Walked in on a Thursday morning late in the morning. It wasn't busy at all. The lady was super nice. I ordered a vanilla freez with an add shot. It was meh, tasted like burnt coffee with not enough vanilla flavor. Then I seen the pastries and bagels and decided to get a egg and cheese on a croissant. I asked if they were real eggs she said yes. What I didn't know is that she makes them in the microwave and that the cheese was some type of white cheese maybe mozzarella or jack. I prefer cheddar. Snap! And here we are. Once upon a time, I was at a NYE event with an Oakland-based dance company. It was catered by the business of one of the dancers, Snappy's Café. The food was so good, I knew I had to come to Snappy's some time. Problem is, I rarely go through Hayward, and I almost never get off 880 when I do. Problem solved. The rest of my family flew back from Texas, and on our way to Santa Cruz, we had lunch at Snappy's Café. Be warned that A Street becomes one way - against you - if you're coming from 880, and Snappy's is on that first one-way block. It's a small, cute little café. I never thought I'd use "cute" and "Hayward" in the same sentence, but now I did. A few tables against the walls, a counter where you can sit at the window and have a beautiful view of A Street Downtown. Jazz music in the background. The stuffed turtle sauntered up to my 3rd-grader to say hi -- or did her dad help the turtle with the sauntering? Had a short talk with April, my first chat with her even though I'd seen her at many dances, and she's just as sweet and helpful as other Yelpers have written. The sandwiches were small, but this is a coffee shop and not a deli. No Dutch crunch rolls here. My wife had a turkey sandwich, and my girl and I both had grilled cheese (mine with the extras). A good `wich was had by all, and we were able to tell which `wich was which. The light spice on mine did the trick. I'd love to write a review about the tea, but my tea-loving hunny surprisingly ordered a Coke and not tea. The relaxed atmosphere made for a good light lunch, for a total hit of just over $16. Snappy's Café is the kind of place where you can bring either a book or a laptop and laze away the morning. But if you do, keep buying the coffee and sandwiches, don't just take up space. This is a good place, and the more you get, the longer April can keep it going. read more

Cute little coffee shop. When I say little, it really is little. 2 tables with 3 chairs each and 2 bar stools by the window. I like the red walls and the barista was very sweet. The coffee was good. More power to the small businesses. I hope this one continues to do well against the establishment (Starbucks) which is just kitty corner from here. Sweet little cafe! My daughter and friend met here for a coffee date and it was such a nice experience. The kid's cocoa was drained quickly by my daughter and my soy latte was perfect. Note: It's easy to miss this place so you may have to circle again but there's a small parking lot as well as street parking so once you locate this gem, you should be fine. It is hard to build a Coffee Shop when having a Starbucks across the block. Thankfully the service is very kind and local customers seem to like it a lot. I love that the coffees are served in big, hand-warming mugs, my boyfriend could not finish his medium White Mocha! My latte was stronger than expected... great! It was way more than just warm milk. Best coffee carafes ever! Our office orders large coffee carafes for events from Snappy's fairly regularly. Their coffee is delish! They open early, always have our coffee ready when we arrive to pick it up, and provide cups, stirrers, milk, and sugars. No group is too big or too small. Just call at least one day ahead. The best part is that you can return it all when you are done. This is a more environmentally friendly alternative to the disposable carafes you get at other places (I'm looking at you starbucks and peet's), plus the quality of the coffee and service is exponentially better! Plus, it's more affordable. They also have delish breakfast sandwiches and host fun community events. If you are in the area and need a quick breakfast and coffee this is definitely were you should stop. They even have convenient parking! read more

I literally had less then 20 minutes to get some food in my system. My work schedule was packed and I wouldn't have a chance to eat for the next 9 hours. I had an 8 minute drive to snappys from my work place and 8 min back....this place saved me!! Not only did I get back to work with a minute to spare, the food hit the spot ! It felt as if Time slowed down when I pulled apart my turkey egg and cheese croissant. The first bite was everything I needed it to be..warm, gooey cheese, crispy but soft buttery croissant...I want another as I write this. The lady at the counter was so sweet and welcoming. This is a super cute coffee shop with lots of local art. I stopped by to get some work done in the morning before going to an event to avoid traffic and it worked out perfectly. I got a coffee and a muffin, both standard quality. The muffin was covered in plastic wrap for freshness, so I don't think it's any special offering, but it was a good blueberry muffin, especially warmed up! There's a closed video shop next door with an appropriately sized parking lot in between them. Snappy's only has seating for ~12, so that's something to keep in mind. I can imagine it gets full at peak times. With that said, I was very pleasantly surprised by the kindness of the barista. Once she saw me take out my computer, she asked if I needed an outlet and pointed out the ones available and told me to let her know if I needed help with the one behind the counter (there aren't enough outlets for the 12 seats). There's soft jazz music playing and its a great atmosphere to get work done. I would love to start my day here every morning, if only I lived here! read more

For the area, this is the cafe you want to be at! The owner is friendly and always there. The set up is very comfortable to hang out and do work or just enjoy. You can really tell that this is a labor of love. You can tell a good cafe by the little details, and Snappy's is just perfect. Even the beans are locally roasted! You'll have to park on the odd side street because of Hayward's ridiculous Loop, but the walk is literally just around the corner. Comparing this cafe to the Starbucks by Lucky's would be an insult to Snappy's. Lol. Oh, they have almond milk here, which Starbucks does NOT have yet. Right now, I'm looking at a flier for live jazz on Saturday afternoon. 12-1:30pm, the first Saturday of the month. How cool! Thanks for being here, Snappy Cafe! read more

Can I just say hayward has some of the best little hole in the wall coffee shops. The quality of coffee here is amazing. Not too acidic and nice and smooth. I also enjoy the muffin and cookie selection. I haven't tried the other food options there because I usually go there to get coffee and a small snack then go to study somewhere else due to the small size of the cafe. The interior of this place is also very cute. I briefly explored the back and it looked like they had some books in Japanese I didn't open them but the next time when I'm not in a rush I'll make sure to thoroughly Browse. I love this little cafe! It's so cute and quaint. Located right on A Street (park in the parking lot across the street from the Funky Monkey and it's a short walk away), this little gem is hard to miss. Their chai tea latte is very good, but I think the best part of this cafe is that there are so many of my favorite drinks available here: dirty chais as well as Mexican hot chocolate! Lovelovelove. The store holds little events from time to time on the weekends (spoke to the barista behind the counter, though she may have been the owner?), and has a little display of handmade jewelry for sale as well. Not necessarily to my taste, but I'm all for supporting local businesses and artisans! Also, because a small event had just wrapped up before we got there, our barista offered us some of her leftover cookies for free to take with our drink. Lady, say no more. Snappy's Café is NOT conveniently located on the busycornerof A and Main, but I have to say I am going to become a faithful customer for at least 10 cups of coffee.
