The pancakes were chewy with an odd texture and an odd flavor - I do not recommend them. I usually take home the leftovers, but those, I did not. I asked for crispy bacon. It was so greasy that I had to pat it down with a napkin; it was also very chewy and salty. I made my husband eat the rest of it, but neither of us liked it. My husband said the homemade corned beef hash was good. The iced tea was not good. When we sat down, there was a dirty plate with 3 creamers on it that sat on our table the whole time. The service was slow and unattentive. While we were there, a guy and his son came in and sat down. They waited so long for attention that they walked out. And this is neither here nor there, but when I went to the bathroom, the lights were off and that's fine, but I didn't realize that there was a whole-wall, floor-to-ceiling mirror in there and I thought there was someone else in the bathroom. Great diner, friendly staff, huge portions at a great price. I met a friend here for a late breakfast and realized I passed this place 100 times without walking in. Glad I got in here for their homemade hash. I ordered the homemade corned beef hash, a treat for me as I rarely have this hearty dish. I am so glad I gave it a try, it was great! Huge chunks of corned beef were nice and caramelized in the griddle. The side of home fries were also browned to perfection, the eggs were a little under for "medium" but I didn't mind it, the yolk just sauced up everything so perfectly. Snyder's is now under new management. The same team that runs Hank Hudson Brewing. This was also my first visit so I can't speak to any changes/similarities to how the restaurant has been. Everything ordered was delicious. The pastrami Diablo comes with a Smokey coleslaw which is a nice twist. It wasn't spicy hot just gives a little warmth to the sandwich. I have never been to Snyders, despite living nearby for a long time. Today I decided to come in and was very glad I did. The atmosphere and staff are classics. They're comfortable handling a big Sunday rush, and I was solo, but not ignored. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, as I often do. Today I was blown away by one of the best poaches I've ever seen on these eggs! It was heavenly! I'm guessing the hollandaise sauce was not hand made, but that did not matter. Wanted to have a something light for my mid morning meal. Ordered the hotdog with meat sauce and fries. The order came with two hotdogs, with the rolls toasted ever so slightly. I enjoyed seeing the bun to hotdog ratio was perfect. The meat sauce was just the right amount of flavor to accompany the hotdog and just enough to cover the bun. Fries came out fresh and hot. My plate came out looking so nice, nothing sloppy. Totally enjoyed my meal. The staff was attentive and very accommodating. I had been reading so many good things about this place so I decided to give it a try. My daughter and I went there for lunch. She ordered chicken tenders and I ordered a hot turkey sandwich. I was very disappointed with my choice. Typically when I order this in a diner setting I get enough food to feed myself, my daughter and have leftovers to bring home. But this portion was sad. It was 2 small pieces of bread with some turkey in between and a watery gravy poured over the top that caused my bread to get so soggy I had to remove it. Walked in and wasn't acknowledged by any staff for at least ten minutes after they had all seen us waiting. When one of the girls told us that we can finally seat ourselves we ordered simple eggs, bacon, and potatoes, and it took 40 minutes to complete the order. I went here during the July 4th holiday weekend (because the Halfmoon Diner was closed), hoping to grab a quick homestyle breakfast. Pretty disappointed. Our food order came out wrong, the service was -incredibly- slow (especially for what we ordered), the bacon was gross, the pancakes tasted like they were sitting out for hours, and the eggs were super yolky tasting, which just isn't my preference. The sausage was okay, but couldn't save the meal. Waitstaff was reasonably friendly, but seemed to hate their jobs. However, I would hate working July 4th weekend as well, so I'll give them that. ;) Definitely not coming back. read more

