This is one of our favorite restaurants, but not tonight. We showed up for the $5 cheeseburgers for National Cheeseburger Day. Not surprisingly, they were quite busy, and service was slower than normal. That's understandable as swamped as they were. To apologize for the delay, the manager provided us, unprompted, with tickets for free burgers on our next visit. The kind of service we've come to appreciate from Snuffer's. More time passes. The table next to us, whose order was put in at the same time as ours, had finished eating. People who came in and ordered after us have gotten their food. Unprompted yet again, the manager comped our ticket, and assured us that ours would be the next order out of the kitchen. And, she was true to her word. Our order was out almost immediately after she left the table. And all three burgers were wrong. At that point, having waited an hour and a half for our food to come out wrong, we left to go elsewhere. While we can appreciate how busy they were (apparently unexpectedly so), the fact that the squeaky wheels who complained were taken care of without problems while those of us who were patient and understanding ultimately left disappointed (and still hungry) made for the worst experience at a Snuffer's in some 15-16 years of patronage. We're not going to be "those" people and threaten to stop going because of one (VERY) substandard visit out of dozens (if not hundreds) of great ones, but its most certainly not what we've come to expect from Snuffer's. read more

So I decided to give it a go in Richardson. Wow this was a mistake. I haven't eaten at Snuffer's since the "OLD" Greenville location. This is not the same restaurant! These are not the original recipes either! The servers are the worst that I have ever seen in any restaurant. After being seated as a party of two (2) people we waited over 20 minutes to be greeted and that would have been longer had I not went and tried to make my own soda. The "classic" cheddar fries came out cold and the melted cheese had cooled and started to sweat, I just stared at them after one bite. I ordered the cheddar burger and I never got it, I finally got up and went to the host stand since I couldn't find my server, or a manager for thy matter told the hostess gave her $10 for what I had and walked over to Torchy's Tacos. To be fair, my friend M and I came here on what was apparently national margarita day? I had no idea, but it was CRAZY busy up in there. This new location is nice, but small, so there was definitely a wait. I know they have a lot of new staff (the hostess was being given regular tips from other employees) and it's a new location, but I think they forgot our order in the kitchen. The table behind us was seated about 15 minutes after we ordered food and got their cheese fries 30 minutes before we did... The waitress came by later asking if we'd ever gotten our cheese fries and when we said no, she said she'd go check on it. She said the kitchen was "backed up" and that was the cause for the delay... but c'mon. The kitchen clearly lost our orders. The table behind us was done eating before we got our burgers. Once we got the food, everything was super tasty (as is always the case at Snuffer's), and a manager came by to check on us a couple times (which is how I know the order was totally lost). I'll definitely be back because this is the closest Snuffer's to my house, but the parking lot is always so jammed, it makes me wonder if they'll ever slow down enough for new people to get training and for the kitchen to not lose orders.. Food is average. Possibly below average. Service is terrible. I've given this place several tries at a few locations. As a former Restaurant GM and District Manager they need a lot of work with training and that includes management ( if they have any). read more

Let me start out by saying that I am a huge fan of Snuffer's. My wife and I have eaten at every location several time and are hoping they will put one in Frisco. That being said, this was not a good night for this new location. It took us forever to get our food and then when we finally got it it was well below Snuffer's usual standard. The mark of a good restaurant is how they handle problems because no matter how good, there will be problems. In this case the manager stepped in and handled the situation. Also, I would like to say thank you to Rebecca. She was not our server but every time she would walk by she would check on us and was a real sweetheart. Our server was not very good and I suspect she was the main contributing factor to our problems. We will definitely be back because I definitely believe Snuffer's has the best burgers in the metroplex and the best cheese fries. And I am a burgermeister. read more

Confused - But They will get better with experience, just practice on someone else. Late on a Saturday afternoon it should not take 10 minutes to get a beer. Ordered a 20 oz Blood & Honey and an IPA, from waitress, she was a lot confused on what on tap means, and they had to go check to see what they had. Anyway, Bartender came over within a few minutes to say the IPA only came in 14 oz, fine with me just bring it. Beers eventually come and I grabbed the 14 oz as the IPA was mine, gave the 20 oz to wife. She immediately tells me something is wrong this is not a Blood & Honey! Well she was right the Blood & Honey came in the 14 oz and the IPA in the 20 oz. It just goes on from there. Give them a few months and they will get better, surely... read more

Came here for lunch with a few coworkers and totally stuffed my face with delicious cheese fries and a big, juicy jalapeño burger. The service was great, fast and (almost freakishly) attentive. Hazel was a STELLAR server on NY's Day and our food couldn't have been more satisfying as a start to the new year! It didn't hurt that Tuesdays are the $5 Cheeseburger Day so adding a huge basket of cheese fries didn't hurt the wallet at all. I was so stuffed on the fries that came out first, I took half my burger (done PERFECTLY medium!!) home and when I oven-warmed it 2 days later, it STILL was delicious! This location, in a strip center corner (old Luby's space?) is doing everything RIGHT and should be here for years to come of they don't change a thing! Also, Snuffer's donates 5% of every burger sale to the local PD, which is a pretty cool way to support those who are there to protect and serve. This is my second time visiting this place and I have to say they have turned my opinion around. I did not have a good experience the first time and if not for my friend I probably wouldn't have gone back. I'm glad we did. It was really nice out so we decided to sit on the patio. The waiter came out very quickly and talked us into margaritas with Midori . They were so delicious. He was great! He gave us a few minutes and got our order. The food was absolutely amazing. I don't know if they changed crew or what but this place is nothing like what I experienced almost three years ago. I enjoyed every minute of our time there. So kudos to the people of Snuffers! Your cheese fries are to die for, your service is awesome, but for all that is holy please, please, please- when you move multiple tables around pick the stupid things up. As I try to enjoy meal my I keep hearing the scratches and squeals and high pitched squeaks that are hurting my ears and creating a sense of complete agitation. It has been 15 minutes non stop. Pick up the tables and move them- you can do it. Your patrons will thank you. Talk about beating up the meat! Me and my gal were craving some good hamburgers today so we went to snuffers and hammered out some burgers. And Great service! My girl Vicki was on top of her game today, my water didn't get below half way the whole time (except for when I spilled it. Oopsie! Mommy brain, what can I say? Haha!). I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger and I've never had anything greater in my mouth I can swear to you! It was the most delicious burger. And a plus about this place is the sides are HUGE, so just share one with your gal! And if you're into alcohol- I am personally not because of my religious beliefs (praise the lord!)- this would be your place!
