I know how big their salads usually are when you sit down and eat, but when you order takeout you're practically getting ripped off! It's so small. There were no croutons in the salad either when online it says there there is. As I was chewing the salad I was very displeased that there was a small piece of plastic in my food. Update: went to Panera Bread the next morning after church. Got a half & half. Half a sandwich and half a Cobb salad. The bowl was about 1/2 to 1/3 the size of the bowl at Snappy Salad. So I was so excited to try this place since it is so close, and was very hyped for the grilled avocado salad given how much Snappy Salad hypes it up. It wasn't a terrible salad, but the star of the dish (the avocado) was no where near ripe. I was planning to share the avocado with my 9 month old, but it too hard for him. If the avocado would have been creamy, this salad definitely had some potential. But the avocado was not really edible. So sad because I really really wanted to like it. Food is okay but they have a HUGE problem with the sound. It is so loud the servers can't hear you and make mistakes. It's hit or miss. Sometimes it's great and I absolutely love everything, the food and the service. Consistency is not always maintained. Today we placed an online order, and I felt bad I was running late, but they were slammed with only two people on the floor, and no one was coming out to help. I was there for about 30 minutes and they hadn't even started my order so I started writing this review . It took another 15 minutes before I got my order. Now I understand they did the best they could and some things were out of their control but I was a little surprised they didn't offer anything in way of apology to make things right. I don't necessarily think the employees are "bad" here. I think they haven't been trained well by the manager or owner. No greeting, employees looked passive, indifferent and unhappy. There were 4 people in front of us and one of them looked at me and rolled his eyes, mouthing something about the wait. You'd think 5 people behind the counter could zip the customers through, so you'd think. After about 5 minutes, we got to the front of the line and we asked what the soup of the day was. "Garbanzo", said the female server. Garbanzo what? She offered no other info. In chicken broth, beef broth, tomato soup, with veggies, meat or chicken? She just kinda stared at us. I have been coming to this location since it opened, it was great at first. The salads are just not consistent. I could get the same salad 2 days in a row and they will taste different. The people at the counter are rude and they don't acknowledge you unless you say something to them. The manager or owner that's always behind the counter corrects and shames his employees in front of customers. Not professional at all...take it to the office if you feel the need to scald your employee. I really tried to give this place a chance because I generally love Snappy Salads, but I've been disappointed the last 3 times. I should probably mention that we always do take out. The first issue is that I'm never full because they never fill up the container. This last time I felt like I got half of a half. Then on top of that, the last two times I got a Caesar salad and it was mostly yellow and white parts. Could give 0 stars if it would let me. I recently moved to Midland so I was very much looking forward to eating at my favorite salad place while in town. So my friend took me to this new location that we had never been to before but it closer than the one in plano that we normally would go to. First off we walked in and the employees were clueless to what we wanted. My friend asked for Spinach for her salad and the girl said she was not sure if they had any and didn't go back to the back to look so she settled with romaine lettuce. She was unsure about one of the toppings so she asked the girl what it was and her response was "idk some kind of bean maybe" they also did not have several of the toppings and cheeses they usually have. Then I asked for the grilled avocado salad and the lady didn't asked if the dressing was correct and starting pouring some random dressing on it. When I told her it was not the right one she argued with me (I've been to snappy's multiple times and I know what the dressing looks and tastes like) so I then informed them that it was not what I wanted. The guy that was working told me it took an entire day to make the correct dressing that goes with the salad so I wouldn't be able to get it. We decided to pay for the salads and give them a try (even tho we knew we wouldn't like it) we both took 2 bites and instantly spit the salad into a paper towel soo nasty. And left without eating the salads. Very disappointed. We ended up driving across town to the Plano location where we KNOW we will be satisfied. I love the Grilled Avocado Salad with added grilled chicken! It has the perfect amount of greens, chicken, avocado and the good stuff that makes this salad so delicious! I have been a patron and fan of Snappy Salad since they had just one or two locations in Dallas. At NorthPark and Preston/Forest. I've continued to be a fan and frequently visit the other locations as well throughout Dallas, Plano, and Richardson. I decided to stop in on Saturday to check out the new location since I love Watters Creek and it was perfect patio weather. I was not disappointed and came to find the same great customer service and fresh ingredients I have always been accustomed to. The staff is definitely new and they are still learning, but that is to be expected. The portions were equal to what I get at other locations and my salad tasted great. I personally love their green initiative and think the paper straws are fantastic. They are well ahead of the game and I think many other places will follow suit in the years to come. Other states and countries have already banned traditional plastic straws in an effort to clean up the environment and keep wildlife protected. If you don't like them, perhaps purchase a reusable metal straw and use that? Glad to have a new location that is close to home and in a beautiful environment. This area was definitely missing a casual and healthy dining option like this. I was shocked to see the negative reviews, but my experience tells me the management and owners will do what they can to remedy the issues. They stand behind their product.
