I was excited for this spot it's like an adult store for volts wagen parts 2nd visit excited to buy rims for my 67 volts and other parts. 45 mins of waiting I'm the 2nd customers out of 5 others waiting only one employee at the counter the owner comes out pass without greeting anyone on his way back he ask lf l had a Question? I said yes l do l want to purchase 2 different set of rims, right side mirror and Fan belt and other stuff The owner ANDY said ok pointed at the only guy I been waiting for the pass 49 mins now and said he will help you out. I look at the owner puzzle and said okay. Then the owner look at me and said are you giving me attitude? I was in Disbelieve & said last time l check I came to leave you my business Sir. I'm excited to be restoring my 67 I have my 13 yr old who will one day own it. and He keep going on talking smack to me like I'm stupid or some toddler why he explode on me Idk? I ask would he like me to leave he said the door is front of you after I was walking away since I seen the owner walking towards me I didn't want to do anything stupid! he walk away to the back room after the only guy at the counter told the owner Andy (pushing him back) to go to the back he gets this taken care of, another employee came out of back room all customers seem shock as much as l did & said you done nothing wrong man. l was gonna just walk out but, needed that Fan belt since l drove to shop in the 67 & I needed to replace the belt on the spot. the other employee doesn't understand why his boss snap at me he is weird and crazy no one that works for him respects him but, need the job after Going outside with the employee check out the type of belt l needed after going inside I purchase one style of rims after all since the employee convince me. my total was 463.72 lf the owner cares to read this you would of took 1,800 of my hard working money if you wasn't such a jerk! to hard working people. When l arrive home the mirror sold to me was a left not a right side like I ask when l call the shop explain what happen The employee on the phone said well? You ask for a left not a right side mirror So l just had to tell them look! just give me a solution not a problem Just forget about it. They have no customer service skills whatsoever the right thing to do is just say he look let's switch it out for you and make it right But, these people rather focus on the problem and the solution and l don't blame them it's the owner doesn't lead by a Good example. For anyone that works hard for the Money they make PLEASE go to a place that wants to take all your money and give you the respect you deserve i don't care if he was having a bad day this is NOT a way to run a business and makes feel if the owner has been diagnost with an illness.. read more

I ordered a brake kit from here. When it arrived the various parts were coming out of their boxes, so a lazy packing job right there. Went back to the site later to order some parts. Just needed a simple $12.95 part, but upon check out I see they're trying to tack on a $15 handling fee. That's more than the part itself. The real kicker was when I went to tally it all up, the added tax included the handling fee. You charge a handling fee and then tax me on it as well as the part. Needless to say my restoration project will be going else where for parts. read more

Two weeks ago when I went in for the first time I was pleasantly surprised at how accommodating and helpful "Rudy" the sales/front desk guy was. Unfortunately, they did not have one part in stock that I needed, no problem it happens. However, I did buy a drink holder/basket that attaches to the transmission column in the center of your VW after about 30 seconds I took it off because I hated it it pushes against your legs by the gas pedal and is extremely dangerous to me. I figured I could return it when picking up the parts I needed. I was told to come back in a couple weeks, I did as he suggested and came back this afternoon exactly 2 weeks. I see Rudy and I am happy he's working because he was very nice last time I was there. So I start off our conversation with I'd like to return this drink holder and I'm hoping the parts are in that I needed. He proceeds to tell me that I cannot return the drink holder because I've used it, I'm like the point is I will Never use it, it's very dangerous besides it's exactly the same, no damage. So strike one, then I start asking him about the parts I need, now he has no recollection or ability to help me, my car was literally parked at the front door and he refused to walk out and help me although when I was there before he was able to walk out and tell me what hose I needed and the size. Totally Blown away by this guys service or should I say lack of. I have bug that's 50 years old and it is always needing something but, I refuse to give So Cal Imports my hard earned money. I can't say anything negative about them, when the wrong brake kit arrived for my SB, still not sure if I ordered the wrong one or if they shipped the wrong one, customer service was friendly and helpful. I ended up buying everything locally so I could get my bug back on the road. I shipped the kit back with the RMA number and received a full refund in a few days. read more

