I order a large wonton soup for lunch. The people are very nice but the soup was not. The wonton was falling apart. The only reason that would happen is if you leave the wonton in the broth. If you don't know to put the wonton in at the last minute then what else are they getting wring. I'll give the place one more chance. read more

Ahhhh So Far So Good, you are so good, yet I wish you were closer and not as far. Seriously, I feel that So Far So Good is an excellent Chinese Restaurant in Southwestern Nassau. When you first walk in, you will notice that So Far is not your typical Chinese takeout joint. Rather, it is a sit down restaurant that harkens back to the fifties with marble floors and a fish tank. While I have not dined in and usually order take out, which my dad picks up food from here as he works in the area, I found So Far So Good to have a touch of elegance and to be immaculate as far as cleanliness. For food, I have tried different seafood, chicken, and meat dishes which are all high quality and delicious. For seafood, I like the Garlic Shrimp, which are a nice medium size, have a nice back of the throat burning hint of spice, and are garlicky. My favorite chicken dish is the Chicken in Black Bean Sauce, which has juicy chicken, a slightly sweet black bean sauce, and crisp vegetables, which are cooked perfectly! I also like the Beef and Broccoli, which contains tender beef and perfectly cooked broccoli. A common positive trait that all of these dishes have is that like other revivers have stated, the meals don't contain excessive amounts of grease, which allows me to enjoy the delicious ingredients further.Sushi and Japanese food are also available and I happen to like their Salmon Skin Rolls, which have crisp salmon skin and are well sized. While I have not dined in the restaurant, I have always been treated well by the staff whenever I placed a takeout order. The prices are reasonable at around $8-$9 on average for a regular dish, which is easily enough for two meals and if you order at lunch, you can get a lunch special for around $5-$6 with a soda, soup, and rice. If you have the chance to dine in, you can opt for an early bird special or a complete dinner according to the menu online. Came here with the family for dinner. Our server was Harry and he said it was his first day and he did a great job! All the waitstaff seemed to be really helpful and working quickly. We were overall very happy with our meal. Everyone is given a basket of fried noodles, mustard, and duck sauce. Noodles were great - just the kind we like - wide, airy, crispy. It is a real let down when places don't have good fried noodles. The duck sauce was also really good. The mustard wasn't spicy enough for me but still good. We all had wonton soup, which was great. A complimentary steamed pork dumplings (with coupon) were also delicious and a large portion. Salad with ginger dressing was meh. Something just tasted off with the dressing, have had much better. This place is Chinese but had a few Japanese options, but aside from the ginger dressing we stuck with the Chinese menu options. We shared Sesame Chicken and General Tso's both were crispy and the sauce was tasty. Pistachio ice cream for dessert was also good. Drinks were a little small but fairly priced. read more

Not cutting edge anything - just solid food and service. This is a lovely spot with a warm waitstaff who are always kind and on the mark. The food is good chinese-american - this is not the place to go instead of chinatown but it's a wonderful place for a family meal. Even when the kids were small [and messy] they always made us feel that they were happy the children were with us rather than the opposite. The dining room is pleasant, the choices are all good - my husband often just sticks with the sushi menu and always enjoys it. This restaurant has very good Chinese food. They pride themselves on quality and service. The only aspect that I don't like is the large fish tank with fish too large for the tank. I wish that they would return these fish to the pet store or the wild. read more

My wife and I recently ate here after we saw the amount of people that were dining there. We have a policy of following the people as it pertains to food. The food was pretty good. One thing I must say is that the ingredients were noticeably fresh. We ordered the egg plant with Zucchini, Beef with String beans and delicious fried rice with cashews and chicken. Came in here upon the recommendation of a friend.I had pork steamed dumplings and a miso soup. Both were very tasty! I also drank some hot tea, which was nice as well. I came with 5 others and everyone got their food in a timely manner, and was pleased with what they received. We also all enjoyed the crispy chow mein noodles that were set out on the table. They seemed freshly fried and were perfect dipped in the accompanying sauce! My only problem really was that although the waitstaff is polite, they can certainly be a little pushy. Overpriced and overrated. As soon as I read the review from Queens I should have known. I have lived here for 7 years and have yet to find Chinese food comparable to Brooklyn, Queens, or Manhattan. We called in our order and picked it up (45 minute delivery time). The long delivery time actually seemed promising. "This place is in high demand", I thought. When my husband came home and I unpacked the food, the pineapple chunks in the sweet and sour sauce were another good sign. It was all down hill from there. Small portions for the price and the taste was typical compared to other L.I. Chinese food. And then there is the fact that they left one of our menu items out. I called and they said 40 minute wait to deliver. !? We picked up the first time and they made the mistake. Seems to me good customer service would dictate that they correct their own mistake. My husband went out again to pick it up. Sorry folks, just because a place has a sit-down dining room with tablecloths doesn't mean it is all that. Way over priced for food that was so-so at best. Never going there again! We had my daughters College Graduation party there and although food was ok, we were very disappointed. We have been good customers there for quite awhile and can not believe what occurred there, First off the area in the rear of the restaurant was supposed to be reserved for our party which we booked in February, We returned back there every week to pay off this party, so they had contact with us for weeks before the party, When we arrived our room was not set up and they wanted us to have our party with the general restaurant diners. My daughter was upset so I made them rearrange the party room to accomodate us. After some hassle and me showing how unhappy we were they corrected the situation, It took an hour before they started serving the buffet and the food was luke warm. I had decided to get the unlimited soda feature at extra cost and they never did put the pitchers on the table, I had to constantly be on them to get glasses with ice on the tables , refill the food and to make sure guests were happy. You could clearly see they did not want to lose money on the soda and really didn't willingly refill the food buffet. I paid for unlimited sushi and that was sparingly put out on the buffet ( maybe about 25 pcs) when that was all gone it was not replenished , they actually went around and served it themselves so as to not have to refill the empty platter on the buffet, Clearly trying to control consumption, They are very stingy and I had practically prepaid for this entre affair up front! The worst thing though is that whatever food was left over we were not permitted to wrap up, I am told now that they throw the food away! That is such a waste! I believe that they re use it, There was an entire lomein dish left and i saw the waitress walking carefully back to the kitchen with it, Either way is bad, If they dispose of it it is a waste and if they serve it to unsuspecting diners it is disgusting, .Also, my daughter had a small amount of sushi left on her plate and asked to wrap that up and they really were hesitant to do it. After awhile they did us a "favor" and finally wrapped it up. We also paid alot of money for an icecream cake to feed 33 that they were supposed to freeze but they only refrigerated it and it was melting in no time!
