The sandwiches at Snarf's are well above average, and there are some pretty good sandwich shops in Boulder that they compete with. My favorite is the Italian sandwich. The food is excellent, service is terrible. Last time I ordered delivery I waited two hours and my food was never delivered, but at least they refunded me. Despite having an incredibly busy day, I was willing to take a break rather than delivery. I should have gone elsewhere. Timeline: I arrived at 2:04pm. There was no line but the employees were talking amongst themselves. I didn't think much of it, I would let them finish their conversation, it shouldn't take that long. I patiently waited, made eye contact with them quite a few times and they each time continued their conversation. At 2:11pm the employee said he was ready to take orders. Despite that I waited in line, a rude customer cut right in front of me and then the employee didn't blink an eye. It wasn't worth confronting the individual, so I let it go. At 2:12:51pm (~9 minutes) of painfully awkwardly standing waiting for my order to be taken, despite no line and plenty of staff, I ordered my sandwich. At this point I made it aware that out of respect for others in the establishment, as well as that I don't want the music in the restaurant to distract me while on a call, that I would be outside on a call. At 2:30 I went inside, despite being on the phone still, to see if my sandwich was ready. It wasn't on the counter, so I went back outside to wrap up my call. At 2:37pm I finished up my call and went back inside. I asked to see if my sandwich was ready, and an employee said "Oh, I called your name multiple times. It's been back here for a while now." 33 minutes from start to finish, with a near-empty store, to get the one sandwich. Between now two less-than-optimal experiences at Snarf's I feel as if this review is warranted. Again, the food is excellent, but the service is frustrating as can be. Snarf's is the home of awesome subs, loud music, complimentary copies of the Onion, tattoos and other body art and slow service. The lines are long but the staff is friendly and they are busy! Got some basic sandwiches (Italian and Roast Beef/Provolone) to go, quick, friendly service and I was the only one in line, so easy. The rolls are a little large and dense for the amount of filling, but it was all fresh and tasty. I just pitched the bottom of my roll and ate it open face. My husband had no issue with the roll. I used to come here a lot when I had colleagues who "loved to lunch". It's not quite as conveniently located to my new office, but still just as snarfy! Bread is delish....the smell makes me swoon as soon as I walk in the door, but thankfully lacks that "plastic" smell that hits you in the face at Subway. Snarf's fries are delicious, I love the outside seating, and little shack feel that Snarf has... My only problem is they put some sort of hot sauce on the burgers (without asking) and I'm not really into spicy things but otherwise, it was a decent burger! Great sandwich shop! I had a vegetarian version of the Cobb salad. They subbed grilled artichoke for the bacon at no charge. It was lovely, especially with the shiitake dressing. Or go before or after the lunch rush ... you'll still have to wait up to 10 - 15 minutes even if there's only 1 or 2 other people in the joint. This place does not even deserve a one star review. I wish I could give them negative stars. My partner has been coming to this location and has been a loyal customer of this horrid establishment for two years. Not only has he frequented this location, but he has introduced his friends and colleagues to this place. My partner just ordered multiple sandwiches, including a roast beef and provolone sandwich. He paid for the sandwiches, gave the employees a tip, and brought the sandwiches home. Upon getting home, he found that his roast beef and provolone sandwich didn't have any roast beef on it - - it was cheese and toppings only. So, he called them immediately and let them know that the sandwich had been made incorrectly. He repeated his original order, and they told him that they would make it and he should come back and get the new sandwich, which they said would be free. We soon found this to be nothing more than a lie. Within 10 minutes, we returned to the location, and my partner went in to retrieve his sandwich. Not only did they refuse to give him his sandwich, they insisted that he never even ordered a sandwich with roast beef on it to begin with. It's one thing to tell someone on the phone that you can't remake a sandwich. It's another thing to tell someone you'll remake a sandwich, ask them to spend their time and money to come pick it up, and then deny that they had ordered the food that they had, indeed, ordered, and which you had previously acknowledged. This location didn't get anything right--wrong ingredients on the sandwiches, writings on wrappers were switched, wrong chips, no receipt, no napkins.