This is a follow up to my review I posted on 1/11/17. I have talked to Jeff several times on the phone when I need some bug advice. He gives me his full attention unless he has costumers in the store, and that is 100% understandable. I have been to the store twice now and Jeff greets me like a friend and fellow bug lover. He is easy to talk too, willing to give you his take on any issue and comes across like an all around good guy. I am happy with my purchases totaling over $500 at this point. I just wish they were closer to where I live. read more

Lousy, and I mean LOUSY customer service, at least at the counter (I don't know about internet sales). Get a load of this: I drive 1 1/2 hours to get there, with 3K cash in my pocket to buy a disk brake set, axles and cv joints - stuff I have to get. My research tells me these parts should be what I need, but I have questions to ask before I turn over 3K of my HARD earned money. My turn comes up and I ask the guy behind the counter if he wanted to help the 2 people behind me first, if they are just picking up an ordered part real quick, or whatever, because I have questions I have ask. So this guy tells me he has "other stuff to do" and can't answer questions BEFORE I EVEN ASK ONE, then turns to help the guy behind me - WTF !?!? Did this guy just effectively kick me (and $3K) out of the store for no reason?? So I walk out of the store confused and embarrassed by his scene. I can't speak for you, but I won't give 3K, or any amount, to some AH who won't let me ask questions about his expensive parts. He acted like he really hates his job. Maybe his boss should help him with that problem, unless his boss doesn't care either. Maybe he was the owner, I don't know. Only NOW I read the yelp reviews with so many others complaining about their lousy customer service. I literally could have prevented a wasted day if I had read them before I left. LESSON LEARNED: read and believe negative yelp (and other such) reviews BEFORE going to spend money in any business you are not real familiar with. (I read positive reviews very skeptically as they are obviously often planted there by the business owners and their buddies.) I've been building cars for 30 plus years and have seen the good, the bad, and everything in between. And this place is in my top 3 favs to deal with at a customer service level. Anytime I've had a problem with a installation or a part, with one phone call, Andy puts me on the right path every time. On one occasion I called Andy about a defective calliper, and without skipping a beat he said "I'll have a new one in the mail today. Is there anything else you need. Thanks for calling." Received the calliper, problem solved...... He will tell ya "I want happy customers" and from my experience he walks the talk. And for all the hardcore gear heads I recommend Jeff, who is a humble source of information. read more

I searched the globe looking for 3" wider rear fenders that would simply bolt to the original holes on my 1974 Thing. I found that these guys had made their own and had them in stock. I decided to drive an hour to their location to avoid shipping fees and get the cash discount. The tall guy that works their was amazing. He gave my family and I a tour of the shop showing off 2 Things and a 23 window bus! The fenders fit like a glove and have had many compliments. I'm going back for their disc brakes! read more

I bought 3 1600dp heads, part # 043101355CHWV. ALL 3 lost an intake valve seat. The reason I had 3 is because I had to buy another one right after the motor was put together. Then less than a year later the other one went and now today the third one went. I will never buy from this company again. Waste of my time and money. read more

Terrible customer service.I went in there looking for a seal and they guy immediatly said that they did not carry them, i continued to explain where the seal was located he still said they didnt carry them. Then another guy behind the counted said that they Did carry them. He went and got the seal i needed that came in a kit and told me to take it or leave it with an attitude after he insisted that they didnt carry it, i had to tell him to. Calm down. I did nothing to make this guy mad at all i was very calm. And at the same time the other counter guy was getting into it with anoher customer about pricing they had qoted him over the phone. We both agreed that they were very rude. I would only go here in an absolute emergancy from now on. Stay away. I rather pay more for my parts from a place that had better service and knew more about the products they carry. Like other VW parts stores ive visited before. read more
