Second, the service was fantastic. Attentive, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. The order arrive quickly and everyone was engaging and just plain nice. Last but not least, the food was just perfect. The habanero pork belly was seasoned perfectly. Just the right amount of punch. Now, I like a little extra kick so I added chorizo to my bowl and it was so freaking good. We came to town for a wedding in the downtown area this weekend. We looked on Yelp Decided A local breakfast and brunch eatery. We were delightfully, surprised as both of our meals were fantastic. I had fresh squished, orange juice, ham Bennie with a perfectly poached egg and smoky cheddar hollandaise sauce.. My husband had the shrimp, andouille sausage, and creamy grits. Both were 10/10! The hospitality and service were also impeccable for a moderately sized eatery. There were people of all ages and stages of life. I had been meaning to try this place out for a long time so I was happy to finally get a chance. The inside of the restaurant is very colorful and vibrant with nice music playing. There's also a nice patio I plan to use when the weather is nice out. I ordered the Protein Trio Omelet which did not disappoint. The eggs were light and airy but the omelet itself was super dense with meat and veggies i decided to add. The portion size is pretty big and I could barely finish. I also upgraded my toast to the Strawberry Shortcake Pancakes. They were super soft and the fruit was fresh and delicious. Personally my only complaint was the hashbrowns. They come in a hockey puck style and I think they would cook better and more evenly if they were flat. Otherwise I had no complaints. My friend ordered the Snooze Classic and really enjoyed it. She felt the same about the hashbrowns and also felt like the biscuits and gravy were pretty average. But order than that no complaints. read more