They've been in business in my town for more than 55 years and it only took me 38 of those years to get around to trying them. Was it worth it? You decide... They are open 7 days a week from 6am to 3pm. So when my wife asked me at noon on a Saturday if I'd like to go out for breakfast, I figured we should be able to get there in time. As we approached their parking lot shortly after 1pm, I wasn't sure if they were still open because we weren't seeing any cars in the parking lot. But then we saw three customers leaving at that point and heading toward their car. Upon entering, we realized those had to have been the last three customers in the place. We were looking at eight large, empty, perfectly clean booths, each capable of holding six adults comfortably. There was also another room with counter service and I think more tables. Our soon to be server told us to have a seat wherever we liked and mentioned how much busier it was earlier. It actually was nice to see everything looking so clean. We ordered coffee ($2 each with a refill offered) and waited to receive menus. Our server only realized that we didn't have menus when she returned with the coffee and started to ask if we had decided what we would like to order. My wife chose French Toast ($4.75) along with an Egg, over-easy, and Sausage ($5.55). The egg was cooked properly and the two large plump sausages (not those small skinny breakfast ones that taste like they have sage and thyme) were tasty. The French Toast, however, was not your typical diner French Toast. This was what our Moms made for us at home. Three slices of thin, white, Wonder Bread! Now that was delicious when we were kids, but once we had the nice thick challah style bread the first time we ate at a real diner, there was no going back to Mom's Wonder Bread. So while this might have reminded us of Mom's French toast, it was a bit of a letdown for eating out. Not to mention it was only warm when it arrived at the table. I ordered a Western Omelet ($7.80) with rye toast and hash browns. Nothing special here, pretty straight forward and average. The hash browns were the large cutup style that probably had been on the flattop for awhile since they were rather crispy on the skin sides (I like that) but could have benefited from a squirt of oil shortly before plating. Our server was friendly, though not at her peak performance. If it takes another 38 years before we return, we'll probably set a Guinness Book record for their oldest living customers. read more

Greasy Breakfast indeed. Four Stars because this place is a pure slice of America with a side of America f-yeah whipped cream. Don't be turned away by the outside, um, decor. Consistency and cheap food is the name of the game. Food- 2.5 Stars Somewhere between good and OK. Generally greasy, a bit flavorless, and hot. Simpler items are better, but their eggs benedict isn't bad either. Not my favorite homefries in the world. I usually grab a sammich like Eugene. Service- 5 Stars Never had anything less than "how you doin' hon'?" phenomenal service at Snyders. Atmosphere- 4 Stars Hell yes I want bar that serves breakfast (or is it a breakfast place that has a bar?) and has Quickdraw in what is probably a converted old house. Breakfast counter has extra authenticity. Value- 5 Stars Cheap as hell and the food doesn't suck. Drinks- 3 Stars Passable not great hot coffee. read more

Went to Snyder today for breakfast with some family. Everything came out and looked absolutely fantastic. One of the family members I think like they're baking a little more cooked but that wasn't too much of a big deal. I had ordered the Chelsea. On the menu, it said that it had all kinds of vegetables in it but when I got it, I could see eggs I could see cheese I believe I found mushrooms And the hash brown. It was supposed to have had peppers, onions, broccoli, black olives, and spinach, but I didn't find it in there as I ate it. The hash brown was a nice taste of the burrito, but I think it was too greasy when it was put together because when it got to the table, I had a small puddle of grease. It was a little offputting, but what I was given was actually not too bad just more disappointed I was looking forward to all the vegetables. I also had ordered the breakfast sausage links. I have ordered them before but today's were a lot overcooked and not as nice as they had been in the past. I'm still giving it four stars it may have been just a busy day and things didn't come out as they do but consistency should be all the time. I still plan to go back again. read more

food was the BEST I know of in the Albany area. the eggs Benny with homemade cornbeef hash was just amazing, just the right amount nice and crispy on the edges ,the muffin was thick and fluffy, toasted perfect, the eggs were over done I like them runny, it adds to the sauce this was not a problem the waitress came right over and with a SMILE I will fix that right away, before I knew it 2 poached to perfection were adorning my muffins. with this generous amount of a smooth,creamy hollandaise sauce. unfortunately the home fries were like everyone else, (I wont take any stars off for them over cooked and greasy not crisp outside and fluffy inside must be a industry standard) the Greek omelet was another wonderful eating delight, loaded with spinach, olives ,feta, onions. service was very attentive, kind , and courteous , with a smile. the table was as I have never seen before , there was not 1 item you could think of as a condiment missing, jelly, pancake syrup, all sweeteners ,salt pepper , 3 different hot sauces, everything possible. the layout is a bit odd for a dinning area, but warm and comfortable. oh yeah all this and reasonable. don't miss this place I have paid a lot more and received a lot less and I am not just talking about the food read more

