortunately for me was still twenty minutes away! We used the app to preorder though and it was super easy and ready at our pickup time. Plenty of parking on this location too so it's easy to pop in and out. Was intrigued by a Korean coffee shop and the cream cheese garlic bun was calling my name. I took the bun home and toasted it the next day and wow, interesting combination in that it was light, savory with the garlic flavoring, but a tad sweet as well? It had a bit too much cream cheese to bread ratio personally, but not terrible. Drink wise, had to go with a seasonal one and decided on the peaches and cream latte. I'm not a huge peach person, but the flavor profile intrigued me since I don't see it often. I loved the Biscoff crumbles for texture, and it made the drink taste more like a peach cobbler in latte form. I may actually order this again if I was in the area! They're located at the tail end of the plaza with Sprouts and had plenty of parking. Also they do sometimes show up on TooGoodToGo so you can get an assortment of day old baked goods for less to try!
