    Cheese Curds

stopped by before a Timberwolves game and had a nice experience. They have a two for one drink special on some wines, beers and rail mixed drinks until 5 PM. The ordering of the two for one drinks was definitely confusing, because it doesn't say anywhere that you have to put a promo code at the time of ordering in order to get the second one. This resulted in us accidentally ordering quite a few more drinks than we had planned, which we made work, but if you are planning on ordering the two for one drinks, know that you put a promo code at checkout to get the second one for free. The cheese curds were just OK. Overall, I think with the two for one special this is a cute place to stop by before a sporting event. The interior is large and they also have a basement.

Cool spot with OK bar food and a drink for everyone! The drink prices were really cheap IMO, but aligned with their size haha. We got chips and queso, the chips were out of a bag haha. Still hit the spot! We went before a twins game and it was a fun atmosphere. They have cool seating and plenty of it, with a downstairs as well I didn't venture to. Friendly staff, and you order via QR codes. Our food came out SO fast haha, like under 2 minutes fast. Definitely worth adding to your rotation of spots for pre-games or when you're downtown!

Antonio was a great server and gave us many diffrent MN recommendations for different things to after the twins game. We sat ourselves at a swing seat wish was so fun with a group. We had mimosas and 2-4-1 wells, as well as loaded tots and cheese curds. We would gladly come back here next time we are in the cities and could not thank Antonio enough for the great service and insight!

Stopped in at Smorgie's after a Timberwolves game. This place has a cool vibe with an interesting basement space. Orders are made via a QR code at the table and we ordered a couple of Smorgie's Smash burgers with tots and some onion rings. Everything was very good, although in my opinion they went too heavy on the secret sauce. I'll definitely eat here again, but maybe order the sauce on the side.

We wanted a recommendation and the wine picked for us was excellent. Went with the Plavac Milos. The food is honestly incredible! The carrots were my favorite. Someday I'll get enough courage to try the tinned fish. I wish seating was a little more comfortable for the whole "drink a bottle and stay awhile" vibe. It also can get pretty loud when it's busy in the tight quarters.

We pivoted to just a glass and a starter and went some place else after experiencing the place. Though there are 3 staff working the front area, we had to order at the counter. That really pulls us from our date setting. Also, deciding when to join the line to pay at the end? At one point I said, should I pause this story so you can pay or finish the story? Not the date vibe we were going for. It felt like the staff were watching us. The seating was uninviting -- add some pillows to the bench and the stools would be very unpleasant. The music was very loud coming from the front speakers and it felt like we had to talk loud to be heard (and so did the table a couple over from us, which we could hear every word). I'd love to write about the food (great) and wine (seems like a well curated selection) or even the music selection, but overall it was not worth the ambiance. To steal a line from another review (KS, spot on): "[Their] menu invites questions. It invites curiosity and conversation." -- not something you can have in a line at a counter. If we are supposed to order a bottle of wine and stay awhile, I want to feel like we are welcomed. Some warmth and table service would go a long way. We left and had the fantastic intimate dining experience and date night within walking distance.