I went for a brunch today at 11. The place was empty and no one came to the table for five minutes. I ordered coffee and my husband ordered oj. It took another length of time for that. Breakfast was more than 20 minutes later. Staff seemed more interested in entertaining each other. Supposed to be a local gem, but I have found this restaurant a great disappointment. The last time I visited I was afraid to bit on the homefries (often the best dish to judge a primarily breakfast establishment on) which were as hard as tree-bark and fried to a burned crisp (I suspected they were leftover from the day before). The wait staff appeared a bit resentful at having to work in such a dreary establishment, and I'm not even sure the owner was required to pay the cooks even minimum wage. Sad. Never went back. Yes, I know Snyder's under "new management" and I wish the new owner the best, but if you want a great breakfast, try the HalfMoon Diner. read more

Snyder's may be the only decent diner-like establishment in Clifton Park. ATMOSPHERE: The outside of Snyder's resembles a red barn which gives it a quaint aesthetic. Inside the decor is rather interesting. To give the illusion of depth, there are large mirrors on the walls, and there are also antique farm tools hanging everywhere. Seating is self serve, so don't walk in and expect a host to greet you. SERVICE: The service here is okay. Our server was a brunette female who appeared to be in her early 40s with a lot of blue eye shadow and a piercing on the left side of her upper lip. We didn't get her name, so that's the only description I can offer. I've read other reviews claiming the service is slow, but for a busy Sunday lunch it wasn't bad. It wasn't outstanding either, but overall it was adequate. FOOD: While the menu is only two pages, the quality is kept fairly high by limiting the selection. This isn't to say, though, that there were few choices because there were plenty. My girlfriend got the corned beef hash with a generous helping of scrambled eggs and four pieces of toast. I got the South of the Border burger which was a half pound patty topped with salsa and my choice of cheese (I got cheddar). I asked for it cooked medium, and it came out just that way. I'm not sure why, but numerous places in Saratoga County have a deficiency in being able to properly cook beef. The burger was practically slathered with cheese, so it was very filling. It also came with fries. VALUE: Excellent bang for the buck here. My girlfriend's breakfast was quite a bit of food for $6.55, and my burger and fries were only $8.60 but of better quality and portion size compared to most other places. Coffee was only $1.50. This is one of extremely few locations where two people can eat at a full service restaurant for under $20 after tax (our bill was $17.82). My only complaint about Snyder's is the hours. It's open daily but only from 6AM-3PM. If you want dinner here, that will not be possible. read more

After years of driving by this place, I decided to stop in for breakfast this morning. This establishment offers booth, table and counter seating for breakfast and lunch service only. My waitress was friendly and efficient, and I was pleased to see the staff work in tandem to serve your needs quickly. I opted for the Corned Beef Hash with two eggs and toast at $7.00. It would have been nice if they had offered this with home fries or hash browns, but alas, they hit you up for $2.50 for a side order. The corned beef hash was very good, but the cook does not understand the meaning of "over medium" on the eggs. Why is it that cooks insist on serving them over easy? On the whole, the breakfast was of decent taste and quality. My criticisms of this eatery are few. The coffee is one shade up from warm water. I've had tea that was stronger than this. I was happy that my waitress removed it from my bill, after seeing that I wasn't drinking it. I was also disappointed to find the ketchup was amongst the lowest quality that I've ever eaten. I like plenty of ketchup on my eggs, hash and potatoes, so next time I bring my own bottle. I'll also bring my own coffee. It wasn't the best breakfast place in my driving span, but it also wasn't the worst. Good hash, friendly service and reasonable prices will bring me back for another try. Went to Snyder's for breakfast and it was hopping which I imagine would be usual for a Sunday morning. You know it has to be good right? My husband ordered steak and eggs. I tried his steak which was delicious. I gave the eastern omelette a try and it was very tasty. In the eastern, there's diced ham and cheese. Most omelettes I've tried elsewhere have been dry and bland. This omelette was flavorful and juicy. Both of our breakfasts came with home fries. Mine was accompanied by toast. Knowing that they were really busy, our waitress had forgotten my toast but quickly retrieved it when asked. Additionally, she charged us for a coffee we didn't order but that was stricken through very quickly as well. Overall, tasty food and I definitely will return. read more

Service: 5 stars all the way. The servers are great and is a big part of why there are so many regulars there. One meal here and you'll see that half the people in there know all the staff. It's great. I will add that the breakfast sammi is great and the tuna club is a must. As for the outside décor, I've heard they spruced it up a bit.
