    Pastrami Diablo Sandwich
    Kristen K.

Snyder's is now under new management. The same team that runs Hank Hudson Brewing. This was also my first visit so I can't speak to any changes/similarities to how the restaurant has been. Everything ordered was delicious. The pastrami Diablo comes with a Smokey coleslaw which is a nice twist. It wasn't spicy hot just gives a little warmth to the sandwich. The chicken bacon ranch quesadilla was loaded with filling and very cheesy!

I have never been to Snyders, despite living nearby for a long time. Today I decided to come in and was very glad I did. The atmosphere and staff are classics. They're comfortable handling a big Sunday rush, and I was solo, but not ignored. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, as I often do. Today I was blown away by one of the best poaches I've ever seen on these eggs! It was heavenly! I'm guessing the hollandaise sauce was not hand made, but that did not matter. If you're a fan of this dish, don't miss Snyders!

MUST READ IF YOU'RE LOCAL & BEEN HERE I have been coming to Snyders my entire life. It's always been a weekend breakfast spot for my family. But not because the food was amazing. It was more about comfort, nostalgia, and it's like Cheers for us. Recently they've come under new management & breakfast has been amazing. My husband and I decided to stop tonight to get breakfast for dinner. To our surprise there's an all new dinner menu. I was definitely skeptical at first seeing things like filet mignon & sea food. But the truth is...We were absolutely blown away! Everything was so good! In terms of food, this is not the same restaurant I've been coming to all my life. It's so much better. As far as the welcoming, friendly staff...it's the same Snyders I've always known.

Weekend special of eggs, mini pancakes, meat and toast. Only the sausage and toast was okay tasting. The rest was gross.

I went here during the July 4th holiday weekend (because the Halfmoon Diner was closed), hoping to grab a quick homestyle breakfast. Pretty disappointed. Our food order came out wrong, the service was -incredibly- slow (especially for what we ordered), the bacon was gross, the pancakes tasted like they were sitting out for hours, and the eggs were super yolky tasting, which just isn't my preference. The sausage was okay, but couldn't save the meal. Waitstaff was reasonably friendly, but seemed to hate their jobs. However, I would hate working July 4th weekend as well, so I'll give them that. ;) Definitely not coming back.

They've been in business in my town for more than 55 years and it only took me 38 of those years to get around to trying them. Was it worth it? You decide... They are open 7 days a week from 6am to 3pm. So when my wife asked me at noon on a Saturday if I'd like to go out for breakfast, I figured we should be able to get there in time. As we approached their parking lot shortly after 1pm, I wasn't sure if they were still open because we weren't seeing any cars in the parking lot. But then we saw three customers leaving at that point and heading toward their car. Upon entering, we realized those had to have been the last three customers in the place. We were looking at eight large, empty, perfectly clean booths, each capable of holding six adults comfortably. There was also another room with counter service and I think more tables. Our soon to be server told us to have a seat wherever we liked and mentioned how much busier it was earlier. It actually was nice to see everything looking so clean. We ordered coffee ($2 each with a refill offered) and waited to receive menus. Our server only realized that we didn't have menus when she returned with the coffee and started to ask if we had decided what we would like to order. My wife chose French Toast ($4.75) along with an Egg, over-easy, and Sausage ($5.55). The egg was cooked properly and the two large plump sausages (not those small skinny breakfast ones that taste like they have sage and thyme) were tasty. The French Toast, however, was not your typical diner French Toast. This was what our Moms made for us at home. Three slices of thin, white, Wonder Bread! Now that was delicious when we were kids, but once we had the nice thick challah style bread the first time we ate at a real diner, there was no going back to Mom's Wonder Bread. So while this might have reminded us of Mom's French toast, it was a bit of a letdown for eating out. Not to mention it was only warm when it arrived at the table. I ordered a Western Omelet ($7.80) with rye toast and hash browns. Nothing special here, pretty straight forward and average. The hash browns were the large cutup style that probably had been on the flattop for awhile since they were rather crispy on the skin sides (I like that) but could have benefited from a squirt of oil shortly before plating. Our server was friendly, though not at her peak performance. If it takes another 38 years before we return, we'll probably set a Guinness Book record for their oldest living customers.

We had a small private room upstairs in this historic building with original wide wood floor boards and staircases. I ordered the Craic --grilled roast beef, sautéed onions, provolone cheese, horseradish mayonnaise on a baguette($18.00) which was served au jus. The beef was tender and the baguette was fresh. It was large so I ate have and took half home. Delicious! I also had the French Onion Soup (along with three others.) Sadly, it was spoiled for me by a completely soft/soggy bread slice (mush) below the cheese top. I quietly removed it from my bowl. However, the broth was flavorful. I remember it being excellent. Reason for 4 stars instead of five. My grandson enjoyed the Shepherd's Pie. Since he is a growing lad, he also had the well made fries. The three salads ordered were excellent. One salad had salmon, one had Buffalo Chicken, and one had beets and goat cheese. Generous amounts of protein were served. The children enjoyed the toasted cheese sandwich, Mac and cheese, and waffle fries. The Wings were good. The extensive menu is easy to read with a variety of exciting food choices available. Translucent fabric above the deck helps to diffuse the strong sunlight. While the draft beers available are not likely to attract those interested mostly in craft beers, the variety offered should be sufficient to accommodate those looking for a good brew to pair with the food they order. And we're talking about homemade pub food. While my companions chose sodas to go with their burgers, I decided on a Fiddlehead IPA ($5.50). My wife ordered the Cheddar & Bacon Burger (19 klams) and two of us ordered the Smokehouse Burger (19 klams). All burgers are half-pound, hand-crafted, freshly ground beef served with lettuce, tomato, and onion on a grilled brioche roll. They are also accompanied by fresh-cut fries and pineapple slaw. We all ordered our burgers medium-rare, and the kitchen complied. While the Cheddar & Bacon Burger is self-explanatory, the Smokehouse Burger includes a brown sugar BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, applewood smoked bacon and a homemade onion ring. The bacon on all our burgers was thick, crispy, and very tasty. The side of pineapple slaw was fresh and flavorful, the fries were better than average, and the rolls were soft and tasty. There are a number of other items on their menu that look inviting. I unfortunately, only took a photo of one side of the menu, but that should be enough to make you want to check them out. They also offer specials each night. Did I mention the complimentary bowl of popcorn?

That said, mac & cheese in general has been the most reliable item on the menu for me. I've tried plenty of other dishes here over time -- fish & chips, burgers, fish and chicken tacos, and nearly every mac & cheese variation -- but I'll stick to reviewing what we ordered on this visit. This time around, my wife ordered the fish and chips, and I ordered the BBQ mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was delicious, and the BBQ sauce added a nice sweetness that paired really well with the pulled pork. The fish and chips were also very good.