The parking situation was a bit cramped--there's one parking lot with limited access in and out, plus curbside parking. Once we found a spot, getting inside and seated was a breeze for my wife and me. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and my wife went with the original breakfast pancakes. Love their Pancake Flight which is one of each Pineapple Upside Down, Cinnamon Roll & Strawberry Shortcake pancakes (3 total). You can customize &/or sub in the Pancake of the Moment also. If you download their app & add your bday then they give you a FREE pancake flight. Also, their Benny Duo are delish if you can't decide which Eggs Benny to get. I've tried most of their menu. Service has always been fast & efficient. Just be aware of bfast & lunch rushes. If the wait is too long you can always do an online order on Snooze's app, food app services for delivery or pick up takeout. I have booked an appointment thru' Yelp app. It was very easy and I've got in around 11.45 am for the 12 pm reservation since they had tables available. Initially, I've mentioned that I need the table for 5. Once they saw we've a baby along with 5 they actually referred us a big table along with baby chair. That's how you take care of your customers. Lot of good brunch/lunch options in menu. If you're really confused with what to order (like me) you should go for Benny duo. You've an option to choose 2 of the Benedict ones. I've ordered Benny duo with Smashed Avocado Benny and Habanero pork belly Benny. Delicious overall. Very limited parking spots available here for a busy restaurant. Let's start positive - the overall food quality was good. They certainly know how to poach an egg. So go get some food and know it'll MOSTLY taste good. But...here it comes - First, I was in a party of two, and I understand that larger parties are a greater challenge when coordinating seating, but this one table for two was right up against a half wall with a full coat rack right next to it. A guest shouldn't have to feel so "stuffed in a small box" with this big of a space. Last time I got an omelette and swapped the toast for a cinnamon roll pancake, so good and way bigger than I expected! While there, I saw they had a rewards program, I signed up, and received a free pancake flight on a return visit. I came back for my birthday brunch to use the reward. I tried the confetti, strawberry shortcake, and cinnamon roll pancakes. All were tasty, but the cinnamon roll is still my favorite. I also had a side of bacon and an espresso martini, yummy! We stopped in here after our annual eye exams so our eyes were dilated. I don't know why that makes me hungry, but it does. The joint is bright and colorful--maybe a bit much for my giant pupils but we were seated promptly and served up some much needed coffee, pronto. The food was good and service was quick and friendly. We tried out Snooze for the first time and I was very impressed. We were seated immediately, the staff were very kind and helpful. Service was quick and our orders were brought out quickly. The restaurants atmosphere gave old school restaurant vibes. Old colors, old style tables from the 70s that looked great. Nice wood pieces on the walls, nice lights from the ceiling as well. My family and I came here for brunch yesterday and had such a great time. We ordered tequila espresso martinis and they were absolutely fantastic. My dad even ordered one and he doesn't normally drink but he couldn't help himself after trying ours! I ordered the garden harvest omelet and so did my sister. We loved it and had some leftovers for breakfast the next day. My sister has celiac disease and the server reassured her that they will try their best to make everything gluten free and even try to prepare her food separately to avoid getting her sick. She has been perfectly fine since eating here so they did a good job at paying attention to allergies. They can do a lot of dishes gluten free so she also got strawberry shortcake pancakes gluten free and we loved them!!! She can't remember the last time she had pancakes. My dad got the jalapeño and cheddar omelet and my brother ordered the classic breakfast. To add, my little sister got the bravocado toast. My dad and I also wanted to try the OMG French toast and mm mm mmm!! We all were very pleased with our meals. Our server was nice. Those who dropped off food asked if we needed anything else (ketchup, cholula, etc) which we did in fact need. I'd say it was pretty great to see the staff all help each other out and work as a team. Side note: they have their own brand of sriracha and it was so so good!! Definitely had spice to it but just the right amount. Our waitress Katie was amazing.. so cheerful and so happy to help. Everything else was very meh. The biscuits & Gravy was more a Grave for my Biscuit than a meal. The biscuit was over baked and hard on the top. Was like eating a crouton with gravy. I had the top half thinking it was just that, then I let my friend try the bottom. And his face said it all as he was chewing for a while through the crunching. Also, my scrambled eggs were just room temp and wasn't the greatest at all. After I eat something not great I just can't get anything else. Not that my standards are high but I just want edible and delicious. I wasn't expecting anything but would have been nice to have the manager come to the table and check on me. It would have settled the dislike a little more. No manager came or said anything and I was still charged for a Charred Biscuit with gravy and cold eggs I didn't eat. Also, the person who dropped out food off seemed a tad upset. She had a pony tail with an orange shirt under a long sleeve. We asked for a refill of coffee and it seemed she came over with a new cup of coffee. And seemed to put it on the table hard. We were looking for a new breakfast place in Kansas City close to the Country Club Plaza area, and we decided to give "Snooze" a try. Certainly glad we did. Snooze has a bright artsy interior with individual tables and booths throughout. They've got a lovely bar from which they offer a host of breakfast drinks: Mimosas, Bloody Mary's, etc.... I was planning to try the Chilaquiles, but they were 86 for the day. I pivoted to my go-to breakfast at any new restaurant, corned beef hash, and eggs. Theirs was among the best I've ever had, and I've eaten hash and eggs all over the country. House-made corned beef, great seasoning with the potatoes, onions and peppers. I complemented it with a little Yellow Bird, a Serrano pepper, hot sauce, and it was absolutely perfect. My wife went with the Strawberry Shortcake Pancake with chicken sausage, and she said it was fantastic. Our server was courteous, very knowledgeable, and absolutely on point. In our short stay, my coffee was refilled three times, he checked up on our order, and really made sure we had a good experience. Don't get me wrong the managers are really good at correcting the issues. I have been to Snooze in Denver, CO, Charlotte, NC and Kansas City, MO. The staff at the Kansas City location are a bit less personable than in both Colorado and Charlotte. I always get the sweet potato veggie smash up add tofu. I can say that in Kansas City, I'm not sure that they know how to cook or season tofu. It was thrown on cold as, what seemed like, a last minute addition. Every Snooze location I've visited is super busy, especially on the weekends, but the enclosed patio is a nice touch for the Kansas City location. read more

TL;DR: Nice service, lukewarm food. Atmosphere was bright and welcoming. Family of four (2 adults, 2 kids), sat quickly. Server was friendly and quick to bring our drinks. Coffee did not taste great and we're fairly sure our drinkware wasn't cleaned properly because my nitro cold brew had a mint aftertaste which I didn't order. One set of our silverware had food still on it when it was given to us. Most of the food was alright but came out literally lukewarm. Somehow they served us black-burned bacon that was floppy, scoring as the weirdest breakfast item I had this year. The replacement bacon was not hot. Unsure how that's possible. A lack of parking and lukewarm food does not inspire a return visit, but I can see the appeal of this place so I am giving it a firm 3 stars. read more

Friend of mine and I came here on an early Friday morning (like as soon as the doors opened) which gave us a one way to a booth. Our server was super kind and gave me the recommendation to try the snooze breakfast burrito. That burrito was the best burrito I've had since I've moved to kc. Savory, not overly cooked and the taste of everything in the burrito was balanced out. The yellow bird serrano hot sauce complimented the burrito incredibly.
